    Great Video. This is a Current Conversation that I’ve been having with myself. Ive just hired a PT and have started eating more healthy and my next step is to improve my Cardio and Strengh. Thanks for the Motivation. I like that you give your info without being boring and by being funny. Just subbed and looking forward to future content. 😊👍🏼

      Hi Timmy - thanks a lot - that’s very kind of you to say! No point in being boring about this stuff - it’s a fun journey. I mean, we take it seriously but you know - I’d take jumping out of a plane seriously but I’d enjoy it too. Actually I wouldn’t. I did it once and hated it. Maybe I should have said ‘scuba diving’ - I used to be an instructor - that would have been a better choice.
      As for you - you got it going on - that’s super inspiring! It’s amazing how many of us are starting to ‘get it’ at the moment, I think…!! Thanks for the sub - I promise that I will bring the best content I possibly can!!

    These recent videos realy resonate with me, I know there are aspects of my lifestyle that need to change, so it's great that your effectively building a like minded community, all with common goals. I do count myself quite lucky that I'm pretty active already and this body of mine us doing a pretty good job but I know I can look after it much better than I currently am.....but I will get there 😊

    Rucking is also good for Zone 2 (with enough weight in the ruck sack)

      HA! You know I nearly added that in after I said ‘walking just doesn’t cut it..’ - how funny! Yep - Fucking is a fairly new one to me but Attia and Michael Easter are big fans, aren’t they!

    I have realised recently that I am much better at sleeping than a lot of my friends - 8/8.5hrs each night, asleep within moments of going to bed and rarely wake in the night. I think part is not having children so have never had the years of sleepless nights, but routine, rarely drinking alcohol, being overall healthy I think are also key parts. Hadnt really thought about it though until listened to "Why we sleep" by Matthew Walker - some of his research into sleep is so interesting, including the benefits of sleep on sporting performance

      Prof Walker is the source of these top tips! I haven’t got around to citing in the description yet - but must! You’re right about the kids thing - like everything in life, humans are amazing at cancelling our chronic issues - only acute ones seem to stay with us - chronic sleep deprivation when you have kids is easily forgotten - but as research shows - a poor nights sleep is as dangerous behind the wheel of a car as being drunk. Everything is ruined if we don’t sleep well. Good and exercise is irrelevant if we don’t sleep properly… your sleep explains your youthful good looks (and the not having kids bit too - no doubt!) Jenny! It really is the foundation…

    Sleep is something I have definitely always struggled with. Something I deffo need to work on in the future.
    I recently started tracking HR also in my workouts to help maximise my goals.

      Good for you Mike - ‘sleep is a weapon’ - Robert Ludlum wrote this in the Bourne series of book - it doesn’t matter how many there are, how well trained they are or how good their weapons are - if you stop them sleeping - you’ll win the war

    Sleep is so underrated. Having a disturbed night has a massive impact on my level of tolerance and mood. I’m very aware of the impact of alcohol (even a single drink), and my phone use before bed, on the quality of sleep, but I just can’t quite shake either (particularly RUclips before bed 😜). Something to work on this year.

      The first step is identifying the ‘thing’ though, isn’t it! Seriously - I challenge you to charge your phone downstairs for a we we and tell me it doesn’t have a massive impact… have you watched that other ‘life hacks’ vid..?

    • @hamishbolton9058
      @hamishbolton9058 7 месяцев назад +1

      I have watched it, but probably ought to rewatch it to remind me. The phone is a terribly addictive thing. Since work from home I found myself in the habit of just picking it up and playing backgammon or sudoku during work meetings (when the camper is off). I’ve now deleted all games, and social media (apart from RUclips) from it, just to help me focus on work. There are worse habits to have, but any habit that impacts on your life and makes you feel anxious because you know it’s bad needs to be addressed. Good job my WiFi to my home office works well on my laptop but won’t connect to my phone, and 4G is rubbish where I live thankfully. I’m going to try and leave the phone downstairs (though it is my alarm - maybe I could use my watch) and start reading books again before bed to wind down.

      Use your watch - you’ll sleep better anyway so you won’t need shaking awake! After a week, I bet you’ll notice a difference.

    Love it one is a banger, knowledge and some great new terms Hester’s hierarchy and I repeat don’t call it a vedge hole 😂. Good knows I need more sleep, I want to BE more in the moment, something I’ve been working on and I need to be there for my kids as a healthy and active parent in 30 years making me 76 in 2054. ❤

    Alcohol is without doubt the thing that was killing my sleep. No booze and I wake up just knowing I've had less interrupted & much deeper REM sleep. P.S. can I wear 2 pairs of PJs (joking) 😂

    • @1stElement
      @1stElement  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hahaha - yep - three pairs of you must! So - you’re feeling better now and getting better sleep - that’s amazing news! I’m so chuffed for you man! I meant to put in about no booze and no caffeine after 1pm but I fight..!!

    I guess I don’t like my wife or maybe it’s the two daughters why I wear PJ’s
