  • Slipping Clutch! In this video I discover that my 2005 Suzuki SV650S clutch is slipping. At the end of the 2013 riding season I removed a Yoyodyne slipper and re-installed the stock clutch, so I assume that I put it back together incorrectly. After the stock clutch was re-installed, the bike remained in storage until recently. I do a lot of my own maintenance on my Ducati 848, but I am still learning all of the nuances of the SV; if you have any comments or recommendations on where to start, please post them below. I will document the repair and upload it as "Part 2: How To Repair a 'Slipping' Clutch." This video also applies to the V-Strom. Thanks!

I can't provide much input on the 650 since I haven't taken the clutch out on my 1k, but I'm curious on why you took the slipper out? Good luck with "Part 2"

I removed and sold the slipper along with all of my track body work and gear for this bike. My initial plan was to sell it as a 'stock' bike but it's such a great motorcycle that I decided to keep it. I will be using it as my 'street' bike. The 848 is pretty much dedicated to full time track duty. Are you planning to do some Mid-Ohio track days on the 1000 again this year? If so, I look forward to seeing you there!

***** That's the plan - we'll see you out there on that pretty Duc of yours.
