My people in America need to start thinking like you. The world is fine and the downsides are nothing like the ones here. The food is healthier for you and the peace of mind is better for a person of color.
I have friends in smaller city NewYork that pay more in RENT and electric ONLY than i spend in a whole month here working and living in bangkok..and that covers all in life..food clothes living transportation and internet etc..and the safety in Thailand is on a another level..a hard-crime against a westerner is so rare that it gets nationalnews in a country with +70 mil people
My condo that is about 30 min with mrt subway from that but are pretty similar in standard with pool gym and free wifi cost 290$ a month + government rate electric and water (about 35$ a month)
Wow man that is inside good deal 290 month with wifi and the amenities.
Thailand has nice accommodation for very reasonable prices.

its pretty seasonal..summer time with hot weather its pretty bad..rainseason its pretty good..
Have in mind that Bangkok is 5 times BIGGER than Newyork in sheer size and have about 8-9 million more ppl living in the mega city of Krung thep (thai name for Bangkok)
