ESP Signature artist Jeff Ling, part of the two-guitar tandem in Australia based metalcore giants Parkway Drive, took some time out of his busy schedule during the typically hectic soundcheck before a recent show, and talked to us about his Signature Series guitar, the ESP E-II Jeff Ling. Players on a budgets should also check out the LTD version of his guitar, the JL-600.

since gibson has become even more overprized than ever before the esp/ltd brands will just go up in popularity so PLEASE keep the ltds as affordable as possible there are not too much quality alternatives left imo, cheers -🎸🎸

I play mainly an 02 Schecter C1 with a pretty thin neck profile. The thin U neck on my LTD Deluxe 7 is perfect for me, while the ultra thin U is too thin like an Ibanez S or prestige..
The only neck I own that thin is on my Chapman ML-1, speedy as fuck but thin feeling and sounding paired with the carved body and Maple cap. Jeff's guitar is much thicker, more wood - I'd trade for it in a heartbeat.

which strings does he use? the ESP comes with 010-046, its impossible to play in drop B without being floppy

My favorite thing about Jeff is he is a lead guitarist with the most simple axe. No Floyd or other nonsense just total simplicity yet sounds so damn good. His signature is specd the exact way mine would be
