Correction, see update on S-line, all the information you need right here. Thanks to @jkldb4815 for pointing it out.
www.nikonusa.com/learn-and-explore/c/products-and-innovation/s-line-a-badge-of-honor-for-nikkor-z-lenses
S line and non S line lenses don't have anything to do with flange distance and inner mount diameter, the S line is superior because of the lens coatings and special glass elements
Thank you very much for pointing this out, I have pined a comment with a link to the S-line information to ensure correct information is shared. Appreciate the feedback.
Thank You Francois!
You are welcome!
They are indeed smart in this approach 👏🏻. And this lens will not only attract the Z6iii buyers but also people with older Z bodies.
Exactly. Watch out for a lot of videos coming from various creators about this lens.
The 35 1.2 is still coming
This will be a beast of a lens when it comes out. Definitely out of my budget...for now
24mm f1,4 next?
That would be something, then again would be very expensive that lens.
USD prices,
* $700: Tamron SP 35mm f/1.4 Di USD Lens for Nikon F
* $600: Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.4 Lens
* $700: Nikon NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S
We should ask Tamron why the Nikon Z 35mm f/1.4 is so cheap.
You are not the first person to mention Tamron as the reason behind this. I have been trying to something that links the 2 but have come up empty. Any info to share so that I can look into this more?
Your simple Milk-maid bill doesn't fit here. Nikon Z 35/1.4 - 11 lens elements into 9 groups, incl. 2 asph), Tamron 35 F1.4 SP - 14 elements in 10 groups, 3 aspherical, 4 LD (low dispersion), BBAR-G2 coating.
@@francoismasuabi It was partly the agreement between Nikon and Tamron in 2022 where Tamron would not compete. It seems that having Tamron make the f/1.4 lenses fits that. The 17-28mm f/2.8, 28-75mm f/2.8, and 70-180mm f/2.8 lenses were made by Tamron. I think that has been widely acknowledged. I have also talked to Nikon and Tamron reps, basically together, and they acknowledged the f/2.8 zooms were made by Tamron. The Tamron rep also said that they made other lenses for Nikon.
@@marcp.1752 Your simple mind seems unable to grasp the idea that Tamron might make a new lens for the Nikon badge.
@@UnconventionalReasoning As long as you don't show a matching Tamron patent, its just hot air from your simple mind.
Why is it so cheap? It’s a Tamron. Great price.
This is an interesting statement. Where can I read more about this?
Tamron had the the best 35mm f1.4 lens for DSLRs, their 35mm was as good as Canon 35mm f1.4L II...if it's simmilar to that, it would be awesome...but I think it's simmilar optically to 40mm f2...which is still enough for lot's of people...we will see. :)
It is not a Tamron. Totally different construction and MTF charts.
It is a Nikon design.
