- Hello Everyone,
Ollie here and back with another Starcarft 2 1v1. This time Terran vs Terran.
I finally feel like i have begun to master trading units. I was lucky enough today to play a game against a protoss player who gave me some excellent opportunities to trade stalkers down.
Now i wasnt perfect, i still lost some units needlessly, but the trades i did make were so profitable that it wiped out my bad habits, which i am seeing as a win.
As always, I'd love your feedback and comments, I'm enjoying getting better with your help!

Good in game decisions ! Make orbital as soon as barracks finishes, either for economy (Mules) or detection (DTs against Protoss). Medivacs would give your tanks vision. Look less at the fight and more at your production, I know it's counterintuitive . When your floating too much cash, make another command center, or two :)

one thing I would like to advise u is
Focus ON building an army Fast FOr Economic Denial Of opponents
Rather than timing attacks and Expand and scout
Constantly
Rather than Orbital scans

yeah, that's cool advice man and totally i need to start doing more of that. some of the best games I've had have been where I've just controlled the map, not just assaulted.
your friends don't watch their own replays? its like the best feedback you can get (aside from all the awesome people here)
Also a few things with your opener a standard opener is 1 barracks makes a marine then makes a factory instantly with another barracks going down a lil after the factory starts with a starport the moment the factory is done to get medivacs as fast as possible
Make sure to get medivacs and actually use stim

great game, 2 things ill just say is still floating construct more production and medivacs for your marines

The expansion was late cutting the second refinery at least until the 2nd base is being made will make a difference. Great use of your tanks that game and playing a game of attrition forcing them to have to push into your setup. You started getting supply blocked at the end, but you had basically won already as long as you didn't full stop so that's not a huge issue. Also, after your scan at about 7;30 you could have pushed in knowing you had a much superior force, but I get the hesitation you never know if they warped in units just out of the scan. You made some good decisions that led to that victory, also that was better micro than usual you targeted the right stuff and kept good positions on offense. Your opponent was putting up a fight, but wasn't ready.

This was a really enjoyable game for me. Not because I won, but because I felt like my positional play was good which led me to trade really efficiently
Such a leap of improvement in game knowledge, mechanics will soon follow...

good improvement. a few things...late expansion , and the expansion is too close to your opponent...you need to be more aggressive on the protoss 2nd nexus/base -> priority is attack their pylons/workers/nexus, then gateways. why? because gateways are nothing without pylons and money. while killing their 2nd, build your 3rd asap after scan, so you can extend your lead by 100 miles instead of just 10 miles..if you played against a better player, then you would of lost this game to counter attack+defensive play because you kept on stopping/starting attacking their 2nd nexus/workers, etc.. then the game ended. should probably think about stim/medivacs as well.
Hey, thanks for this, you’re absolutely right. I think subconsciously if I havnt defeated a big army I’m always wondering what they have up their sleeve. The reality is I probably need to be much better at scouting.
You are 1000% right on the medivac and stim combo, I need to get better at that.

@@Voidspacealpha yeah, I mean scouting=scan in this case, that's why I'm saying, scan, then go for your 3rd, while finishing off their 2nd. I think you'll be more aggressive with more experience.
I’m a bit conflicted because I’ve been told not to waste my scan and just get better at scouting, which I think is fair tbh 😂
@@Voidspacealpha scout=scan then decide. He could go zealot charge drop and/or counter with prizm which is worst case. In this case you scanned, which is good and its an obvious fast 3rd for you. If you scanned and saw twilight and warp prizm- signs of counter, then your 3rd can be delayed imo
