We actually had the news on for what ever reason, watching the protest. I remember seeing the live feed of officers laying dead before the news people knew what was going on
For the historians - this narrative is inaccurate because the shooter was never inside the library - nearby but not inside. The library was closed and the library entrance was never breached. The diagram was never configured the way shown and a side hallway is missing.

The only people that can own a machine gun are those with a federal firearms license (so firearms dealers, or civilians who go through all the paperwork and fines associated with the process), it has to be registered with the ATF, and cost between 10-40x the more than a normal semi-auto. Please check your facts before you post something that is entirely untrue, enough people don't understand guns and gun laws and that's leading to more and more people wanting guns and the second amendment taken away.

The earliest video and eyewitness (who also filmed some footage from a balcony) indicate that Johnson was inside his SUV when the initial ambush ensued. The cops need video of Micah firing south of where we see him shooting at the parking garage. It's highly doubtful any such video exists, but if it does there is still evidence of more shooters.

This is factually wrong. The shooter didn't sneak up on officer Tomson. Officer Thompson attempted to sneak up on and engage the shooter. The officer failed and got outmaneuvered. Sadly the officer did not possess the tactical skills required for this kind of engagement. The officer was used to dealing with civilian type shootouts. This guy was using guerrilla tactics even if he wasn't that great at it. Guerilla warfare is a bitch giving an advantage of 1000 to one when done correctly. If one not so great guerrilla fighter can do this kind of damage imagine what 10 really good ones could do. This is the same reason we can't win in Iraq and Afganistan after trillions of dollars and endless troops fighting 50,000 poor people in rusty pickups.

That is where the shooter was wounded. He outflanked this officer by firing to his front, then coming up from behind.
He didn't "sneak up" on that officer. He laid down covering fire to the left side of the pillar and made the officer take cover. As the officer took cover he flanked the right side of the pillar. It was a very basic, but well executed maneuver. I'm glad they blew up that son of a bitch with C4.

According to the footage, he didn’t shoot the officer from behind. On the contrary, the officer approached from his right when he was shooting at the glass door and shot at him. He immediately decided a quick maneuver and flanked the officer from the other side of the pillar, caught the officer blind spot but not behind. Micah seems like he knew what he was doing in live combats, always on the move, quick, and not hesitant.

Once a round is fired the shell from that round is AUTOMATICALLY ejected, fresh round is AUTOMATICALLY loaded into the chamber, and the gun is AUTOMATICALLY reset/cocked to fire that round. It's an automatic rifle or a semi-automatic rifle depending on what word you'd like to use. Note how he didn't say "fully automatic or semi-automatic". If you want historical precedence consider the original name for the Colt M1911 pistol which is M1911 Colt AUTOMATIC.

I was getting off work and used public transportation. I was waiting for my bus at the Rosa parks stop near where Brett Thompson got ambushed. I witnessed him take Brett’s life and I hit the ground so I wouldn’t get hit by a stray bullet. There were people just walking around not scared. I’ll never forget, RIP officer Thompson and all the other officers. I also witnessed a car driving down the tracks and cops stopped them at gunpoint while I was walking my way out of downtown. So glad they didn’t shoot because I was definitely could have been hit by a stray bullet.

The Dart Officer didnt get snuck up on. He was trying to PLAY HERO WITH A PISTOL VS A SEMI AUTOMATIC WEAPON. He had all the time in the world to retreat. He shit and at the shooter and pissed. The shooter noticed turned and gunned him down. A mistake that cost the cop his life.
I think he knew what he was facing. He decided to try to stop him and save others' life. Sadly he couldn't.

He wasn't playing hero, he was doing his job defending the innocent with his life against overwhelming odds. If he lived to tell the tale, that's what he would've said. That there's no need to celebrate him, he was simply doing his job.

This is some shit you do when you have nothing to lose, or want to die a martyr and be remembered. This was no random attack, he did for obvious reasons. Takes a shit ton of courage to do it though, and alone especially. He will definitely be remembered as a part of history, so I guess it was worth it for him in the end.

If you havent seen it, watch the actual video of the officer being shot at point blank range. The officer is hiding behind a pillar as micah approaches. Micah fakes two shots to the left side of the pillar , and when the cop went to shoot at that side Micah goes around to the right and catches him from behind. Pulling off something like that in a life or death situation is insane

Cannot believe what I'm reading in these comments. How can so many people honestly wish death upon another person they do not even know? Police officer or not, you do not know his or her story. Loved ones will mourn him exactly as much as you might mourn someone you lost. It is inaccurate to say that all black people are criminals and rapists, right? Can we use the same example for police officers? Are all police officers killers? When you are wishing death upon a police officer, you are wishing death upon another human being, not his badge. Is killing the answer to killing?
