ARMA 3 : LEARN HOW TO LAND A HELICOPTER
This is the 2nd of 3 videos where I teach you how to land a helicopter in ARMA 3. I've got a link down below to the first video of this series, so make sure you watch it before continuing onto this video. I am confident you will be able to land a helicopter playing ARMA 3 by following my techniques.
In this second video, I will explain the concept of the coordinated turn and how it is critical to achieving a fast, precise helicopter landing in ARMA 3. I also explain the idea of plotting your landing zone and landing on the "mark"! A skill rarely exhibited by other helicopter pilots.

Glad to see not all the pilots have left after coming back.
I'm stubborn 😆
Saw another guy explained this same thing, been trying to get it for a while - he did it in 25 minutes and I understood it only after watching this. Very very useful 5 minutes.
Thanks for watching! Happy to hear I was able to help. Once you learn these steps, your landings will progress very fast!
Wow man, this helps a lot, I’ve been super over complicating things
It's positive comments like this that keep me motivated with making videos. Thank you!
starting to decrease collective at 500-600 meters and starting to turn to my LZ helped me so much edit: ty i can land almost anywhere i want now
That's awesome! With this solid foundation, the sky is the limit 😎
I was eager to come here and make a strong critique against another video of yours on such subject - mostly because I do almost everything differently. But then I remembered that I crash - a LOT.
So I will just say THANKS. Again. 😁😁😁😁
Resistance is futile!
Excellent !
Glad you like it!
Hello, Ive been trying hard to learn this, but I always seem to "overshoot" the last part of the landing ( 3:30 ) and it has been driving me crazy and im not sure why. I always end up like 20m far from the point or im forced to do a really hard turn on the end. Any ideas? I could send you some video of me trying to land. I'd like to improve, but I have no idea what im doing wrong.
Hi, you've actually touched on a topic that I left out of the video. Overshooting the mark is common when first learning to land and my advice would be that if you are going to overshoot the landing, do NOT try to turn harder to land on the mark. Instead, if you're overshooting, just continue the landing to a new location nearby and focus on the landing technique.
Also, a common mistake that people make early on, is to approach the glide phase to the mark from a to narrow angle to the mark. Take a wide approach, you'll scrub more speed and will be able to make minute adjustments easier.
Just to followup, offset farther to the right when you start your glide to the lz. And focus on technique and landing closer the the mark will come with time.
@@realgrumpyjoe Hello, my apologies for the extremly delayed response, I quickly read through it once when busy and then completely lost it in the notifications box on youtube. I really appreciate the help, I will try to use the tips and work on it more, cheers!
No worries 😀
