Hello! I have been enjoying your videos a lot to the point that I think I have watched all of your matches, hope you keep it up and have fun with it.
I also played waaaay back then a little bit of wings of liberty multiplayer and just recently came back, although I already struggled my way up to platinum in a short time (practiced a lot with a protoss friend of mine so that helps)
However, answering your question on how to counter what got you to lose this game, you are missing 2 very important things.
-Marauders, those stalkers blinked in your tanks over and over, focus firing them, marauders DESTROY stalkers and most of the protoss army really.
-And second, and probably even more important, those marines maybe could've won those fights.. if you had stimpack, Terran infantry is almost worthless without stimpack (and medivacs) so if you had stimpack, those marines would've killed way more stalkers that were wasting their focus on your tanks, marines shoot insanely fast, so pair that with marauders, he would've had no chance with that stalker/zealot army
There's other things to talk about, although I wanna mention that, you obviously have way to many minerals and you really need more production buildings, a big chunk of these matches you're trying to either build or rebuild your army from almost one barracks with a reactor, completely filling the queue, that's really really slow and very ineffective with your money, the idea is to have a bunch of barracks (yes, even in the early game!) so every building is producing at once, obviously it depends what you want to build, maybe you wanna focus more on tanks (mech) or get your infantry up really really fast, although that's a completely different topic
(also if you focus so much on marines, definitely upgrade them, it can be quite important)
Well, sorry for typing so much, I'm just having fun watching somebody else relearn the game, struggle, win, etc and wanted to share a bit of my input, hope you're still having fun with the game and wish you the best!
(also don't worry of not being able to talk while playing, I've seen pro streamers that are just quiet playing this, an as someone that has streamed JUST the campaign, its REALLY REALLY hard to talk and play with this game lol)

Firstly, thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying all the matches, that’s lovely to hear.
And yes, I get it, marauders are my pals against stalker, and I promise I’m on it.
Don’t be silly, no need to apologise for typing loads. I love reading this feedback. Tapping into the resource of people better than me (which is a lot of people) is what I love, and this community is full of kind hearted people who just want to help, honestly been blown away by the reception.

Remember, a fully saturated base can support up to 4 production buildings. There are exceptions like, if you plan to expand quickly or your build heavily invests in upgrades. However, that wasn't the case in this game. I know it makes you feel vulnerable while you're spending the cash but once you got all the buildings up and running, you will roll over the enemy.
Another tip, once you see the opponent produce 4 of a type of unit in the early game, you can make a guess that he's going to use them in his build order. You need to counter it. In this case, marauders were necessary to counter his stalkers. It would have made a huge difference in the engagements you lost.

      Yeah totally. I get that.

@@Voidspacealpha yep. this guy is right, marauders are good vs stalkers, and @ the time he paused, you did well to expand. However, when expanding 3 bases vs 2 bases, you can't then take a direct trade, as he is more army focused, you're more eco focused. I think there are two things in general: 1) try an early reaper to disrupt his workers/scout in case of proxy.. even reaper rush build for lols. 2) when he paused -> don't drop a single tank, at least do a hidden drop of your full army to mess up his worker count & army @ his first.

You know when you say that, it makes so
Much sense. If I’m spending my money on eco, I obviously don’t have army (yet to brawl). Thanks for that, lightbulb moment for me

GG m8, you didn't over produce workers, you actually did a good job there, it's best stop making workers after you have 80 or so, it'll all make sense in the long run in macro games
And Remember to set a benchmark on when to make more production structures, the games you lose are because you don't have enough stuff overall
, just add 3 barracks for every full base you expand to until you have 8 to 10,and add a second factory after your second base

For the blink stalkers/charge-lots you need to have your marines ahead of your siege tanks to put their army just in range of the tanks, but not close enough to blink in without suffering losses running past your marines. If you had stim then doing so would be total suicide for the stalkers/zealots keeping your marines and tanks together was your mistake that's an easy fix though.
You did great making workers and keeping units flowing, but you forgot to build important structures for quite a while. You are still getting used to having longer games though you'll continue to improve. btw, congrats on passing 1k subs your channel is growing faster than a wildfire keep it up.

In a straight up fight, marine marauder medivac will put stalkers into a trash can. Even straight marines will win in a relatively even (resource wise) fight. Your problem in that at 17:30 was that you fell behind on macro. You were behind on bases and therefore had a smaller and weaker army. You also didn't stim or have medivacs. When Protoss doesn't build splash, you will run them over with stim bio and medivacs. They will never be able to win an efficient fight against you. In fact, a marauder is cheaper than a stalker and will win against one in a duel. 3 marines will also beat or nearly beat a stalker in a straight up fight without any upgrades. What you should've done in that fight with that army was stim the marines, a move towards the Protoss, siege the tanks, watch the fight.
Stalkers have high single target damage, low health, high speed, and long range. This means that they outrange marines and can kite them to death. This is not possible with stim, medivacs, and marauders. Marauders have even range so they can shoot at the stalkers, medivacs will lessen the stalker's damage and allow you to heal from stims, and stim lets you chase them down. Blink is mostly a defensive move that the Protoss will use to escape, chase down units, or sneak into places. With bio tank vs stalker, blinking onto the tanks means the bio will grind them down. In that fight, you'll notice the zealots getting onto your tanks. This is a big reason tanks suck in TVP. Zealots can close the range and make the splash damage into a liability. Zealots are weak to stim marines, widow mines, and ghosts later on. A trick with zealots is that they have charge which can't be cancelled, meaning you can pick a fight with a Protoss army, and run away stutter stepping causing the zealots to leave the range of Protoss splash units which lets you kill them off for cheap.

Honestly not a bad game from you at all. You eventually lost because of the upgrade deficit that made his units just that much stronger but I wouldnt worry about that yet at all.
You got a really strong 3 base economy going this game. If at around 9 minutes you bump up your production capabilities, you win this game for sure :)

Check out my comments in a previous video about blink stalkers ( ruclips.net/video/19diAJclEgc/видео.html ) - a few Marauders makes a big difference. Definite improvements - good to see medivacs and tanks sieging.
some other things to think about
    - I notice all your movement commands are normal move commands - try an attack move (select unit/s and hold A and left click on the ground) units will move there and attack enemy units they come across while moving.
-Repair - any tanks or medivacs damaged repair them.
    - Don't build an SCV until you upgrade to an orbital and use those mules.

i think one flaw in your analysis is you say "I overproduced workers and what i should have done is focus on unit producing structures.", when really you should have just produced more unit producing structures, you had the resources in the bank at that point you could have produced more structures without sacrificing worker production or anything else. always be careful not to criticize good habits

    • @Voidspacealpha
      @Voidspacealpha  4 месяца назад

Okay cool, makes total sense, thanks I’ll try and remeber this. I know unit producing structures, particularly in a longer game is a weakness of mine

  • @MrDenniy

Try to create a statement of how you intend to win. There are many ways to approach the game, but you’ll improve a lot more with a clear goal. “I want to hit with the biggest army I can make by 8 minutes.” Or “I want to defend to 3 bases and 66 workers then max out on bio and hit with stim, combat shields, and +1/+1.”
Once you know what you are trying to accomplish, it will be a lot easier to decide if what you are doing is supporting your strategy.
In terms of this game, you spent 12 minutes trickling tiny squads in against superior forces while largely ignoring your infrastructure and production. If instead you built your army up to the 10 minute mark and hit with 150+ supply, wouldn’t matter what he built. If you lose with 2500 minerals in the bank, thats 50 marines that were never even born.
Your replay analysis at this level, should be focussed much more on how you executed your build, your macro, and benchmarking game-to-game.
The play-by-play of your skirmishes isn’t necessarily wrong, its
just irrelevant because you could have either A) had 3x the amount of stuff at the time of your assault, or B) hit the same assault 2 minutes earlier (against half or less the defense).

    • @MrDenniy
      @MrDenniy 4 месяца назад +1

No need to specifically counter stalkers. They are a pretty poor unit damage, health, and attack speed wise, and only really good with meticulous micro. Just need to build enough stuff, and not throw units away in bad encounters.
