I bought this lens as well as other TTArtisan lenses for APS-C almost as soon as I bought my Z fc. As you rightly said, this is a lens with an amazing "character" and look. I love that dreamy effect you get wide open especially when you're shooting close up. Moreover, if yo try it in the evening, you'll see a very strong coma smearing, which adds to its unique character in my opinion. Definitely not a lens for perfectionists and those pursuing optimum IQ, but definitely a very fun and creative option with nice build quality and a host of imperfection that gives it its unique character.
I bought it about week ago for Fuji. In my 10 year experience I did best shots of my life. It has so much character… it’s basically newer version on Helios, but much sharper, more contrasty and with more light available.. it’s best buy I ever did. Definitely 11/10 in terms of sharpness to money. Also silver one looks amazing with my xt20. 99 of 100 shots are in focus without even refocusing which is crazy. That focus peaking in mirrorless cameras are out of this world. I do my shots in raw but with acros simulation and tweak/change to colours in capture one. If somebody want to buy it, do it, You will not regret any $
Love your videos... so much more fun that others', most of which are simply all about the scream. Most interesting stuff and photographically brilliantly subtle... especially the tighter headroom! 😉 All I dream of now is to have your arms in the crop too. Edit: though from 14:03 that is MY sort of crop! I can go sleep happily watching the World Snooker final now... happy days. Oh, and great to see that old Patterson dev tank spiral popping in there! Jeez, now that DOES bring back many 'dark' memories. 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 But seriously, such intriguing videos indeed. Many thanks A
@@RaymondParkerPhoto I just like tight crops... so the closer I get to eyeballs the better! But for me, if there is subject matter as part of a scene, then always include them, or crop them out completely to avoid the distraction. So to the arms at the beginning of your video, I was hankering for them to be in the scene or out. I only got to see half of them (the forearms I mean). But it is only a matter of taste when all said and done, and I soon lost myself listening to your usual salient points and humour. I do have a question though as I am curious... are you using a teleprompt? If not your banter is flawless and fluent. If you are, then you are the best teleprompt user God has ever placed on this earth, AND your face to camera is pretty much flawless too! I always end up a happier person after watching your cerebral musings. Thank you...
