Thanks for the video, same issue with my 2020, failed 500 miles before the warranty expired, dealer was booked up for 2 weeks and was only 160 miles over warranty when they diagnosed it and Ford refuses to do anything. At least they were nice enough to put the part # on the work order.
I have a 2020 Ford escape two and it’s gave me an engine light and the codes were the purge valve and every time I fill up my gas tank I have to press on the gas so my question is do you know where it is located in the vehicle is it under the hood or I heard someone say under the driver seat, I want my stepfather knows about cars but just this this is a newer car so I can’t really find any videos on it. Would you know anything?
@@nicholasvasquez3669were you able to figure it out? Had the same issue and had to give it gas after filling up. This is because the valve gets stuck open. Waiting for parts to come in 🙄
great video. can anyone tell me why ford insists on putting half the damn engine bay under the dash? just changing the battery on half their vehicles is a huge pita.
Well, Thank you. Im having the same issue with my 2019. Its really a great car, but the bullshit on these newer vehicles.... Ill stick with my 72 Monte Carlo again after the winter is over.
so with the 2019 you have to take the whole entire thing out to replace because the hoses are connected to the valve?? places have been trying to charge me 500-700 to get this replaced which literally looks like the easiest fix ever. parts are also cheaper to buy yourself
If someone can comment back, I have the same issue with the 2020 Ford escape. I have my engine lights on and when I put gas it struggles to start I just don’t know where it’s at located at I would like to know maybe I can even fix it I just can’t find it anywhere online.
@@brausosa2272 You can buy the valve separate, however it is heat shrunk onto the houses .....so it would only be a work around while the whole assembly is on back order. Assuming you have some mechanical experience, and needed it to get going in the mean time.
It was leaking too. Because my shop is so noisey with music in the background I really don't get a chance to film to many videos. wish I could do more.
Thanks for posting this! I have this issue in a 2017 1.5 turbo Escape Do you know if the part comes as a whole unit like the video and if it is the sane part number? Does the solenoid needs to be replace as well?
It does come as a whole unit. However, some auto stores will only sell the valve or solenoid piece. You have to look specifically for the whole assemply. There are also two versions of it: with solenoid and with purge.

Hey do you mind sharing the part # with me, I also have a 2020 ford escape with similar issue but I don't know exactly what part to look for. Thanks!

This is the best video on this problem I've seen.
Thanks!!
Thanks for the video. Another fine Ford design! I would like the last couple hours of my life back
Wow I came here for my 2021 escape and now I see it’s a common thing for the escape purge valve is what I need smh already
Thanks so much for this video. Going to be replacing this valve in my girlfriends escape tomorrow
thanks for watching

I need this part/harness purge valve for 2019 2.0 Ecoboost... put a link here? Thanks
Same here. Anyone know OEM part number?
The green parts on the hoses act like quick disconnects, you literally push it in and pull it off to take it off you didn’t need to use a pick lol
Exelent 🎉🎉🎉 brother
I can’t get it to unclip how did you get the white tabs to slide out after you removed the red tabs man I’m stuck
I know I'm late but clips like that, once you get the tab out, push it in and then pull.
Part number?? I try to buy in ford parts but I dont have part number.

Yes this one whole assembly.
Were can I find this part you are removing??
Any auto parts store or the dealer

Mine has the same problem. I just don't turn my car off when I pump gas anymore. Dangerous, I get that but being stuck at the gas pump is no good.
Thank you Sir
link to buy that plz
You need a special type of tool though for the clips that he doesn’t mention. You can’t do it with just your fingers and a screwdriver
Those clips are not easy to disconnect
Yes there is a special tool but not absolutely necessary. A small screwdriver will work just fine.
Nah you just need a little screw driver and to understand which way the clip needs to go to release
So u can't just buy the valve? It has to be with all the hoses?
yes. it comes as a complete assembly
@@blkthunderbolt thank you

@Alexander E yeah I got it taken care of.. but i had to buy the whole assembly
@Carl-nv8vkwhere did you buy or going to buy the whole thing?
Can’t hear you with the motor running. Bye
Do you know the part number
