my 2020 yzf r6 slipping at 10,000 rpm in 3rd-5th gears. this started around 8,000 miles on the odo, now im at 8,200 miles and its still happening despite my attempts to adjust the clutch cable. Im using shitty, chinese aftermarket levers however, may be part of the problem but idk, worked well with the levers for at least 2,000 miles. lmk how yours is doing now.

I adjusted my clutch cable and cleaned and lubed my chain and I haven't had any issues again luckily.

@@TheLoneRider4Ever did you have the issue again? I’m having the same problem 8,500 and it’s in 6 gear going from 110 it will just high reve and no power to the wheel. I thought it was my sprocket too at first 😂

Did you ever figure out the issue? I have a 2018 r6 same problem.

@@brentwright8009 no I didnt, had the sprocket and everything checked and it was good. Ended up selling the bike a few months ago with 12k miles and never had an issue with it again
I'd check your sprocket and maybe loosen your clutch cable and see if it still does it.
And honestly changing a clutch isnt really all that hard I've changed one in 45 minutes in the middle of a parking lot.
So if yours does indeed need a clutch just grab a couple drinks and a friend and you'll have it done in a Saturday!

@@brentwright8009 I had to replace the clutch discs, it was about $200, I did it myself, it's easy.
You don't need to drain the oil FYI and be careful when tightening the clutch spring bolts, they don't need to be super tight, just firm.

For one your not suppose to downshift and let the clutch brake for you at high rpm hence why it is slipping in the first place.

I'm not sure you quite understand how gears and an engine work. But that's called engine braking and people do it all the time.

I agree. Just trying to give advice. You want to blip the throttle and rev match when you down shift. And not let the clutch take all the stress.

Tire 🛞 is slipping, not the clutch!
