So join me as we find out what I actually ordered, what I got sent, if it even works, and more importantly what are the specs and how well does it run.

You’re so lucky to have ps5 early and at a bargain price, too. Red and black looks beautiful and that controller looks futuristic. Super Mario is clearly running at 8k and looks incredible. Plus, by the looks of it, you have every single ps5 game, built in to the console. That’s great because now you don’t have to buy any games. Bet you’re over the moon. 😍

Something I haven't seen anyone commenting on... isn't the actual plug in the box .. american? I'm pretty sure he said it's an EU-UK adaptor but that plug doesn't look like an EU cable.

Alteffo its a US/Canada/japan/mexico plug. They just threw in an converter adapter instead of packing a proper adapter in the box.
UK plug is a very rare color grade indeed

Lucas Kirk good news is that doesn’t seem to be the case with the PS5. I’m an Xbox guy but I’ve always picked up a PS eventually as well. Both systems are looking pretty good
probably silent as there is no cooling fan.

This is retroarch based as shown by the yellow text in the corner. You remember zero wing because it's the game that "All your base are belong to us" comes from. And that level select on sonic 3d blast is actually an error handler that triggers whenever the game crashes, it was implemented so that when sega was testing the game for bugs and it crashed they'd just assume it was a secret they had unlocked and ignored it.
I remember knocking the Sonic 3D cartridge with my hand, and the level select appeared!
Clever idea. I'll do that in all of my software: try { ... } catch (Exception e) { ... congrats! you unlocked a secret! } :D

Gotta say I was rather impressed by the GUI and the OS in general and the amount of work that went into designing the SBC specifically for such knockoff consoles.
Also love the FPS overlay testing, very nice work!
Seems to be running a version of Android with RetroArch.
By the Android system UI/button design it looks like nothing higher than 2.x which would not be surprising
Then again, at 10:06, that UI is more 4.x-ish...
So maybe just a very old build of an emulator running on 4.x? Hmm...

What would you think 1 gig or even 512mb..? Raspberry pi 1st gen ish ..I have a Asus tinkerboard 2gig ram but mine seemed to handle better and will play some psp and ps1 games ..I use lakka to emulate...I've had problems trying to get retroarch to work on it but I'm not very savy on linux..more a windows guy :)
That UI looked nothing like retroarch. Sorry bud, but you are way off

When you loaded the sonic game state, and it failed, then it showed you the level select screen. That's something many old games did when something went wrong with code. They would send you to a "secret level select screen". That was to avoid freezing or crashing, and make easier the approval of their games by the console manufacturers.
Someone's been watching coding secrets!
Only the Sonic devs really did that, 3D Blast was a mess.

Aussie here, here's what I know about it. Around the same time you ordered your example there were 3 listings for the console on Ebay Australia, all shipping from China, all requiring payment in foreign currency (2 listings in British Pounds, 1 listing in Euros). About an hour after I spotted the listings they vanished along with the seller's profiles from Ebay Australia (I assumed Ebay themselves removed them and found evidence that was the correct assumption several days later). I haven't seen a listing for the console since but highly doubt that anyone with half a brain would've bought one of these except for the purposes that you bought one for and no doubt there were probably a large number of complaints from Ebay users calling bullshit on this product and quickly advising Ebay of its existence on the site. Anyway very interesting and informative video, looking forward to the next one whatever the subject matter.

the most interesting thing about that unit is it seems to have the version of mario that was on the Ique(chinese n64 variant) some folks have been trying to dump that rom for a while, i guess they did it.
the customs depot in goole steamrollered 250 units that looked a lot like this a few weeks ago, though those actually had sony printed on them, it was the same shit though.

Hey you can't complain it came with a DEATH ADAPTOR, and you got the TRON paintjob, also comes with ANTI GRAVITY PLATING that's why it feels so light 🤣🤣🤣, I'm sat in here in actual tears the graphics are so sharp, crisp and colourful the visuals are assaulting my eyes with slashes of sharp goodness, it's 8k fidelity it's mind crushing, and the sound is akin to the harps of heavan 🤣🤣, Christ that tops it I've just pissed myself 👍👍👍

The "indulge in game" translation is actually missing the words "is bad for your health". The Chinese text directly above is a warning that playing too much games is harmful, something that the Chinese government is advocating to curb Video game addiction.

That level selection was a bug catch programmed in to pass the quality control at sega. This is why messing with the game cart in original hardware would send you into the "secret" level select. Any significant glitch would send you into the level select. As per an interview with one of the original programmers.

To anyone thinking this is kinda neat: just get a raspberry pi with some emulators for less than half of what this costs. You can put your own games of choice on that too.

I remember watching a video about the sonic 3D game. The level select is actually a bug fix from the original game. They found if you shook the cartridge in the console, it would bring up an error message. So they replaced the error message with the level select screen, changing the "bug" into a "feature" lol it's strange how the load state option prompts this to happen 😂

The story goes that Sega’s QA was really strict at the time and the developer didn’t have time or money to put it through QA multiple times if it failed, any crash or similar event would earn an automatic failure. So Jon Burton, the lead developer, programmed all crashes to go to the “secret” level select so the Sega employee tester wouldn’t realise it had crashed. Supposedly there was a major bug that they couldn’t fix and would crash randomly, but after QA he got it mostly fixed or at least mitigated enough.
@@justanotheryoutubechannel They ran the games for weeks at a time. This made most any game go nuts. His crash fix secret screen keeps the game running. It can never crash as any error goes to that screen. Sega forced games to be running for weeks so a lot of games failed the test simply from weird errors that hit after the game was running a week or 2.
The fact you can in theory flash your own OS or Android onto it... I really want to see this refurbished into a media center or maybe a simple better emulator machine
