    Hi Doc, I have implemented a routine similar to yours (heat compress --> NuLids device --> Restasis) but do so in the morning. At night, I just administer a drop of Restasis in each eye before bed. Do you recommend doing the same routine in the morning AND at night? Or, should there be a difference in the morning routine versus the nighttime routine?

    I am suffering from severe Dry Eye and MGD as I understand it where the Prescription drops have not really provided relief. Your videos have been so helpful and as a result, I purchased the Nulids device. My issue is that the company doesn't provide much guidance. I'm not sure whether to use my Bruder Warm Eye Compress, Eye Wipes and Hypochlorous Acid before or after the device.

    I have chronic dry eye I'm currently working on correcting naturally with moist heat therapy and massages to the Meibomian glands in order to increase healthier oil production.
    I saw the Itears 100, but cannot find any opthalmologists aware of it in my area to prescribe it for me in order for me to also produce more healthy tears.
    To make matters worse, I have recurrent erosion in both eyes which begins to generally occur more frequently and more severely around Nov. and throughout the winter months due to dryer winter air in Pennsylvania.
    I've purchased two humidifiers to balance our home relative humidity between 55-60%, and while it does help to reduce the severity of the episodes, the recurrent erosion episodes still persist.
    In addition to dry winter air causing the recurrent erosion episodes to increase in both frequency and severity, and the humidifiers aiding in reducing the severity of the episodes, could the recurrent erosion episode frequency also be a result of winter barometric pressure being different than that of the warmer months?

    OMG, I've struggled for decades, seen multiple eye Drs & have gotten very little help from any of them. I was an RN so I've tried common sense remedies, I practice lid hygiene religiously. Complicated by Sjogrens & chronic herpes keratitis & dystichias. I can't get any of the Drs to look at my disfigured eyelash bulbs & I don't have access to a microscope anymore. I've got a large corneal dystrophy & it's been recommended to do corneal resurfacing. Problem is, my corneas don't heal well. How do I find a Dr like you?

    Can dry eye be completely cured? I MGD and have been going through different treatments such as E-Eye, it has been getting better for sure but can my eyes be back to normal again?

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy  Год назад +11

      I usually try to avoid the word "cure". Mainly because there can be so many different causes to dry eye, and people are different in how they respond to dry eye treatments. But... I do think the majority of people can get to a point where they can adequately maintain healthy eyes. Kind of like losing weight and being healthy.... It's going to take some consistent work.

    If my eyes feel the driest at night while sleeping, do you know if it is due to tear glands not producing enough tears? Sometimes my eyes water while I sleep at night. It's not like I was crying due to a bad dream. I am conscious about the watering. I wonder what can that tell me? Could it be my tear glands are not producing enough tears? Could it be that my eyes are actually not fully closed and evaporation of the tears happen? 😪

    • @DrEyeGuy

      It can help... but people also can be sensitive to the ingredients in there, and so sometimes it can irritate the eyelids. There are better ways to clean the eyelids now, so you will start seeing more and more doctors move away from baby shampoo.
