I actually was standing in Harbor Freight last night, looking for videos on the AV-100. I watched the application speed in a video or 2 for the AV-100, and, before I say this, let me say I have some experience applying coatings and finishes, and spraying them as well. Not an expert, but I get good results. The AV-100 looked painfully slow to me. I caught your first video on the AV-200 while in the store, and that clinched it for me. I loaded up an AV-200 in the cart and made my way to the register. For $60 more than the AV-100, I know I will use this machine on more than one project, and I watched this video the day after I bought the machine, and I am even more confident I made the right decision. Thanks for the videos!
Thanks, As a DIYer I found your video very informative. I shot a lot of hammertone and wrinkle finish with high end siphon guns in the day, but know little about HVLP sprayers. This sprayer looks good for the homeowner DIYer like me.
You are a natural speaker/teacher. Make more videos. Reduce the number of missteps (the ones you point out later) by preparing a list of topics in order that you want to discuss then do a clip for each and edit them together. It doesn't have to be all one take.
Hey vic you ain't lying about av200 I've got it an it's a damn amazingly good unit it runs like a demon sprays kiltz like it's water out the garden hose an I'm telling not like you don't know but it's a hell of a good sprayer easy to use easy to lay down paint hell for one fifty an 8 foot by 10 foot in under five mins you can't beat the price or the quality of this unit I love it an from day one it more than paid for it's self who needs a expensive high end sprayer when this unit sprays just as good to hell with leaving it in my truck though for a back up it stays in mine as my main unit
Hey brother, great video! Suggestion for using your phone to film: put it in a plastic ziploc bag. You don't necessarily need sound, because you can overdub the video afterwards, in post production. You get the video you want, but don't sacrifice the phone. Cheers!
Looking like I m going to try one of these. Have some fence to stain and exterior trim to paint. Wife probably doesn’t want me spraying inside. 🙄 Excellent finish.
Thanks for a great video. I am just a hobbyist and DIY-er and I just want a decent spray system that doesn't require me to go get a huge air compressor, and this sounds like the kit for me. Thanks again, and subbed.
Thanks for the vids Victor. You convinced me to go out buy the Avanti. I've used an airless for house and finish painting, but this is my first HVLP. I'm going to use mine primarily for furniture refinishing and light stuff using latex mostly. I know the thinning thing, but tip size is my question. The 1mm or 3mm for thinned latex on small work?
Thank you brother great video. I've been changing all the molding in my house to Craftsman style I had an airless sprayer, but I just ran to Harbor Freight and got this one. Any experience with spraying Sherwin-Williams Emerald it's a water based urethane. Thanks again keep the peace
Fiberglass tub, Midwest Chemicals in Orlando Florida, laminate/Formica counter, Midwest Chemicals, everything was Midwest Chemicals. Tub- 2 part epoxy primer then 2 part high solid enamel. Counter- 2 part epoxy primer, multi spec then 2 part polyurethane clear.
Hey vic. Thanks again for the helpful tips. I hope harbor freight paid you for using your vids 😅. Hey quick question though. I just ordered my paints for refinishing my kitchen cabinets. It says they recommend. 08 tip for spraying. Do u think the avanti av200 will work? Can u change tips if needed? Thanks man!
Mannn no they don’t pay me 😭. The Avanti will work but you can’t swap tips, it comes with 2 different types of guns one for thick material that I don’t use and the fine finish tip. The tip they may be referring to is most likely for an airless sprayer. I hope I was able to help 😁
@@MrWatchOutNow Thanks Boss! Finished the cabinets! they cam out decent for the first try too. also i am taking your advice and offering to do doors just to get some more experience under my belt and see if i can make $100/HR 😄. tHANKS Again chief
Midwest Chemical in Orlando Florida. Just before shooting the paint I show the jugs with the information. They have everything you’ll need and ship all over the US
Still haven’t had a problem. The gun with the big tip has a slow trigger response to close now, but that’s my fault because I forgot to clean it for almost 4 days. But I can take it apart to lubricate the enclosed area I just haven’t yet because I really only use the fine finish tip
Koo. People told me not to buy the old Krause spray machine b4 discontinued cuz it was cheap and not made for heavy use. But it's been 13 months & it still going hard. They good for apartments gigs. Light easy clean up and jus get the insurance at freight and easy switch out when needed.
@@MrWatchOutNow thank you for your reply also what would you use to thin down the 2 part epoxy primer with the small tip gun and would you thin down the clear coat?
First thing you could’ve done to save it was roll over it. I wouldn’t recommend using this machine for a whole wall, just small projects. If you’re just doing a wall or 2 I would strongly recommend using a roller.

I bought that machine last week. It’s a good machine it sprayed spar urethane straight out of the can. Flawless finish try it. Good review perro
😁 thank you

I'm going tomorrow and grab one I have a couple rooms to paint for an Asian restaurant looks like it will do the job 👍🏻🤟
If it’s for latex paint I’d recommend the airless sprayer

Lol, have at it. As for the trim, if it’s not much that needs to be done I would recommend that you roll it.
Nice video. You do a good job explaining and seem comfortable in front of the camera. Keep up the great work!

Use the 1mm, the 3mm will spray too much and won’t have a good finish.
"Exact same finish quality", sold me.
Getting one tomorrow.
Heyyyy 😁, are you a refinisher too?

Not a fan, it’s too thick for the machine. You can thin it but I feel you’d like it more if you didn’t.
Thanks for sharing you information
I’m looking to get into tub refinishing business. Do you think this is a decent sprayer to get started with
Get the 3 or 5 stage turbine instead. Then you can purchase any spray gun to use with it.
Really great videos.. Im getting into diy refinishing … have you had a chance to shoot urethane like “ emerald “ on any trim or cabinets ? Thanks !
Yes, Use the oil base version and you’ll get some beautiful results

You also might try putting some clear tape on your phone camera ! Might help with your over spray !
I think I’ll just buy a waterproof case so I can shoot while spraying

Looking into getting 1. How many jobs u done with it b4 u had problems with sprayer?

Was the tub refinishing, Ekopel by chance, and what if anything to thin with ?
It was Midwest chemical and thinned with laquear thinner
@@MrWatchOutNow Thank you
Hi. I want to do my countertops with multispec. Did you have to thin it out when spraying with the big tip gun?
If it’s a fresh batch no, just stir it well. If it’s a bit clumpy just add like an ounce of water, nothing crazy or it will just come flying out.
@@MrWatchOutNow thank you for your reply also what would you use to thin down the 2 part epoxy primer with the small tip gun and would you thin down the clear coat?
This machine is strong enough to not need a thinner, but if you do then use xylene. For the clear it depends on the base(oil, water, poly)
Nice work ! Watch out now!
😁thank you
Do you thin latex paint before using? Thanks for the vid!
Yes otherwise it’s way to thick
What’s your thinning process/ ratio, etc? Thanks for the great video
