Austin, one of the reasons that I subscribed to your channel and interact with you is that you come across as a genuinely "good guy". I don't know you personally, but through your videos and your interactions with people in your videos throughout the years you've always come across as warm and empathetic. You never judge and seem to try and see the best in everyone and each situation. I like that kind of positivity. This has nothing to do with the GTD, but the kind of person someone is means more than a car so I wanted to share my views. Of course I hope you get the GTD too, but if you don't - eh, there will be more cars.
Austin, big corporations often use a metric to establish a score. Once that is complete a group will establish the viability and feasibility score (Business case value). so now you'll have who's qualified and who will provide the best return to Ford. Then they take a number of those allocations and give them to VIPs. Whatever left is then sorted by build / cost and customer priority.
Bet your bottom dollar Ford wants the biggest splash first to drive the interest up.
Outside of VIPs, a large social media presence will probably be first. I don't have that due to work restrictions but hopefully my other things will help to offset that. I'd suspect you'll rank high given the criteria on the application.

I’d say you have a private collection rather than a public collection… like a museum. But you’d be a perfect person for Ford to give an allocation to.
Hi Austin, You’re right to think owning competitor autos could help or be a hindrance. So could half of the other questions. You don’t really know their motive in each question I think you’ve done the right thing by being perfectly honest I have my fingers crossed for you.

I'm pretty sure I'll be seeing you enjoying your GTD. I would think that it is very important to Ford to get the car into the hands of serious gear heads, like yourself.
It is the influencers who will champion all of Ford's hard work putting the car together. Is the gear-headed influencers, not the guy has the pristine collection, who will keep the legacy of the mustang alive. I believe Ford values that legacy above all else.

I think you will get picked because they will make more then people will even apply (unless they are making super limited and less then 100) first there’s not many people buying 300,000 dollar cars. Second those who are are not thinking of FORD mustang when spending 300,000 dollars (GT DONT COUNT). Third people who are going to spend this much aren’t going to think yeah ima go beg for a ford mustang hence why there won’t be many applications.

I was thinking the same thing with the collector car tab. That makes me think of all the people that don’t drive their cars and just let them sit in the garage, you like all the Ford GT owners that sold their cars with delivery miles.

Hope you get the car also in my opinion you’re influencer. After watching your videos I started to track my mustang march 1. Now tracking my tracking my motorcycle Kawasaki 636. Highly recommend you try out motorcycle track days. The adrenaline rush is like nothing else.
Seems like you’re on your way getting approved on this application. When that happens, can’t wait for you to see what the GTD can do on track.

Without a doubt your a loyal Ford customer and have owned there best your if they want real feed back I say you will get this allocation
Option wise I have seen that some of the options might be the magnesium wheels, front and rear carbon fascia and maybe even active aero. I am curious about what interior options there might be. Ford may have a few different tiers of desired owners. I think you have a good shot on owning the car. I look forward to watching your journey unfold. Good luck!
I applied as well. I didn’t check the car collector box as I dont accumulate cars. I’ve bought a bunch of Fords and specifically Mustangs over the years but I’m always upgrading to the next model and ultimately sell the old one.

You should definitely be able to purchase a Mustang GTD from Ford based on the Fords that you've owned and raced on the track! You check more boxes than most RUclipsrs. Drag Times is the only other RUclipsr that has a similar car owner resume, but even he doesn't do track/road course stuff, primarily drag racing.

I think the limiting factor is probably going to be whether they trust you’ll keep the car for 10+ years or sell it when the content has been made. Best of luck!

I wonder if owning a Ford GT is an automatic approval.
Wondering myself since I owned an 82 Capri RS 5.0 since new... 42 yrs of daily driving. 371k on the engine alone!
I don’t think it should because so many people that were given the privilege of a Ford GT sold them with delivery miles.
