Nice game but you have to practice more on your initial build. You need to know what to build next without thinking. Now it looks you are struggling to remember what is the next step (I assume you have a different builds against each race, so I can understand that). Especially the first 3, 4 minutes should be flawless as there are no so much interactions with the opp. Another hint is when you see mutas, place the turret in the middle of mineral lines, so they cannot engage from any angle. The turrent to kill overload 07:52 is pointless. If you have 4 hellions do not try to kill queen. Immediately ride behind minerals and try to kill as many drones as possible. Keep the first reaper under the hotkey. If you see it is attacked you can easily take him back. Before zergling speed you can save him this way quit easily. Lets face the true, the opponent wasn't very demanding. It won't be so easy on this level every time anymore :D

GG Well Played . . . Perfect Response and Nice Timing Push before he can go for lurkers Tip: "2 Main Styles of Midgame" 1. Direct Approach (Army-1st) = Currently Your style, where every time you have enough army for a Big Push, you just bulldoze your way full force (again and again) until Opponent can no longer defends. BUT If he do manage to defend until the Map is almost covered by both of you, it will be a full Lategame Transition by then Best for: Zerg: Roach Style Protoss: TossBall Style Terran: Tank Style 2. Evasive/Indirect Approach (Economy-1st) = Like a couple vids ago where you focus mostly to gobble-up the map. Unlike Direct Style where every push aims to forcefully win, THIS style uses the Pushes only for DISTRACTION and keeping opponent busy and in-check, while MOST of the Focus is on EXPAND-EXPAND-EXPAND until gobble up the entire map as far as you can. After gobbling most of the map, you can do any Army Composition you want from Midgame Army to Lategame Army, its up to your preference.😊 Best for: Zerg: LingBane or Muta Style Protoss: Gatemen Style Terran: WidowMine or NonstopMultiDrop Style Note: Army Compositions used for Direct Approach can still work on Evasive Approach as long as you spend mostly on economy and less on army

4:25 You’re thinking drop, but you scouted a tech lab on the factory and early starport. Should also have tech lab starport builds on your list alongside tank drop (if tech lab stays on factory)-raven, BC, or banshee. Some of the subtleties of scouting.

Thats the benefit of constant, and starting early, harrass/aggression: if you dont loose to much, you not only have a chance to inflict dmg but you also scout, you force him to reveal what he is up to.
It's been a long time since I've seen your videos and you know you've truly made it once you start getting BC spammed game after game. The counter to BCs really depends on the stage of the game because they get exponentially stronger late game. Marines are bad against BCs because of their heavy armor and the fact that marines need to stand still to attack. BCs can also fly close to an edge to minimize the amount of BCs in range. Early game though this is fine because marines are so much cheaper in tech and unit that you can easily outnumber them to the point it doesn't matter. They also reverted the cyclone so they're much better at taking down BCs early on. You want to kite the BCs by moving the cyclones out of range once they lock on. Cyclones have a bigger range so BCs can't really kill them. In late games though, you need the factories to be making tanks and yamato can pick off cyclones even if they run away. Cyclones also need a long time to take down BCs so it's not very efficient vs large groups. The easiest solution is mass viking tank marine. Vikings counter BCs but you want to use their range to kite the BCs and minimize damage. BCs will pick off a few with yamato but vikings are so much cheaper and they produce a lot faster so in the long term it doesn't matter. In the early game, you could just rush down a BC player like this with marine cyclone viking and it's probably one of the better choices. Even if you don't win the game, you can still do a lot of damage to the economy. In the mid to late game, try to hit multiple bases with marine tank viking. Just remember to keep expanding. You have an army advantage and you can control the pace of the game. BC teleport has a long cool down. Just keep the vikings on them and you should be fine. You can also go BCs yourself or mass raven viking in the late game.
GG Well Played . . . Finally a Perfect Counter to 1Base Tank Drop Openner 👏👏👏 Next Step will be Prioritizing the Key Units, You still losing VIKINGS when it "SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE". On most engagements, you "Stim and Micro" the Marines BUT in this case you should just leave the marines to distract the BCs while you "Stutter Step Backward Micro " and "Focus Fire Micro" the Vikings to Deal Damage
Your gas in the natural was quite late, but getting a reactor on starport was good! You should always do that (unless you do some BC rush). The 1st mine should be by or slightly right of the extractor. A fun trap to set up is to bury 4 mines and siege a tank over them. :)
Welp, comments here put everything in a nutshell.. But just to summarize: Liberators, DON'T RUN to enemy siege lines. Scout and harass. Also you didn't have combat shields haha, keep an eye on that.

Congrats on the win. 28:48 the thing about these planetaries + tank position is you can just walk by them, You could have just gone to his natural or main, and this entrenched position would be tottaly useless.

Tip: "2-Major PlayStyles" 1. Heavy Assault Frontal Push = this is your style, Mass Up thr Army then Try to win with a bulldozer Push. In every Push that doesn't work Slowly Switch Army Compostion for the Next Stage. Stage1: (EarlyGame-Midgame) •More Marines vs More Marauders •Few Tanks, Vikings & Medivacs for Support Stage2: (Midgame) •Half Bio & More Tanks/Mech •Mass Viking Style vs Mass Drop Style Stage3: (Lategame) •Few Bio for Support & Distraction Drops •Mass Lib Style vs Mass BC Style •Add Ravens and/or Ghosts 2. Evasive Assault Indirect Push = although you never intended to, this was the style you basically did about half of this game. The #1 Priority is to Expand, Expand & Expand some more. BUT to keep opponent Busy from Pushing to you, you create Chaos by putting fires everywhere (Faint Pushes) until you gobble up the Entire Map. After you've conquered most of the map U CAN DO WHATEVER U LIKE Stage1: (EarlyGame-Midgame) •Multi-Bio-Drops without losing any units just to keep him busy •Few Tanks & Vikings on Defensive Positions •Expand to 5-Bases early if you can Stage2: (Midgame) •Mass Drop Style Everywhere •Ready to switch to "Heavy Assault Frontal Style" if opponent is doing something cheeky or if his countering you •Expand to half of the Map if you can Stage3: (Lategame) = Same as the "Heavy Assault Frontal Push"
So, This was a game of someone who knows how to fight but not macro vs someone who knows how to macro but 0 idea how to fight. In the end the macro won but... wow. That was extremely painful to watch. True after you had 8 base to 4 it was slightly moot point but truly those were... very ugly engagements. So I want to make this very clear. You won on your macro. Which is great seriously. The fact that you managed to always keep expanding was what won but please don't ever take fights like that ever. You have a habit of playing terran like protoss. You just A move and assume you can smash into anything and that's really not terran's thing. Like please. Play some protoss, because zealot/immortal/archon is the type of army you wanna have if you gonna keep running directly into enemy tank lines. Please show slightly more subtly OR TRY PROTOSS ALREADY. Keep up the good work.
There is definitely that bad habit of putting a bunch of random units, random numbers of them and watching them fight hoping they'll win.. game doesn't work like that for sure
Coming from one side in an even game with Zealot /immortal/archon against a sieged tank line with bio in front is a suicide. You need to at least go from 2 sides for it to work, which isnt as trivial as it sounds.
according to my calculation you need at least 11 marines (no stim) to kill a single thor.

Try to better group your vikings and kite the bcs. Its quiet exhausting micro speakin' but for him too to pursue your viks and be at range.And upg late game important (vs bcs a lot) , and last you should try to hotkey the vikings or the marines separately on your attacks on turet and pfs. But quiet legit macro. Perhaps too much starports built in reaction, but hey as you say, it is a very stressful game! GG

A looooooot of mistakes. However I wanna point out how much effort you wasted taking down that planetary. Not only it took you like an hour by having one tank per attack. Not leaving units on hold position making your vikings die before they fight the Banshees and a bunch of other things. But don't be surprised at all for that BC mass. You left his main completely alone and never scouted once. When people mention that you need better scouting is not just early game. Its ALL the time. Also you were very slow using that tank squadron to take down his bases. The guy wasn't even defending them right.
Hey Jan, You know I went back and watched this one so many times, and I have to say I completely agree with you. I should have been looking to deprive eco and control the map. That kind of aggressive scouting could have won me the game I think

Do you know Vikings can kite BC endlessly? Ive won so many games with my one base tank Viking because the BC comes in and two Vikings can kill it without taking any damage. 100 percent worth the micro in that case. Don't let the BC engage. BC are an amazing late game unit. Absolutely recommend them. But get upgrades! It makes a huge difference in BC v BC fights. Hfgl.
I was so flustered this game I totally forgot to get my armouries down. Dosent help me single engi bay got destroyed early and it took me an age to rebuilt. A lot of mistakes in this one, but I relished the opportunity to practise my macro for sure. And yes, I hate micro, I know I need to practise, and I should have with the vikings
Unupgraded marines do decidedly poorly against 3/3 BCs. Gotta stay on the upgrades in a game like this.
You know I was just responding to another comment on this. I think I got thrown off my stride on upgrades because my engi bay went down early and I didn’t rebuilt it or anything armoury until way too late. Totally agree on the marines, but I felt like I just needed something 😅
19:04 this is the moment that all of the stuff we’ve been saying about base layout comes into the spotlight. Your base is half gone, and you still cant move your army around your base!

@@Voidspacealpha Funny thing about Starcraft is there's a bunch of little stuff that only matters in like 10% of games. But if you wait until it matters, its hard to understand why people are picking on a seemingly nitpicky detail until you run into one of those 10% of games. Base layout is one such detail. Sometimes the plinko board helps keep him out. Sometimes it keeps you out. Terran is different though, in that they have variable base layout. You can use the depots as the obstacles so when you need to get in, you can lower all your depots and have superhighways around your base.
Also as a tip, 30 minutes on RUclips searching "Terran Base Layout" will probably be move valuable than 5-6 games of trial and error. One of the fun things about SC2 is there is so much player experience to draw on that you can literally just look up the best answer (for simple things) and incorporate it into your play.
GG . . . Well, Going Full Assault at a SINGLE Hidden Base and lost the army 3x was a definitely Bad Call making you behind in the Army Count. IF ONLY HE WAS CRAZY ENOUGH AND MASSING ONLY BCs, THEN SACRIFICING A LOT OF BIO TO DESTROY HIS EXPANSIONS WOULD BEEN TOTALLY FINE😂😂🤣 EVERYTHING You did was FINE except for TWO things: 1. DO NOT LOSE VIKINGS (RAISE THE VIKING COUNT) = I understand splitting is difficult but atleast U should have Microed the Vikings (Hit and Run Style). I've seen you do "MOVE AND SHOOT FORWARD" with the BIO, but for Vikings it's more like "MOVE AND SHOOT BACKWARDS". The Viking LONG-RANGE is what makes Vikings Better that BCs. ITS POINTLESS PRODUCING 5-VIKINGS AT A TIME, IF THERE IS ALSO 5-VIKINGS LOST AT THE SAME TIME. 2. MORE MAURAUDERS (AGAINST MECH) = Against Mech (Mass BC is also Mech) you need to have more Marauders for Tanking the Splashes, such as Tanks, Mines and PlanetaryFortress. Also they Have Armor Piercing Rounds that gives more Damage to Armored Units (Mech) and Buildings (all bldgs are armored). ITS EASIER AND FASTER TO HUNT DOWN EXPANSIONS WITH MAURAUDERS.

I would add one more. Only attack planetary fortresses with overwhelming force and only for a clear strategic objective. I you don't kill it, it's literally a shut-out (happened to you three times in a row this game). All your stuff dead. Him, a little mining time and the repair cost...essentially no consequences. Even if you kill some army at the planetary (like the banshees), the fortress is so formidable that over the duration of a protracted fight the trade is heavily in his favor. So hit it hard and fast enough to kill it before it turns into a real fight, or fight somewhere else. Good micro for killing engaging a planetary is to right click your force on the planetary and then grab a small box of marines and shift-(right)click them on the svcs starting from one side of the planetary and then do the same on the other side. You probably could do this even more efficiently with Tank volleys (the splash will hit the CC anyway). This way you at least get some worker kills and you can stop them from repairing which is the real reason planetary fortresses are so invincible. Once the repair is gone or significantly reduced, it becomes a lot easier to drop the CC. You have to tell your units to kill the SCVs, though because otherwise they will prioritize the planetary. Units have a prioritization scheme. I don't know all of the details, but the broad strokes are that everything prioritizes things that can attack them first. Flying units prioritize things that can shoot up, ground units prioritize things that can attack ground, everything deprioritizes workers, observers, overlords, etc. When workers get an attack command (but not a repair command) they get reprioritized as fighting units. You can override the prioritization with micro. I think of it like order of operations in math you have to put the part in parentheses (by microing) that you don't want to follow the conventions (prioritization).

Pull four workers, no more. You missed the marines waiting at the bottom of the ramp. Maybe a quick scan or don't push in blind the medivacs, if they had just waited they could have stopped an expansion. Make the oribital before you fly it down, gains energy and adds value if it gets delayed a bit.

If that Zerg lost I would have been mad (joke). But your lack of adaptation and therefore lack of game knowledge is really bad and you'll simply not improve like this. Guy saw you making BC's.. hellions for some reason and some marines.. so what he does? Roaches to counter your ground and Corruptors to counter those BC's. You decide keep doing the same.. yeah that's not gonna work. You were floating in money too so you could have adapted as well. Counter those Roaches and those Corruptors hopefully doing some real damage.
You’re bang on right buddy. I think I even mentioned it in game, that he knows what I’m doing, and I still failed to change anything. If I’d have gone marine tank with a few marauders in that moment, I reckon I’d have had a decent chance to gain ground
These is How I counter Early Mass BC as well except I would have half the map in the 20min mark (he still has 6-Bases). Then I would followup with Vipers then Infestors, BASICALLY Continuing BCs is pointless 😂 I believe I already said Mass BC is Lategame, basically after you've conquered almost half the map so nothing else for me. THOUGH its OK to have a couple of BCs for harassing only in the early and midgame BUT Mass-ing them early is Basically GGs.

You don't have to just eat those biles. You can see where they are going to hit and then move out of the way. Cool idea with the 2 offensive planetaries.

GG . . . Your Transition to Mass BC @20:00 minute mark was great but your Production Buildings & Economy didn't caught up with your Transition. Tip: "Lategame Transition Requirments" = Before Transitioning to Lategame atleast get these very essential requirements as fast as you can during the Midgame. (some can do these in the 15-min mark): • Economy: 5-Bases must be already have been acquired. Lost Bases are included as long as your income is worth 5-Bases. (Lategame Army are super expensive). FOR BETTER PLAYERS, THEY WOULD CONSUME HALF THE MAP IN 15-MINS THEN SURGE-IN THE LATEGAME ARMY WITH 5-STARPORTS. • Production: Have Atleast [5-1-1] for Bio & [1-5-1] for Mech BEFORE having those 3-Starports. It allows you to Quickly Transition Back to Midgame Army incase he Full-On "Anti-Lategame" Army (Mass Viking)
