Honestly putting Dankus on a minor like Bulgaria does not diminish him much because his main skill is micro with fast, breakthrough units. On a Germany or Russia his coops tend to do the infantry, air, and navy anyway. If you want to diminish Dankus' impact, you have to put him on a nation that does not use tanks or mechanized.

Bulgaria is my personal favorite nation to play in Hoi4. You can united all of the Balkans for a good chunk of manpower and industry, get some nice motorized/mechanized buffs, and have a nuclear research bonus if you are madlad enough. What I'm looking forward to seeing is the new aircraft designer as you'll be able to edit rocket interceptors meaning you can possibly make some nice short range attack aircraft for support.
