    We all heave when we think of how long that sponge has been left uncleaned. A dirty mop can re-deposit dirt into your grout and debris can scratch hardwood floors. An improperly maintained vacuum doesn't suck (and that's a bad thing). Keep your tools in tip-top shape for the best cleaning results.
    I'll place a guideline for how frequently tools should be cleaned with regular use. When a tool is used to clean something which can lead to cross-contamination, or has been used for a challenging job (where it is very dirty or germy), clean it immediately...
    Read the blog for the entire post! I explain everything in great detail and go over a few tools not mentioned in the video.
    Thanks for your great questions and continued support!

      Broom is a good start,then a pair of black reusable rubber gloves for all the hard to reach places,then a squeegee if you want to get all the hair without turning your vac on.

    Regarding the micro fiber towels, I use many of them detailing our 2 cars, so I bought a bag of like 35 MF towels and because I have so many now, I can wash them, and only them, on a low heat, medium spin speed cycle. For drying them, the best method for getting them all fluffy again like new, is to put them into your dryer on a low heat cycle. the heat will dry them, and the tumbling of the dryer fluffs them up like new. Oh and btw, our house has never been this clean before I started watching your videos Melissa. So both my wife and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for putting the time and effort into filming/producing top quality guides.

      Greg Norton hello Greg Norton , regarding the microfiber for the car I noticed that I never been able to remove the dirt completely from it even if it's cleaned in the washing machine with warm or hot water , do you have any idea how to overcome this issue to have almost clean new microfiber

    • @BettyBird
      @BettyBird 4 года назад

      I've earned lye soap removes the Buffing compounds from them. I get them wet then rub the bar on and scrub with a stiff brush like a nail brush. It might take 2 or more tries to get it all out. And ammonia will remove carnuba just like you’d use it to strip wax from floors.

      Atef Raia i know this is an old comment but the best way i know how to clean them to get them like new is i like to wash them and then once dry i like to put them in boiling hot water again and leave them over night and you wouldn’t believe what comes out ! and i also use like a free and clear detergent !

      @BettyBird 4 года назад

      @@laurenattwood8238 I do this with my kitchen towels it really is amazing what comes out. The old pre washing machine days they overnight soaked then boiled next morning and beat with a stick how easy we have it!

    Use a seam ripper to remove hair from vacuum roller. They'll get under tightly wound strands that are hard to get under.

    I think the tool you wearing thinking about to remove hair debris from the vacuum brush roller was a seam ripper. It's commonly used in sewing to cut through thread. It works really well for me and easier than scissors.

Love the vinegar in the laundry and it also has helped from having pilling from sticking to other clothes which is amazing because I have those really fluffy dog and cat blankets and they use to always mess up anything else in the laundry (and each other because we're washing like items with like items). I too have a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Several times a year I take the container out to the back yard separate the inside cyclone piece from the container and blow them both out with my yard blower. They can both also be rinsed out with hot water afterwards, just make sure that they are thoroughly dry before using the vacuum.

    I highly recommend a "rainbow" from rexair for a vacuum. It is water based and does not contain a bag, which holds a lot of bacteria. Once you're done cleaning you simply throw away the water. It also can be used as a air purifier. I will say it is pricey but you won't regret it.

    I use an old "rat tail" comb to help get hair out of brushes, brooms, & vacuum rollers. The comb part works to lift the bulk of hair out & then use the tail end to pick out the last bits/stubborn stuff.

    A great way to remove that dried on greasy hairy stuff that some brooms acquire from high volume kitchens is to go outside to asphalt,and just sweep. The hotter the asphalt the better,you might look funny sweeping the street but you'll be laughing at how fast and effective this technique is ;-)

    I have a few questions. After learning more about the ingredients in Oxiclean, it looks like many of their products have questionable ingredients. However, the baby stain powder which consists of washing soda (sodium carbonate) and sodium percarbonate is considered safe. Is this the type of product you use to clean tools such as brushes and why did you choose this particular product instead of others such as white vinegar to disinfect? Do you recommend other options for cleaning said tools such as a blend of vinegar and water? Also, why do many people say they use green cleaners yet they mix Dawn dish soap in with everything? Dawn does not contain safe ingredients and is certainly not green. Do you recommend alternatives such as a castile soap with essential oils (such as Dr. Bronners)?

    What temperature should you wash microfiber cloths? Also, what about toilet brushes? Do you wash them with your other brushes and if so, does that disinfect them efficiently? Thanks!

    Can you do a video on keeping bath towels soft? Mine get rough even with fabric softener.
