The quality of your videos is absolutely amazing. The shipbuilding demonstration is by far the best I've seen.
I have a class-A ship that's just as fast, but this is very inspiring. I will follow your instructions and build a class-B type.
Also, I wanted to say that, in your previous video on endgame ship that has everything, and especially no ladders, (lol) of all the RUclipsrs I've seen, you are the only one who made the best version. As promised once I started NG+ I built it and it's freakin awesome. I also built another more compact version of the same ship. I'd like to share pics with you if possible.
Keep up the great work dude.

Really liking these ship design videos. My only complaint with this ship is it looks a little chunky for a small fighter. Might be a personal preference thing, plus it's hard to make sleek ships with Starfield's builder.
I really appreciate that the designs use the systems as intended without any glitched parts (which always looked offputting to me). Looking forward to future ship design videos!
Btw I also appreciated the cockpit and hab showcases. They helped a ton with picking good-looking interiors when I was first getting into shipbuilding.

Glad to hear that! Thanks a lot.
And, oh yeah, I'm fully aware that the design of this ship is... uninspiring, lol. But it was a challenge to make the smallest hard-hitting ship possible. The result is this glorified brick. 😁

Great build, wouldnt recommend ship command though, a crew of Barret, Vasco and Sam Coe gives you all the bonuses you need, you only miss out on 1 extra power and fuel cost reduction compared to a larger crew, unless I am missing something.

There is some room for optimization regarding the fuel tank and landing gear selection. By minmaxing you can get the same combat performance, more fuel and crew while only requiring two White Dwarf 3015 engines.

    • @hqgamingnews
      @hqgamingnews  Год назад

How would those changes impact the dimensions of the ship? I wanted the smallest and fastest ship possible and would love to hear what you had in mind.

@@hqgamingnews I linked an imgur album with my ship design from a few months ago under my post. You should find the link in your RUclips filter. I don't have access to the game at the moment to figure out the exact adaptions. My linked build focuses more on function and appeareance than dimensions, but it should give you some ideas. To get away with only two White Dwarf 3015 engines you need to get your weight down to 510 mass. For fuel I used M50 Ulysses, thats 80 more fuel and 16 less mass compared to your build. As shield I used the Vanguard shield with 1450 shield, its slightly less shield but also 20 less mass. Regarding landing gear you need a total of 3 or 4 landing trust. I used a single NG-20 which provides 4 trust for only 4 mass, but there should be other options available too with better trust-to-mass ratio. On my build I used the Viking cockpit as it has 4 crew to support 8 total crew (maximum) and has two weapon attachments, but its longer so if dimensions are more important then its probably not an option. For an optimal combat build you should also include attachment slots for ComSpike and Conduction Grid.

Thanks for the reply! 👍 I was so intrigued by your setup that I immediately jumped into the game and headed to the shipbuilder to replicate what you've done. 😁
With 2x M50 Ulysses He3 Tanks, one NG-20 Landing Gear, only two White Dwarf 3015 Engines, a Vanguard shield, and the lightest Viking cockpit (only 4 mass), the lowest I could achieve for the ship is 527 mass. I even removed unnecessary cosmetics, like the porthole, one equipment plate, and a nose cap.
Unless you used different/less weapons and/or downscaled the reactor and/or Grav Drive, I couldn't get the exact numbers. However, by installing the Aurora 11G Grav Drive, I could go as low as 498 mass (while still being able to jump everywhere in one go). But that requires compromises (lower hull, shields, increased dimensions) for the sake of mass and having only two engines.
The challenge was to cram as much firepower, agility, and defenses into the smallest possible profile for a Class B ship, so the Viking cockpit was among the first ones I discarded. Nevertheless, your optimization suggestions are on point, and I'm sure I'm going to use that advice in the future.
By the way, I didn't see your link in the filtered messages. I would have allowed that link to go through if I had seen it (because I like to see how creative people can be), but unfortunately, I didn't, so I apologize.

@@hqgamingnews I just noticed my earlier posts got removed. One where I wanted to share the link by masking the url. And another where I shared my Reddit profile name to direct you to my post on the build in the StarfieldShips subreddit. Somehow your RUclips filter removed them both.

Hi a friend of mind play starfield and have ship trouble. After see this video i thought you mind have a idea for what he needed. He looked for a 1 to 3 man crew ship that with max defense and speed but can still protection itself if needed and almost max cargo space. If you have a ship recommended let me know and i tell my friend.

Better view, more room while taking less space would be Tayo cockpits. Hopetech is just bulky and doesn't offer that much of a view from it. Always nice to see various ship ideas, have toyed around with small ship designs too, though I usually end up making them somewhat bigger. Main reason being - I simply don't like the idea of having important systems "out in the open", so to say. Shield generator at the top of the ship - easy target. Reactor/grav drive/ fuel tanks - again, easy targets. Sure, in the game itself it doesn't matter, but from the point of view of a design. Due to this, my ships have all those critical systems covered by outside shell/armor layer, they're literally in the core of the ship. I like to also add partial armor cover to the engines too, again from game mechanics side makes no difference as such, but still, from design point of view. And I like smooth lines, as smooth as this game allows, so I attempt to not make ships bulky or with weird sizes/corners. Which usually leads to a situation where a tiny ship will not be too tiny in the end. Can still make it relatively small and light, but armor adds some additional modules. Maybe with better mods one day can smooth the design out even more.
