This game I was allowed on France and had a great time testing out a new build which kind of became the meta the past few weeks in the mod which I will link for once XD. The french showing the overconfident germans whats up is a good summary of this game.

Nothing makes me happier than a really good France game, a really good Italy game is second, just because France has it ever so slightly harder.
Italy is easy to defend as long as you fortify Sicily and Southern Italy. The North is literally a natural fortress
@Keeps agree. Italy is pretty hard to master in a multi and requires lot of attention. If you lose in africa then you're 99% done. The funniest MP i played was funny just because the italian players were great, not only they held a year and a half in Africa with little to no support from Germany, but then they retreated well and defended the balkans and italian peninsula on their own like fucking monster. I was playing as Hungary and the Soviet front was just as good, 4 players in the URSS among the best, they held like MFs and got crushed in early 1944 after terrible fights and after axis almost lost. The allies abandoned the italian invasion after unsuccesfully trying it for a year or so and landed in France and Netherlands they basically took benelux and france when we finslly capitulated URSS in the urals, got in the west and fought even harder. The frontline became massive and the game unplayable as there were thousands of divisions, we landed again in africa because the allies were trying to land all over germany and had a lot of fun but eventually we stopped playing because it was too laggy. That's what happens when there's good players in Key nations, the Italian main was most of the time giving everybody else in the axis instructions and it was so much fun. Such a great player

I have never heard of such idiocy as being forced to delete units and stockpiles. Playing against people the idea is you win or lose.
Yep but people reserve days to play this games, and they usually last for 6 hours, if you make it unplayable after 1h, its kinda fucked up so they have to fix it, this games are not played dayly

That they let Germany carry on was one thing - I'd argue part of the appeal of playing France is the prospect of playing the post-cap stage, and they did give Dankus the credit that he had already won, so I can see how you might fall on one side or the other of that issue. But if the host is just gonna screw over one side of the Spanish Civil War because they're winning, why even allow volunteers there in the first place!? Why not just pull up the console and cap everything for the Nationalists, if you're just gonna try and hand the Axis the win anyway?

I tried to play as an agressif France one time in a public lobby. The host was playing as Germany and wasn't very good at the game since he had almost no airforce in 1939. I managed to push him back to Munich but then I got banned for "cheating"

I think if something like France winning happens, there should be a contigency plan where people agree to do something ahistorical like Commintern versus Allies or something instead of telling a player that he should just give up.

I have 700 hours on hoi4 all in single player because the first time and if I am right the last one I played Italy and because the UK player just put crappy division in Africa I managed to reach the Suez canal, from Ethiopia I went north to unite the front at this point the host(USSR) stopped the game and he said that because they were playing an historical game Italy should not win in africa therefore I needed to retreat all the way to el Alamein and abadon Ethiopia. I said that's the dumbest shit I have heard just because Italy was incompetent in ww2 doesn't mean that you're forced to lose on hoi4. At this point I wanted to really quit the game but seeing me be at least decent and for the first time not against ai i didn't left. After that the UK player literally didn't put any division in Africa and when I managed to literally just walk in he again stopped the game and this time he asked me to delete all the infantry I had in Africa I said him that the UK player was exploiting this stupid rule by simply not putting any division and he said that was fair because he still maintain the historical territories. At this point almost all the players left and so I did. Don't know if the UK was his friend or just a complete noob after all it was a "noob only match"
Most HOI Players are not the brightest. The more hours they have in HOI MP worse they become.

Serious question, has there ever been an event where a Germany that was about to lose to France would win barb? Fully agree the game was more fun for the others with the forced surrender, but what if they instead made it an early barb with France v Soviets ala Napoleon or whatever?
Well shit, I've never played HoI4 MP, and from the looks of it I'm not missing much, things are so railroaded that if somehow, France manages to hold, the hosts force its player to capitulate... What's the use for a France player to prepare for the war then, if no matter what happens, Germany has to win ? And I get that it's done so that all the other players around the world can have something to do instead of sitting three hours then being told the game was won without them doing anything, but this sucks for everyone involved.

maybe if your going full hist. Also this germany kinda sucked lol, so whatever ig. But usually France will lose regardless but can make a lasting impact. Also most games are not historical but alt history/kinda do what you want mp. So for example french-german alliance going after a british-russia etc. All depends on the mp you are going for.
@@josefpanzer2774 in my games I tend to make it so that if a Germany loses to a France that player has a temp ban from Germany. Best he can play after that is a co-op. Sure it may ruin a game then and their but it’ll make this matter less consistent
It's only railroaded because this is historical comp MP. That's literally the whole point of a historical game, to be railroadey. There are plenty of fun non historical and loose historical servers to play on.

@@somedude8468 To be fair, if the Germany player is even more of a dogshit to the point he has to whine to the host because he can't beat fucking France with almost 3x as many mils and the various Germany buffs it's not that hard to be good. On the other hand I don't say that Dankus is a bad player, quite the opposite, he is surprisingly good but Bo's lobby is just on another level. Even Golden, who at a game for some odd reason decided to not make tank divisions when he had 30k tanks just lying around in storage and blamed Spain for not importing chromium, can easily cap France.

@@ninjartist36 aside from outdated tactics which was true lol, they DID have radios in their tanks at least the newer ones it was just Radio's that were so bad the older alternztive was litteraly more efficient especially when older tanks didnt even have them. And Maginot line was true enough a big reason not to attack because who in their right mind would abandon such such a fortification when it was nearly unbreachable by frontal assault no matter what yoy threw at it
@@Freedmoon44 If they intervened in the Spanish civil war they might've been able to secure their south flank and also realise what the Germans were doing and would be able to build tanks even better than the panzers used

Thomas, who already has an anti-Dankus bias, made the wrong call. The reality is, if Germany is unable to break France, they are to blame. France has such a disadvantage vs Germany due to all their debuffs that are hard to completely remove by 39, their industry is tiny compared to the Axis, especially in this meta where none of the Allies can help France except with air (which is, btw, non-historical, because Britain and it's colonies were there day 1).
And if the Axis, who can send more Volunteers together than the USSR and France can, lose Spain, they suck.
It sucks if you're Russia, Spain or Japan, and you watch Germany get rolled and the game is over, but there has to be a better way than taking a win away from a good France, because it just encourages people to put a bad player on France, or good players to not want to play France.
If I was host, I'd have allowed stupid stuff to happen, like Berlin-Moscow Alliance, just to keep the game interesting.
I don’t think Moscow Berlin was possible mainly due to mod restrictions. However, I do agree that maybe an allied v axis game where the axis migrate between the two sides (mainly the minors) so they still get a game and nobody is getting fucked over

France is so ‘op’ so to say, I held against the best player in the discord server until 40 and do 1m casualties on them, and they said I had to delete all my units if I reached 41, but the thing is. This was a ‘strict’ historical rule set, but for some reason, they alowed an early war, and Spain to be in the axis, or sucked, but it was foony

I want to see Dankue go for the new strat with the DLC. Tactical bombers and just destroy the enemy supply. Better yet is if you can paradrop in the game then cap the supply ports.

Frances early rearmament isnt a noob trap. Its a DLC trap.
This is since the game came out. And there were no negatives. You just got it.
But with all of those DLC you get so many requirements that it simply is impossible to have.
So yeah, paradox as always forget to update mechanics for newest DLC so you get what you get.
Who even cares if nationalist Spain loses. All they’ll do if they’re an AI is send a few volunteers and just sit around the entire game. Unless the Soviets manage to puppet them with their focus (which I doubt they have in their mod) who cares who wins?
Paradox Multiplayer always seem to be a shit show when it’s Public. However I never once heard of forcefully getting someone to delete their units because the person is being competent.
