The issue is that they setup camp, not because they are protesting. House Bill 1925 which was passed in 2021 makes it illegal to setup camp in unapproved public places in the state of Texas.
The fact that the local D.A. has found it impossible to press charges against these protesters strongly suggests that Abbott and the state don't have a leg to stand on legally.
Now we know why most are saying Americans are hopeless. They can't even tolerate one of their own. I am sure there are many that are clapping for the arrest of these students. That's Americans for you.
Question: Exactly what specific law (or laws) are these protesters supposedly violating by assembling and protesting on the UT campus which, after all, is a state university, and is therefore a public space???

Media needs to report the true nature of the peaceful protests. For the most part they are anti-war protests against the killing of innocent Palestinian civilians. The DA dropped all charges. This why police officers feel like doing their job is pointless.
imagine getting arrested for DEI bs?

When you're outnumbered 100 to 1, yes, being screamed at is horrifying.
Werid they found baseball sized rocks and ... wait for it... soda cans. Ever been hit by those? I bet not.

Not only that. There is no Palestine. 😂
Wonder how many of the protesters are LGBT. Let's see how much their lives matter to Palestinians.
A reporter rather than a stenographer would have relayed what the protesters said to her as well…

Governor of Texas stressed on freedom of speech in college in 2019 but not the Palestinian or pro Palestine. Not this one though!
