I had student citizen journalists on scene as the shooting happened.
They had already remarked to me earlier in the day that security was extremely weak today specifically.
Wilmer- Hutchins highschool. Shortly after classes assembled an argument broke out between a Trans black student and a Hispanic classmate. The classmate was shot in the leg. None life threatening. Trans black student detained on school grounds and in custody. Students kept in dark from information for over an hour, parents for over two hours. Parents where kept outside and given paper to write their children's names on. Ongoing investigation into the cause of and lead up to the shooting. No further information available at this time
It was not a trans black shooter. Both the victim and the shooter are African American. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Last I checked, Wilmer-Hutchins is an area of high crime and thuggery... chances are this is gang related. Pure speculation on my part, but I think it's a reasonable guess.

@ArmedAndIndigenous I own and shoot a gun. You only use it in self-defense, not saying not to ever use it, but you as a gun owner must use common sense in certain situations, other wise you will find yourself on the wrong side of the law

I bought a gun last month. I had to go to the sheriff's office with my DL. Once there they did a background check while I sat at this table completing these two forms. Passed the background check and was then issued a handgun purchase permit which allowed me to purchase the revolver I wanted. Not over yet, upon arrival at the store to pick up the gun , two more forms had to be completed.
Have no idea where you live but this is sure not the case in Nebraska. Furthermore, there are 12 offenses that will disqualify one from being issued a handgun purchase permit in this state.
