Seems like I made the right choice to order a clutch kit a few days ago. I tried tuning the clutch cable, but either it slips when I open the throttle or it still binds when I pull the clutch lever. The latter is how I bought the bike, and is probably the reason why my clutch is burnt lol Thanks for the video!
My zrx1200 is doing that now but not so hard. Can still get on it pretty well but it seems 4th gear and 5th gear slip if i drop gear and get on it. Thanks for the video, i wasnt sure exactly what it was but this sounds exackly like mine when it does it. High rev, no speed increase then catch and go.
Ive recently bought an RSV mille and dont have this trouble but it wont clutch up wheelie in 2nd gear like youd expect. Instead it seems to just slip the clutch and then accelerate like hell once youve released the clutch lever. Sign clutch is on its way out? Apparently it had a new sprag clutch not long ago but seems odd it wont wheelie
When I let the clutch out (dirt bike) there is a now a moment (often) where its not engaged, then after a second it will seem to lock up and engage finally. The clutch has many hours, but I'm asking if this very specific action is pretty common when the clutch is going out, or would it likely be something else?
does the engine shake harder then usual at the same time? same syptom of high RPM and no more speed, but the engine also feels like its trying to shake itself apart. Engine revs out fine in neutral. and shakes at WOT in any gear.
my zrx1100 159000 km about 100k miles never a clutch problem,never replaced the timing chain,only oil filters and 2 times th sparkplugs, had a radiator issue due to a bad t-stat ,that locked and bluow the bottom radiator line,other than that,never an issue and by the way i always used 10/40 castrol car motor oil the cheapest i could find,that motor went on another bike and was recycled,and runs like a rolex,i went to a kawa z750s 2005 that i am super happy about if i am on this page is because i do have a issue ,loud gear box and a short squeel in the morning when it goes into gear, also at ih speeds it seems to find asecondary neutral goin from third to fourth gear

I mean the bike may already be in the maximum speed for that particular gear. then in that condition bike cannot go faster than that speed even if the rpm is increased. Please correct me if i am missing something here...
and as i found out also check the steel plates too ..sometimes the clutch is fine (the cork part) but the steel rings burnt and shot .. so probably change all lot for peace of mind
aw man my street xr400 is starting to do this, not nearly as bad and still totally drivable but I've noticed the clutch slipping when gunning it in a higher gear it revs up for a quick moment then the clutch grabs again
So I think my situation is the same as this so, ya of course if I have a fast bike ya know, I wanna do some races and stuff and I recently had a little race a little bit ago and as soon as I gave it gas it did basically the same thing to where my rpms would go up but not my speed and then after a little bit its like it caught on to the gear or something and then it started accerlating but then I shift onto the next gear amd give it full throttle and again it seems like I am in neutral for a sec and then it catches on and starts accelerating, does this sound like a shot clutch or is this just somethimg wrong that I am doing?
My bike fazer6 02 is like this the last month full trottle the revs gov up but the speed dont maybe 50mph max through all the gears runs and idles fine but soon as you open th e trottle goes nowhere would it be the clutch

Yoy said replace the clutch what if you already replaced the clutch and your on a brand new clutch what if it was an old clutch that wasnt working properly anymore so you bought a new clutch and that new clutch gained slipping from first drive what do you do about that
Mines slipping only at high rpm, 9-10,000 rpm, it's an fz1. I lose all power up there and engine still revved out. I also cannot shift from 2nd to 3rd at high rpm, probably same in all gears. It still pulls like crazy up to 9000 rpm. I have to let engine rev down to around 7000 to be able to upshift.

I bought a new chinese motorcycle with cg125 engine, exactly same symptoms high rpms but low speed. everything is fine carb engine revving as it should .in first gear the bike should jump when I give It full throttle It just lags like the power is not transmitted properly.
I recently changed chain and both front and rear sprockets. After replacing the chain it got loosened frequently. After few weeks there's a noise coming from front sprocket area. And gear shifting and acceleration wasn't smooth. I got it checked from a mechanic but he said it's all fine. And now there's a noise whenever I release clutch after shifting to 1st gear. It only happens in the morning or after keeping bike stationary for few hours. What could be the reason? I recently changed clutch plates as well.

I once changed just friction plates on vfr 750 and it still continued slipping. I recommend changing the steel plates too for piece of mind( unless you're sure they aren't warped or glazed) New spings are a must too!
adikxx83 Honestly my issue is budget... I can't afford to change everything. What happened is just an overlook on my part. I didn't keep an eye on my oil level so the bike got really thirsty and that's what I think did it. Replacing the complete set at just 20000km sounds like too much for me considering that it is supposed to keep going till around 50000km.

My clutch lever feels lighter/weaker than usual, it used to feel tight and more responsive during engagement, could this be my clutch going? If not what could it be?
My motorcycle turn on perfectly but does not move neither stall when I release the clutch. It's perfectly changing the gears in stationary position but it doesn't run when clutch released. What could be the problem?
@@Adikxx I’m going to replace them as soon as possible lol I figured that’s what it was and it was under warranty so it wouldn’t have cost the dealership anything to replace it, it was within 1,000 that it started slipping
@@Adikxx i’m just worried that my clutch is going to break as well yesterday when I was in second and third gear when I rev the gas it took a one or two second delay to pull forward but this morning when I drove to work, it was perfect. As soon as I switched gears and I pulled the throttle I went forward just say a prayer for my clutch please

This is more likely just an over tightened clutch cable which takes 5 seconds to adjust. If you put more slack into your clutch cable and it still slips, then it's your clutch.
@@bub305 Nah, it really is about five or ten seconds. I just did mine yesterday, trying to troubleshoot a clutch problem. The adjuster is on the clutch lever, and you just need to rotate it a few times. Sadly, it turned out mine was almost at full slack anyway, so I suspect the clutch is actually kaput.
While shifting gears...My gear gets stuck and engine makes a loud sound.... Also, when I accelerate...the pick up is after some 2-3 seconds lag... Is it gear shift problem or clutch plate issue ???

Friction plates, steel plates and springs is what i would go for. Some people go without steel plates but imho that's a shitty idea.

in this happen does need to change the metal plate cause my friction plate look not very bad . but the metal plate is burn color .

Sounds like either your clutch cable is way out of adjustment or your clutch is completely burnt out / has no friction material left

Most probably carbs. Clogged pilot jets or some other carb related problem.

New EBC clutch friction plates, steel plates and heavy duty springs cost 160 bucks all together. Cheap as chips.
Got 2k miles out my ninja 400 and the clutch is completely fuckin fried. 330 bucks for the parts to replace and 180 for labor🤦🏾♂️

There is no clutch cable. It's a hudraulic clutch and it self adjusts. You can see clutch master cylinder on the left.
It was burnt clutch.

@@bub305 don't need a toolbox. The adjuster is knurled and you turn it with your fingers.
