Hello , i have same car my clutch was sleeping so i change it and it is still sliping can u give me some tips or it is normal for new clutch to sliping a little bit . Does it need like some time to broke in like brakes or something thanks.
I think he means how much oil does it go through. Mine drinks oil almost like petrol. Mines burning oil though. Alot of peugeot 208 owners say it chugs through oil. @@restoringsalvage
Hey man, really helpful video. One question though how did you drop the gearbox and housing? did you strap it to a jack or did you have a proper trans jack? ta!
@@restoringsalvageThanks for answering another quick question how did you get the drive shaft out of the gearbox? I don't seem to be able to move it out far enough to pop out
@@TheHoff2324 Im not sure at what stage you are at but assuming that one end of the driveshaft is already removed from the knuckle just get a pry bar on the gear box side and it should pop right out!
It was at least 6 hours, but I think we could do it a lot quicker now, as it was are first time lol and getting the gear box out and back in ones all the bolts and drive shafts are out it quite difficult!
I didn’t need to as I didn’t mess with the hydraulic but it’s super easy, there is a bleed nipple on the slave cylinder and you bleed it like you would a calliper!
Wow FairPlay mate you got the skills. great video.
Thanks 🙏
I have got the same Peugeot as the one on the video, my clutch is really really high, changing the clutch would help with that?
Yes absolutely I would also change the flywheel I should have done that as well!
i just changed the clutch and flywheel on my 2012 MK3 Megane 1.5 dci, really complicated as the french are xD
Great work!
Yeah I’ve only ever changed French car clutches lol but will be changing a e46 clutch soon might try make a video on it and thank you 😊

Did you change the flywheel as well? That’s probably your problem!
@@restoringsalvage no and u change it?
I have single mass flywewheel and old clutch was more worn on flywewheel side
I didn’t but if I was to do it again I would! Because if it’s worn out you’ll have issues with it!
Do you have oil consumption ok?
No sure what you mean?

What oil did you put back into the gearbox and how much of it
Can’t remember what oil just google it, was 2 litres!
Nice work, very impressed - do these 208 have high clutches/where you able to adjust clutch pedal level?
Yeah the biting point is roughly in the middle of the pedal and I’m not sure if it’s adjustable I don’t believe it is

@tuna855 I just dropped it on myself lol and then struggled to pop it back in, best having a jack will make it easier!

@@restoringsalvageUnfortunately I don't seem to be able to get either side out, what did you remove on the suspension to give you enough wiggle room?
Great video , how many hours would you say this took on the drive? ..... Any difficult parts?

Could be done in a day then with an early start 👍
