I’m glad they give you benefits. My stepdad was hurt in the military and they won’t do anything for him. He was in a military hospital for 3 months and they sent him home for 3. They got him well enough to put him back on duty and he left as soon as his time was up. They admitted he was hurt there but still nothing and he’s 68 now and still struggling. But I give it to him he always worked no matter how much pain he was in.
So glad to see young folks getting the heck out of the U.S. Wish I would have done so when I was young. Best wishes to you two.

The U.S. is still a good place to live. If Egypt is more racist than the United States, then she could live as cheap in the U.S. (It can be done and legally). I lived in Saudi Arabia for a decade. I LOVE the floor drains in the kitchens and bathrooms. It makes it so easy to clean floors. You splash water and cleaner, scrub, squeegee, and you’re done. You don’t even have to dry it because it’s so hot and dry it evaporates in minutes. 😂😂😂
Plus labor there is cheap. I loved living in Saudi!
Why is this not a thing in the US !!
@@757Princess I’m assuming because open drains could mean more access for pests to get in. The drains have covers though. One is like a strainer that keeps things from falling down the hole with the water, and one is a cover that closes the hole entirely. 🤷♀️

I always find it interesting when people say A woman of colour in Egypt 🇪🇬 or a man of colour in Egypt 🇪🇬 because the original people of Egypt are coloured very identical to yourself ❤️.
Secondly, Egypt 🇪🇬 and Sudan 🇸🇩 used to be one country before they separated!
Across the Arab world, the original Arabs are dark-skinned complexion please go an visit upper Egypt ASWAN and you will see your same skin colour.
So much destruction has happened in today's society caused from long ago and now people believe that all Arabs are not coloured there is a huge debate on this but knowing history is extremely important.

@@SabeeraHausa That 's not true,we were never black or dark skinned, stop these lies otherwise I will report you and the Channel to Tourism Authorities in Egypt. We take this matter seriously, and If you wanna live in Egypt, you must respect people's culture and follow the rules of the country. Any African person enters Egypt will promote the Afrocentric nonsense will be punished severely.
No, trust me, even though there are plenty of Black people in Egypt, the average Black American or Black African would stand out. Most of us are much darker than Nubians and have different features, so they know you aren't local even if you dress in Muslim garb. I had people staring and approaching me all the time to ask where I'm from. I didn't really have any issues with racism, it was actually the opposite. People were very friendly and wanting to engage with me.
I lived in Alexandria and the people there were wonderful. Most of the Black travelers who said they dealt with racism and aggressive behavior were in Cairo. I was told that even other Egyptians can't stand Cairenes lol.

Well I still experience stress had many stressful occasions. But depression no and lot less fear.
@@sweetrollin,Well actually folks experience different types of stress depending upon the environment , climate, language ,physical and occupation. We each handle things differently .
SAY IT LOUDER.
I think the women in those countries beg to differ
The people in countries with wars and food shortages don't have any stress? What about in countries where the government controls your life? In places where you can't live freely as a woman and have many different freedoms taken away, they're always happy? If that's the case then why are people always trying to leave those countries? I wish people would stop spreading this delusion. The whole world is stressful.

I know someone who went to Egypt as part of a Black tour group vacation. Egyptians kept calling them “chocolate” & they had to hire body guards for single women in the group because local men had zero respect for women who were not accompanied by a male.
That was true for me in Cairo. Males kept calling me chocolate and people wanted to touch my locks. However, I never really felt in danger.
Yes, I have gotten this in the US parts of Ohio and the people weren't mean they were just ignorant and fascinated with me. They didn't know my hair was soft and wanted to touch it. Ignorance and being ignorant as black folks say are two different things. I believe her experience though. Sometimes living next to people makes it worse. Somehow they think they know you and they only go off the media vs when people only get media they don't know frfr and they are more curious to see what you are about. My car stopped I had two men pushing it before I could get out to see what was going on. We call them the good white folks but seriously as someone who is called Oreo because of my speech and education and lack of experience in inner-city struggle life I do fine with people who are ignorant to who I am vs both sides that assume and want to put me in a box.
People don’t realise that Egypt is a Muslim majority country👀
Yeah everyone has a different experience.
Chocolate is a compliment, in my opinion!!!
Thanks!
Thanks for this great video. I was stationed in the Sinai in 1990 (near El Arish) in the Army and lived there one year. Fell in love with the country, the people, the food, just everything about Egypt I love. Trying to talk my husband into us moving to Egypt for our retirement.
Egypt is a cool place to retire
Hopefully, her rent will stay the same after these videos. She's fortunate and blessed .
Very Nice place Chey! 😊
El Gouna is an outlier. It's a bunble. You can't use it as an indicator of what life is like in Egypt. Central Cairo or Alexandria whole other ball game.
Can you elaborate.... what's different? Medical care or safety etc. Thnx ☺️
@@bcl5667 Exactly what I said. It's a bubble. It's an enclave of affluence that's far removed from the reality of the majority population. For one thing these enclaves are very westernized. They are removed from a lot of aspects of traditional culture. For example , if a man wears traditional attire he'll be restricted acess to any upscale establishment even if he's wealthy and can afford it. I've seen women cussed out for trying to enter a restauraunt simply because they were wearing headscarfs.
It is good that you are having positive experiences. May you continue to do so. My only criticism would be that it is not correct (and is actually harmful) to state that you get what you put out. I, for one, have experienced racism without putting out negative energy or having any negative expectations of the people that I was around at the time. That way of thinking seeks to hold the "victim" responsible for the actions of others ("well, if you were a more positive thinker, it wouldn't have happened...")
I think that she is saying don't sweat it, don't let it racism bother you. If racism exists, and it does, don't allow it to steer you off course. If you concentrate on your goals, then when racists or negative people in general come around, you will clearly be able to recognize them because you didn't have preconceived notions to begin with. For example, it would be foolish on my part to go into a basketball game and assume that the referees are going to make calls against me because I'm a good player. That negative type of attitude would ruin my entire game. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Their true colors will either remain the same or show up eventually. And Allah knows best.
You’re only a victim if you “choose” to be.
