Lots of tips in here but just wanted to say this was a great game! It felt more like a serious game of starcraft than many of the ones I've seen recently. You pushed with units from all three major production centres, you had some success and stalled out as zerg massed up, they counter attacked - these are all actual ebb and flow starcraft moves. In particular the zergling counter, this is a permanent fixture at higher levels but was probably one of the first times you've ever had to deal with it, on the fly, while learning and trying to speak at the same time - of course that's extremely hard to handle.
I think you played better and certainly played a game that looked a lot more like real starcraft than those 2 base pushes where you took out a protoss who wasn't ready. Chin up! More impressed with this loss than some of your recent wins!

Few tips. Generally, you only want 2 units building in each structure. If you order like 4 tanks in a factory, 3 of those aren't out and they still take up the resources. You generally want 5 barracks, 1 starport, 1 factory mid game, and you should make even more for late game. Against a zerg, you want to wall of your natural with supply depots and engineering bays. I rally to my third base so a zergling counter attack will get killed by that and the other bases are planetaries for me. A big issue during this game is that you didn't have stim which is the big strength of medivac bio.
Left click on the repair button to enable auto repair. This is useful for when you bring in a mule for repairs, though in the early games you should be spamming mules on your minerals to boost eco. Another trick with medivacs is to press d, then left click the medivac. This will make them drop marines while moving.
It's good to see you using medivacs to drop harass. That can be really strong in lower leagues because of how it throws off concentration. I actually suggest you suicide drop because at lower leagues, the efficiency won't matter as much and you'll be able to slowly learn the multi tasking. Here, you command a medivac to drop and ignore it. Use this time to attack another base. This will pull the enemy army out of position. You can even do the reverse where you drop first causing the enemy to engage the drop while you attack with your main army somewhere else.

12:03 Coulda done with three more barracks. Think about it as batching tasks up. You’ve already remembered to make production, it only takes a split second longer to start 3 barracks than 1. Furthermore, they will all finish together, so you can batch the reactors, too!

7:44 if you want to build multiple supply depots, use multiple workers. It’s gonna take that poor dude 2 minutes to build all of that but you’ve tied the 400 minerals up already. You can cue workers back to mining with shift so they don’t end up on idle afterwards.

I do use the shift click to move them onto other tasks after building, but didn’t think about adding more builders to depot production

You’re aggressive push was good but then he bogged you down in a no-man’s land. If you had killed his third and gone home, you would’ve been in great shape, instead you got stuck in a spot where as soon as you unseiged, he was going to jump on you and wipe your army. When you didn’t unseige he hit you where you were weak instead. Really well played by him to not panic and find a better decision. Keep in mind, creep tumors give vision. If you are standing on creep and haven’t killed the tumors (need to scan), he can see you. Opponent had 500 MMR on you which is a pretty big gap. so not surprising he outplayed you. Facing stiffer opponents is a sign you are doing well.

Oh I didn’t know tumors gave vision. That’s so important. Thanks.
All the more reason for me to get that second orbital up

That looked pretty good. In time you'll get faster. Against zerg, you need to either wall off or use a bunker/tank combo at each expansion. Avoid fighting on creep. Lastly, you need more production buildings. 4 per Base.

So something no one else is pointing out; this game has camera bookmarks. So you can push Ctrl+F1 and then push f1 to hop back to the spot the camera is set at at a later time. Also you can put all your production buildings on one control group and use to cycle through them.

@@Voidspacealpha the camera hotkeys is important-> ruclips.net/video/t4Ml0nAWcig/видео.html&pp=ygUSY2FtZXJhIGhvdGtleXMgc2My your thinking is good in the first 6 minutes. after killing your opponents 3rd base (you may see this in the mini map), you should then instantly pickup your army and drop it in your opponents 1st base while simultaneously sending marines/tanks to your opponents 2nd or go home. Instead you hang around (I saw someone say "sit around"), decide to build an exposed 3rd base. it's like trying to stamp on your opponents toes instead of going for the neck/head. when that many lings attack your third. cancel the build to save money,.

22:05 early game it hurts to loose overlords, later realize that the Zerg can start 5 overlords all at once and in 30 seconds have 40 more supply cap. Its always annoying to lose them but only particularly painful in the early game.

    Ok few things.
    1. The original tank push was great until you stopped moving. Remember that zerg can build workers or army. But they can really build a lot very quickly. Every second you sit around is more time for them to hatch.
    2. It's worth blowing a scan to clear off creep if you are going to sit and macro a bit. Zerg creep is really good it's kinda like giving any ground unit a stimpack, which...
    3. I need you to use your T key. I'm not joking when I say several battles in this game would have looked completely different just by the power of hitting one hotkey. I love that you've moved your medivacs with your marines, you've gotten better on when to pick up and not pick up in one day, it's impressively fast growth. So the number one thing I want you to improve on. Hit that stimpack. And remember that unlike in the campaign it does apply to both marauders and marines.
    4. Number two thing I'd have you focus on. You keep mentioning supply blocking the enemy. I get it, it's one of the biggest things you are struggling with. But your enemies are not tending to have that issue. I've seen you attack enemy pylons while the enemy is attacking you, this game you let a few very expensive ravengers go because you were focused on an overseer with the intent in your words: to supply block him.
Because I am playing skyrim atm: "Eyes on the prey, not on the horizon."
But again, just very impressively fast growth, I am quickly losing my confidence that I can beat you, Keep up the good work.

Firstly, thanks for the feedback, I
Love that I keep seeing you here and your words have gotten me better. Thank you so much.
Secondly, I appreciate your kind words. I like to think I’m doing okay but to hear I’m growing fast is amazing. Just want to enjoy the game and get better as a process.
I’ll take this on board, and I think for my next few games I’ll actually try to use stim in battle.
      Thanks man, love you xoxox

Late third base you will want to get a quicker timing on that it's a pretty important mistake that you make pretty often, but I have to respect the engineering bay you got one down this game that's awesome. The medivac harass worked well to you kept an eye on it, but remembered to keep up your macro you are getting better and incorporating more elements into your midgame keep it up.
Also, you made a couple micro mistakes that were a big part of what went wrong when you had your units camped at what would be his third and he went to attack your base you could have base traded him by closing up your wall-off, and getting a couple tanks built/sieged in your main you likely would have won that battle. When the banes came out you can highlight a couple marines and send them forward to basically force the banes to trade much worse than normal.

medivac has an ability "B" - to go much faster for a short period of time, don't forget to use that

  • @TrainerBoom12n
    @TrainerBoom12n 6 месяцев назад +1

You need to use command groups instead of the F2 key to control your armies. You pulled your medivac full of marines away from his base when it was doing good harass because you pressed F2 to defend an attack.
You also should default to attack-moving your troops instead of just right clicking. There were a few fights where you didn't even fight back
You also "panic click" you units a lot which is wasting a lot of your ability to micro. For example with tanks just right click 1 time, then shift-d to queue up a siege while you control your marines and use stim
