Brings back great memories. Bought a tuxedo black automatic in 1979 in Philadelphia. No stripes, no cowl induction, no hood pins. LS6 with a dual quad low rise offy manifold, Center Lines. Eventually added silver hood/deck stripes that, at the time, I though was really cool. Hated the starter thought. When it was hot it hated starting. Keep finding great Chevelles!

Memories.. I owned a new LS6 70’ Chevelle, blue/white strips, cowl induction, auto that was a beast in it’s day. 13.2 @ 108 mph factory. Minor improvements, turned 11.7 @ 128 mph at Epping. Sadly, the car was stolen, most likely parted out as I own the title. Still my most favorite muscle car, enjoyed watching this classic bring back those great memories.

I ended up at a car show in the early 2000's with a Mopar and parked beside an LS6 car. Now whether or not it was the real deal well this Channel could figure that out but I remember the trunk was full of documentation and was basically a low mileage unmolested car. Owner was a hoot and he said 59K would buy it. If it was real that was a steal. Of course that was before these thing really took off on price but I remember joking with him about they will bury him in it before someone pays that lol...

Sweet! Glad you posted, I've been wanting to learn more about LS6 Chevelles.
I'd be happy with an SS 396 though. I'm partial to the stripes & cowl door on hood, I just might, If not original paint (I assume it isn't) put the white stripes would functional cowl induction hood.
    Just to drive & show.
Put back to original when selling.
    I can't help it, I watch every Chevelle video I see like I'm hypnotized..😄
Gets my heart pumping seeing a dusty one in a barn or a restored one..
Mecum had a few Tuxedo black version the last few months sell.
The kissimmee LS6 Tuxedo black conv. White interior white top hit high bid of 115k. Didn't sell. Others version sold from 60k too 90+k.
