Watch how Dusty plays the shots in La Grange. He doesn't play right on the beat or just before it but instead waits until the last possible microsecond. This is one of the reasons why this 3 piece sounds so big. They SWING.
Agreed. Part of their full sound is that the drums and bass are barely off time with each other. Fantastic technique - deliberate but very hard to do on purpose. Playing slightly off beat is difficult..
The were the very first band I saw in concert back in 83 In Baton Rouge that was a 2 hour drive I was 16 and had school the next day I'll never forget it .
I’ve always liked how Billy and Dusty always did different moves together. With Dusty being gone now, it’s like half of the family is gone. God Bless you Dusty, for many years of classic Blues-Rock. RIP.
Well, Elwood finally came around. He used to be pretty stiff, but I saw ZZ Top last Saturday and... he's starting to get better. They're starting to do the little synchronized movements dances again! The crowd would absolutely lose it. Just like they would've and did for Dusty.
How these guys manage to make "simple" songs sound so, so, so awesome and uniquely them is what I love about them. If you had ZZ Top play a single chord...it would sound like ZZ Top...not like anyone else playing the same chord.
ZZ Top puts the “Blues” in Rock and Roll and never lets a crowd down ever. I have seen these amazing musicians many many times and they will entertain the heck out of you hailing from the great state of Texas. I thank Billy, Dusty, and Frank for sharing their love of music with the world!! I thank Billy for sharing his love of custom automobiles in their music videos.... I love “Cadzilla.”
I hate to even think this but.....when Billy goes.....the world will have a huge gap where cool used to be....saw them back in the 70's...when they had the "wall of white Marshalls".....we left just before the finale..and they sounded loud outside the civic ctr..as we walked back to the car a block away....lol
I just saw them again at The House Of Blues in Anaheim, Ca. Just as cool as they were 40 yrs. ago. To me cool is something that just is. The harder you try to be cool the less you are. ZZ Top has never, ever tried to be cool. They just are.
They’re coming to Summerside, PEI in Canada in August. Cool is on the way. Hope he brings Pearly Gates. A guy in town has a car very close to Eliminator. I’m playing Gimme All Your Lovin lately. Make no mistake on the talent and musical genius of Billy Gibbons. The blues run through his veins.
Dusty was a big Elvis fan; he sang " I Can't Help Falling In Love With You" to his wife. What a guy. Before he played with ZZ Top, he played with Freddie King, in black clubs, when he was only 15 - he would go in with Freddie, and nobody would ask questions. It's a different world, now.
They were The very first concert I saw back in 83 I was 16 . Two-hour drive to the concert in Baton Rouge and had school the next day, never forget how they blew my mind watching them perform.
The first time I saw these guys they had no beards. They opened the show w/ Dusty & Bill sliding at one another on their knees firing spark shooting 6 guns at each other. It was pretty cool.
ZZ Top's....bad ass, and they deserve respect for still being together for 45+ years....their message is cool and deep as the Gulf of Mexico....some right on cats that dig hot-rods and sexy chicks, they didn't grow old mentally like most people do......they are young at heart and aged with times weather beating clock that we all must endure......Top is in one word (COOL).
the people complaining and criticizing this video probably heard them the first time in 1981, eliminator album, hard core fans like myself, have been listening thanks to my father since early 70's
Sublime. It sounds like 10 guy's playing. Dusty is a fucking king, All of them are. I saw them live few years ago I was blown away. Masterclass. Nice guitar Billy. Artwork.
this band has been one of my favorites since i was young long ago, way before the Eliminator album, they opened for jimi hendrix for gods sake, the rolling stones in hawaii when they was nobody and their still rockin the house, until you have done that you haven't the right to criticize ZZ-TOP people.....Texas blues rule
I have been to many a concert in my time and all the 3 times at a zz top concert has been the most fun and enjoyable also clean enough to introduce your kids to the groups of the past
Buddy of mine worked private security and had to pick up Bill Gibbons at the airport. He said he was nice but really quiet but then out of the blue he looked at my friend and said "You Hungry?' My friend said "yeah, what do you want?" to which Billy replied "Lets get a burger". They went thru the drive thru and right after they ordered Billy said"You got any money? I dont have any money." He said he got a good laugh out of that.
Kentley King Taggart - Naa-ah, Rush is a power-rock trio from that era, maybe 3 or 4 years after, and able to fill in all the space, bringing the boogie to the people. We need more power trios to play boogie for us, the pampered pop darlings just don't do it for me.
de lejos unos de los mejores grupos, mi concierto favorito es en foret national en bruxelles me lo dedicaron recuerdo inolvidable, entre mas pasan los años mejor lo hacen. Saludos Pablo
Billy hung with Jimi Hendrix, These guys are well respected musicians and leaders in the music, sound technology and development entertainment. Clapton called Billy a Musicologist and genius. The best lead guitar players and rhythm players past present and future will all KNOW HIS NAME. HENDRIX GAVE BILLY A PINK 1960’s strat . He can play Voodoo child and outplay the best
...screw the whiners...what do they know...the reverend Billy is sounding pretty good to me...and this was taken on your phone?!? Freaking excellent job...sound too!!! It's just the little ole band from Texas...that is all!
DawgYankee " do you know how much violence and bloodshed there would be?" I hate radio more than anyone but do y'all really gotta go with a bigoted stereotype? There's more violence at metal shows, for example.
Fools can show up anywhere. Color and music type doesn't matter much. As for that kinda music? I guess I am the same on that as I am on rock and roll. I like the old stuff. Stuff today sucks.
I'm an original fan.what I would love to see is a HD movie release of theWorld Wide Texas Tour. Loud and proud.Bill Ha m had it filmed, when the guys were young they really tore the roof of the joint.I'm getting old to, every body slows down.most impressive concert I ever seen, and being a Texas man it made me proud to be a rock and roller.if you younger fans want to see what all the fuss is about, start a Campaign to make it happen. And while I'm at it I saw the Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs tour don't know if there's any film but would be cool if there was.I've seen you tube clips of the Texas tour on RUclips, but the whole show from beginning to the end is what we want Right!.Make it happen and when it does make sure you have a kicking sub-woofer and the best weed, and a big screen t.v..I'm all set.I WANT TO THANK YOU
i don´t want to border y ppl, but im now 46..........since i was a teenie i was always on ZZ-Top ! i played the hell out of the walls of my room......!!!!
Says Billy is Net Worth: $55 Million! He is doing this now out of love of music and fans. NOT money. This is how to show them young ones how to do a LIVE show. No tapes here! No auto tune here!
Chrissy W I think Billy does it for us and he just really loves entertaining. He’s the only one of the, who goes and plays w other bands. He’s all over the place. Even joined up with John Fogerty. He will play until he can’t breathe anymore!
Well, when i look at the state of rock and roll right now, all i can say is, i hope these little fucks get it together soon man. I have faith in rock and roll, and, i know there are kids out there that love that kind of old rock and roll, but, it's lookin' grim right now man. My generation kept it all goin' strong, and it put out great stuff. This generation has really let the side down as far as rock goes. Long live rock.
The guys are almost 70 years old. What the fuck do you want? You go to a ZZ Top concert today and you see people with canes and walkers. But remember this you stupid fucks, there was a time when no one I mean no one could touch them in concert live.
Make no mistake about it, Billy gets a great tone. This is a cell phone recording, so enough said about that. ZZ Top is a legendary band with a staggering body of work, particularly their early stuff. I'll be the first to admit that I don't like Franks drum sound anymore, but they're still amazing. In the seventies there wasn't a live act that could touch them, talk about thunder and precision. Kids today have no idea...
You answered your own question. I'd rather spend 2.5 hours at a live ZZ Top show than watching a football game that's TOTALLY staged for a T.V. audience. He'll they came jam through LA Grange for 2.5 hours and it'd still be better than the football game!
R.I.P Dusty you are a Legend now.
= RIP ZZ Top
Do a 'TRIBUTE' tour for Dusty Hill, hang both your hats on the mic stands and leave the stage with dignity
Now a legend? They been legends for 50+ years
A legend now shit they been legends

Dressed. Just like the. Album cover.
Rest in peace.. Amigo dusty...

Three dudes creating the most incredible bluesy rock music you could ever wish for...
The ultimate rock band. So so good. All 3 legends. A big part of my life from day one. Billy is just so cool .
The way they move and communicate...they're all awesome.
STILL PLAYING THE SAME 3 CHORDS FOR 50 YEARS, SOUNDING BETTER AND BETTER!!!!!
I don't care what anybody says, Billy Gibbons is THE definition of cool...something the world is in pretty short supply of these days.
I hate to even think this but.....when Billy goes.....the world will have a huge gap where cool used to be....saw them back in the 70's...when they had the "wall of white Marshalls".....we left just before the finale..and they sounded loud outside the civic ctr..as we walked back to the car a block away....lol
No Doubt about it, Don't know of anyone else who looks as cool having someone else light his Ceegar for him...

Always managed to have fun with their popular songs. Changing it up enough to have a good time
Dusty now shows the angels how to play the blues. They will love it as we loved it.
This is one band I always wanted to see live and never did and now I will never be able to. One of the coolest bands of all time. Rest in peace Dusty.
They were The very first concert I saw back in 83 I was 16 . Two-hour drive to the concert in Baton Rouge and had school the next day, never forget how they blew my mind watching them perform.
The kids were young then. I was hooked on ZZ Top. I've seen them 6 times. They're old now..
They really enjoy what they do, which is great.
The first time I saw these guys they had no beards. They opened the show w/ Dusty & Bill sliding at one another on their knees firing spark shooting 6 guns at each other. It was pretty cool.
Luv me some ZZTop, and Billy Gibbons is one of the coolest dudes on the freak in planet
I bet you be loving some good tasting Jemima pancakes to, day is the best in Deland

I do have mercy billy, I do.
Keep rocking.
the people complaining and criticizing this video probably heard them the first time in 1981, eliminator album, hard core fans like myself, have been listening thanks to my father since early 70's
And ZZ Top came rolling in and stole the show.
living legends music doesn't get any better than This!!!
I only wish I could have seen these great musicians life. I sure missed out on this concert.
You and me both. I would like to have a jam session with these guys.
God bless
My most favorite thing about Texas is ZZ Top!
I found them in the dictionary, under "COOL".
The very very best of music ! For more than 50 years now ! That is more than any other young guns of nowadays music industry.
Best 3 piece band ever! The Deguello album/tour is still, to this day, my favorite!

They also played with the stones in Dallas that same year. They were el-fantastico.
Even tho it rained on them they kick sone texas butt two days in a row
Love These Guys...... made my day
RIP Dusty and join that band up in heaven. You are so missed.
I got chills watching this
Dusty Hill, blues walking bass perfect! R.I.P. idol.

PURE GREATNESS IS ZZ TOP!!! REST IN PEACE DUSTY HILL.
Nothing better than seeing THE TOP in their hometown of H-TOWN BABY!
Love them guys. Been for 30 years. Thanks for the video, been 8 years since i saw them live in Sweden.
Thanks ZZ Top - Was great to see you in Adelaide in 2000 😎
And they do it again in 2017. The only 3 guys that can sound like about 10 of them. Anyone here in December 2020?
I know what you mean. One of my favorite bands has 8 people now, but doesn’t have the power of these boys.

Their moves their style, everything, they just kind of ooze cool. Never was a huge fan til I got older, but I sure am now
Just won tickets to go see them! This will be my 65th different band seeing live! I can’t wait!
Now we're stuck with halftime shows that rely more on appealing to 15 year olds with a box of tissues more than actual good music
Lol. The funniest thing I've read in months.. and so damn true! Were the last of the Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers.
Exactamundo ! ! !
FYI this was not a halftime show. 2017 had Lady Gaga, so it was already too late. ZZ Top did hit the Super Bowl halftime stage back in 1997 however.

Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill...original Texas cool.
Had a great time at the Superbowl LI Party and the game the next day. My wife won us an all expense paid Superbowl trip from the MO. Lottery.

For everyone whining about this performance and Billy's tone: You're watching for free and it was uploaded from a fekking phone.

Ask them to tell you who out there is better today than these old bands that we love. Then, get ready to laugh your ass off at their responses.

If it wasn't about money you can bet Billy Gibbons would be donating at least $1000000 a year to charity, naive teenybopper
