Great Video Bud. Very easy to understand you not a lot a Big Terms like some guy's .. I'm getting a Autel x- star Premium real soon so you had some great info for me I'll keep looking for your RUclips Videos.. Thanks...
You might want to remove your gimbal guard BEFORE you turn on the drone. The camera needs to be free so when its turned on it can do its positioning acclimation process. You could inadvertently ruin your gimbal. Just an FYI. I own the same drone. I paid a little more than you but i got the carry case, 4 batteries, and extra prop guards. Happy Flying. Drone on! And dont forget to register your drone.
I'VE Had a phantom 1, 2 and now a 3 pro. 1 was a fly away, 2 Had to replace Camera after a crash lost it in an over cast sky. 3 pro, $1300 plus or minus flights and in its box since I got my autel Xstar orange. $799 plus or minus. No brainier. Bought it 9 months - a year, haven't had to up date once. Next time the dj is flown be willin to bet it will have to be updated. That was constant chore with all of my DJI's.
Thinking about using this from a boat on a lake. New to the drone world. Curious about getting it back. Will it return to remote? Hard to land on slow moving boat?
Excellent review and tips. In addition to extra batteries, an overlooked safety feature is using prop guards - I see too few on drones. I know there is a 'rule' about not flying farther than you can see the drone, but come on, who's going to stay in the playground and not explore the limits? I had a Hubsan H501s that did not record, so it's on way back to Banggood, China, and you will find dozens of videos here about modding the range. Stock it gets maybe 500m, and with mods up to 2400m or 1.5 miles. Now who isn't going to do that? What's cool is the 5.8GHz FPV that you can receive with cheap goggles like Eachine for $80, and fly like you're actually the onboard pilot. But I have yet to see such mods for the XStar. Parabolic antenna boosters, maybe a cloverleaf for the drone, could get it to 2 or 3 miles. Suddenly your playground is huge. This is my next drone. Cool video, thanks.
I love how you stress flying with care and responsibility. It would be great if this was practiced religiously. Especially with these powerful drones and any drone as a matter of fact. Thank for sharing, I will definitely consider this product when I learn to fly better. Thanks!!!
To be honest, I wish someone had told me to be more careful! lol. The first 2 crashes were brutal, and I was just being stupid, lol. Thanks for watching fam. Let me know if you decide to get one.
Yeah, It will be awhile. I just purchased the Hubsan H502E and turned around and ordered the H502S because I enjoyed the E and I wanted FPV so I ordered the S. Just starting out in this new hobby and I enjoyed it. Thanks for reply and keep up the good work.
Fantastic and very informative video. Great job. You're a natural on camera too. After watching your video, I am going to buy the same drone tomorrow. Thanks a bunch. Keep up the excellent work. You are awesome brother
when i see these you tube vids of people flying quads over a beach with crowds of people i just cringe...these are the over confident people that are going to get cool things banned all together when it takes some kids face all tore up.
Love the dog dude. I have owned 3 Phantoms and sold them all for this beast. It is fantastic. i hit a volcanic cliff face at 3/4 throttle. Totally my fault. it still flies perfectly but did need a new shell, the old one could have stayed on but hell....it's just money right.
Daaaaang, a volcanic cliff?! Man you're serious. Lmao. I'm increasingly surprised at how durable this thing is. By the way, would be awesome to see the footage of the volcano crash. I hope you were rolling
well its like this mate.... when i had the bird at mack speed heading back to me, I turned around to see exactly where I was in relation to the cliff face, by the time I saw the cliff face it was the usual reaction one has when they know ur about to have an accident. I tightened up waiting for the impact and in that moment, my finger pressed the stop record button. I totally stuffed it up. I didn't realize that while flying around I kept walking closer and closer to the wall and by the time I saw it...BANG it was all over. If it was my phantom doing that, I would have given it a seaside burial. You stay safe my friend.
Great footage with the dog man for.... I'm wait on my drone to get back from Autel...I was stupid in flying... that's all ima say about that... great review... check some of my footage out on my page... safe flying man keep it coming
Ahh man, sounds like you had a major crash. Man, my heart stopped when my camera went flying off. Luckily the $20 repair kit did the fix for me. Checking out your page now brother.
Dude. Ive been shooting with a Blackmagic. Check out www.risenaerials.com to see the rig on the front page. I've been thinking about an Autel for single person operation for smaller stuff. I don't know how they copied the phantom without lawsuits yet, but the camera on it looks way better. Better dynamic range, and doesn't seem as wide. They nailed that drone.
Nice features. I've been flying and building drones for three years. My biggest problem on my builds is flight time. I also like the drones to be 250mm sized. Basically, the DJI Mavic is as close to the perfect drone for me. I wish there was competition there..
Autel Robotics will be releasing a Mavic Pro alternative called the Evo and Xiaomi is also releasing a Mavic Pro version as well. i'm so glad there will be a Mavic Pro alt. because $1200 is alot for smaller videographers/photographers with a limited budget.
Good video dude! Something I notice is that the drone looks allot like an older phantom body, I'd say a P2plus or P3. The gimbal looks exactly like the one I had on my P2 Plus. Same wires you pointed out. The batteries look like the ones I had on my P3P.I wonder if Autel bought out some of DJI Molds for making this drone.I like the machine and it's on my to buy list! Thanks again,JT
It's from the RUclips audio library. And I tend to use anything Otis McDonald produced. He's an excellent musician and his vibe is perfect for vlogging. In my opinion :)
DJI just discontinued 70% of their product line stranding a million customers with batteries and controllers that have no upgrade or replacement path. This philosophy of destroying your investment and making you start over will never end.... DO NOT INVEST IN THE MAVIC either... buy a bunch of proprietary batteries that will die with the product. I just bought a P3 advanced last week... this week its discontinued. Do yourself a favor and try an AUTEL X STAR
Price, Customer service by phone, and Camera is excellent and replaceable. I don't leave home without it. The only problem is the gimbal holder...rocket scientist designed it, ya gotta be a rocket scientist to work it. Go on Amazon scan for Autel Robotics X-Star Series Gimbal Holder & Lens Cap. Much better and also is a lens cap. Enjoy your video's. With 4TH FIREWORKS you can turn off the red lights. Check it out.
After filming or flying can you send it to someone email right from your iPad , or phone whichever one you're using or do you have to take the SD card and I'll put it in the holder put it in the computer and do all that long process...thanks Dennis
Dennis Reif Doable, yes. But the file would probably be too large to send email without Google Drive or something. From the tablet attached to the remote controller, you can download the video from the drone onto your device. Once it's downloaded, you can send however you like. Sometimes it takes a while to download, so what I've done is take the microSD out of the drone, put it in my tablet, then download to the device. But to answer your question, yes it's possible to transmit the file without removing the SD card, but it would take substantially longer.
Dennis Reif Overall I'm very satisfied...especially because of the removable camera and opportunity to swap out and upgrade later. The drone flies pretty damn fast and stable. Looks best during the day or at Magic Hour. The 4k camera it comes with isn't great at night, but I don't fly much at night anyway
Thoughtful, accurate review! DJI's obstacle avoidance doesn't always work... You won't know when it's not going to work until you hit something. I personally prefer flying w/o it -- it keeps you sharper. Autel's blog makes key point. Over confidence is the cause of most crashes. You do more than you are capable of doing. When you try something new for the 1st time, you don't quite make it...just ask me! Autel's drone is very rugged, I've crashed mine 3 times, and each time it (somehow) survived.
Don't "drive in your car" with the drone following. You may be flying "hobby" but Part 107 prohibits operating from a "moving vehicle" (some exceptions) for commercial, so it's probably not a good idea.
..nice! Good to see alternatives to DJI. They make good drones but am not keen on their marketing. Picked up a Xiaomi Mi 4k for $429. They have some firmware issues but mines been great. Getting a Spark as not too much out there that does as well in such a small form factor. Wish it had 4k and a 3 axis gimbal. It would be worth paying extra $$...Thanks
Thanks for your videos they really helped me decide on getting this model drone, Im a first time flier rushed out and bought a Parrot Bebop2 at first FAIL, after watching your videos I immediately returned Parrot purchased Xstar Premium and I LOVE IT!! So easy to fly and all the key sticking points your mention are on point!
Bro excellent review and I thought 💭 you did an awesome job explaining this drone I’d give you seven stars ⭐️ outta of ten ⭐️s. Now you should seriously think 🤔 about writing your thoughts 💭 down before doing any reviews blogs and especially for product reviews always write down your thoughts 💭 before hand 🤚🏽. Ok awesome job thanks bro and now Your earned a brand new subscriber bro, later dude keep up the hard work and amazing reviews. Oh ya and the hell with the haters bro there always going to be 3% of the world that can’t and ain’t gonna be satisfied with anything anyone does so the hell with the mofo HATERS.
Buy a cheap quad to learn how NOT to crash, lol, then spend the bucks! I think im leaning toward x star, but phantom 3 is a lil cheaper....hmmm? Good vid bro!
I love my Autel X-Star , one huge mistake I made was that I did buy extra batteries. The problem I have is that I am in South Africa and importing the battery make so expensive. Wish I had someone coming to South Africa so that I could save on shipping and import duties. Thanks for a awesome video. Love this Drone
Anyone who believes this hype wow. I own both the phantom 4 and the orange pumpkin. Aka Autel robotics x star premium. Autel's app has video lag wow, their drone is not as stable nor does it have the range again wow. Annoying video interference prompts all the time sub par antennas. And the go home button to go home is fine till you have head wind and the drone just sits there draining you're battery. And if you try to push the right stick forward on the Autel in go home mode it will still sit there. On Dji in high wind you have two options in go home push the right stick forward. And or fly home in sport mode with gps. That's another thing the dji app let's ya know where you're drone is and you can fly it back home via google maps. With Autel your like where is it??? Also the Autel app is less refined some stuff doesn't work Ios to Andriod. Just say no. 2 different Orange drones same problems. And I returned it both of them. Like I said phantom 4 owner it just doesn't compare. Fly your Autel x star be proud but in high wind it's like flying a orange kite. Very trouble some to bring it back almost lost it 3 times. It's enough for me. I ordered a second phantom 4.. Autel does a few things right nice kit and great support. Other then that it doesn't compare.
Bro, I guess at this point, you might as well get a DJI Mavic (Air or Pro). I've been flying one of those two lately. The X-star has some discontinued parts, and it's kinda big. I'm digging the smaller Mavics.
Don't buy these used... no battery support and no new batteries available to buy. Based on Autel's handling of the battery inventory, warranty repairs and end-of-life support - highly recommend avoiding Autel. They figured out that if they put a software driven lifespan on their batteries and then stop producing replacement batteries, they could force people to buy new drones.
good in its day, became obsolete, batteries disappeared, forced to buy new Evo model, it became obsolete, batteries disappeared, now I have two perfectly good drones with no batteries. won't be buying the new model it will be obsolete in a year or so and batteries will disappear. thing about third time shy
Great video! A caution to DJI fliers.. This drone will not stop as quickly as the P4 or the Inspire One Pro! I'm not sure of the technical reason but those drones seem to have natural, "brakes," and this one does not. Give it some room to slow down and stop after releasing the forward stick.
Very good tips man! We own it and I wish I could see your post before a couple of accidents! ha ! We´ge good and happpy with it though! Congrats from Mexico !
yo! you forgot one thing..so I have phantom 4 but looking into a second drone, anyway the phantom 4 uses lightbridge technology to keep a crystal clear fpv picture. does this drone have something similar or does it get a static screen at times?
Interesting video. Lots of interesting information. Thanks for that! Your dog is cute. When you fly your dog has a lot of fun too by the looks of things.
good vidieo one thing I wanted to know is does the camera have voice like can you here anything from camera if I were filming my kids can I here them through camera
hey man, nice video.. very informative. i'm just sad, that i couldnt find it to buy in my country.. :( i have a question: you show, that you can undock the gimbal... so would it be possible to fly the drone without it? in order to practice just flying? that would be good to know. you just got a new subscriber.
New to your channel. Great, sound advice....been watching this drone for a while as a cheaper alternative to DJI Phantom. Autel is working on obstacle avoidance...but it's under wraps for now. Great review!
Great info, thanks. Ive been thinking about finally getting a drone personally. I have flown rc airplanes in the past and did some video work with a DJI phantom 3 standard this week. Now I am seriously considering the Autel vs the DJI. Also love the look of your on camera 60p footage, mind letting me know what you shooting with.
My brother tried flying ours under a garage , and it freaked out when it lost gps signal and tried to return to home ( 200ft! indoors!). Ran into all kinds of stuff, and broke the gimbal ... $350 for a new one. Autel rep said "yes, we've gotten some reports of that happening, maybe we should add a warning?". Be careful people. Otherwise awesome drone.
Just got my back from Autel repair and return. Mine hit the tree also. Been to cold to fly it. Took it out today but before i could try a flight in the air, a cautious warning came on bout the battery temp was cool. Be Cautious. So i came back home. Hopeful the winds will be mild and the temp round 30 tmrw. Its no right or wrong way about how to have your device while in use with the X Star. Meaning should your cell service and wifi remain on?
Jordan Williams yeah you shouldn't have a problem leaving the cell service and WiFi on your phone. I think it was just too cold for the mechanics and fluid in that batter
And Autel is coming out with a dual camera. FLIR camera which enables heat signature. Kinda like from the movie Predator. If its not gonna be to expensive i will purchase one. Would be useful for finding lost people or animals.
Thanks for the review, very informative. I have this Drone and I love it. I stayed in beginner mode for about two hours of flight. took it off and I have to say it was awesome. I Flew today in pretty stiff wind, was amazingly stable. 5 stars For autel x star Premium.
Great vid, Genie. Like someone else mentioned, Kudos to the dog - ha. I came to the XSP from the Phantom 2 Vision, and there's no comparison. But, to be fair, the P2V is waaaay old technology. I'm still getting used to flying to the point where I can still hear it, but can't see it. 2500 feet is the farthest so far, but the video is rock solid so I can see where I'm going, just not with my naked eye. Recently did my first over-water flight. Nail biting at first, but got used to it. I just LOVE this bird!
For straight-out-of-the-camera video, I really like the "Vivid" color profile, which exaggerates R, B and G.
Who needs obstacle avoidance when the drone is built like a tank? Ha! ha! It doesn't seem like the drone it's self suffered any damage.
Bahaha. I guess you're right. They were pretty hard crashes, and the pumpkin still flies like it did day 1.
Great Video Bud. Very easy to understand you not a lot a Big Terms like some guy's .. I'm getting a Autel x- star Premium real soon so you had some great info for me I'll keep looking for your RUclips Videos.. Thanks...
Bagger Jim thanks man! Let me know how you like your new drone
I did a visual breakdown of electronics inside Alcatel electronics are very high in then my Phantom I tore down not so good
You might want to remove your gimbal guard BEFORE you turn on the drone. The camera needs to be free so when its turned on it can do its positioning acclimation process. great blog, A newbee Cheers
How well does it handle wind?
Excellent review and tips. In addition to extra batteries, an overlooked safety feature is using prop guards - I see too few on drones. I know there is a 'rule' about not flying farther than you can see the drone, but come on, who's going to stay in the playground and not explore the limits? Thanks brother. Just the encouragement I needed. Let me know once you start uploading footage from your new drone. You won't be disappointed.
They have all the accessories for it here too: hypedphoto.com/dronemods/drone-accessories/
Thanks for the upload.... Your dog really wanted that drone.....
Nice video man! Love my pumpkin.. I'm thinking of doing a review myself. I'm going to sub for sure
Thanks man!!! And yeah do it! Do a review, we need this orange nation to show up! Haha
when i see these you tube vids of people flying quads over a beach with crowds of people i just cringe...these are the over confident people that are going to get cool things banned all together when it takes some kids face all tore up.
Cheers to filmmaking --good and bad.
Great review, man. We were about to get a DJI Phantom 4 but looking into this now.
This drones are shit! No one sell batteries for them!
Just got the Autel X-star premium, & I LOVE IT!
Check out my latest video to see awesome footage I took at the beach!
Dude, your shots of the waves are pretty damn epic. Nice job bro
I got my p3p for 599
Well done! I believe you just steered me away from the Mavic Pro!
Haha. Thanks Ed. It will save you some coin with similar results!
Sorry, PC.
i completely agree with the color and how it stands out in the sky!
Dude. Ive been shooting with a Blackmagic. Check out www.risenaerials.com to see the rig on the front page. I've been thinking about an Autel for single person operation for smaller stuff. MrPolymers I'm waiting for that comparable drone too man
Poor Bebop 2... if only it had a better camera. Or an SD card slot for that matter.
Yes indeed. Hey for $499, I'd snatch up one instead of my Hubsan H501S which has been nothing but problems if you watch my channel..
Thanks, that's good to know.
Autel Robotics will be releasing a Mavic Pro alternative called the Evo and Xiaomi is also releasing a Mavic Pro version as well. i'm so glad there will be a Mavic Pro alt. because $1200 is alot for smaller videographers/photographers with a limited budget.

Brace flying over those high power lines!!
Will at times cause issues.
Bahaha. It's nerve-racking to say the least
SkyView4U Drones what will happen I want to know cause I’m about to get this
Great vid. Thanks!!
Thanks Parker!
I just bought a phantom 3SE. Cost 599.00 which included shipping. I do like the detachable camera feature on the Autel.
What is the music that you used?
It's from the RUclips audio library. And I tend to use anything Otis McDonald produced. He's an excellent musician and his vibe is perfect for vlogging. In my opinion :)
Really affordable? What about the DJI Phantom 3 Standard for 319.00 (refurbished)?
Great video. Very informative. Thanks for posting this. Can't wait to pick this guy up.

Bahaha. Thanks bro.

That's a huge selling point!
Genie Deez yeah it is. I also like that they are based in USA.
Genie Deez also I'll subscribe.... I'm in Ohio... old and grumpy. great video... they should sponsor you because your video sold me

It's enough for me. I ordered a second phantom 4.. Autel does a few things right nice kit and great support. Other then that it doesn't compare.
Bro do you know how much is the propeller . And if you recommend to buy a used one. And what to check before buy it. Than you
Bro, I guess at this point, you might as well get a DJI Mavic (Air or Pro). I've been flying one of those two lately. The X-star has some discontinued parts, and it's kinda big. I'm digging the smaller Mavics.
Genie Deez all right thats why i can find then so cheap. Probably. I will look in to it. Thank you for respond.
@@colassolorzano6353 No prob, fam
Great Video! Thank you. I was thinking about buying the bundle, I'll shop around.
Good advices, I been flying for over two years and like you, practice practice, and don't fly over people
Well is 2024 and im thinking of getting the Autel xtar drone
yo! you forgot one thing..so I have phantom 4 but looking into a second drone, anyway the phantom 4 uses lightbridge technology to keep a crystal clear fpv picture. does this drone have something similar or does it get a static screen at times?
Hey!! what the name of the artist or group (music) in the background?
Does anyone have thoughts for Xiaomi Mi 4k drone vs Autel X Star Premium?
Interesting video. Lots of interesting information. Thanks for that! Your dog is cute. When you fly your dog has a lot of fun too by the looks of things.
How's the "follow-me" mode? Also, what is your video editing software?
Nice review Thanks for putting iy up.
What's the camera used to shoot this video? It keeps focusing perfectly.
Is this over 250 grams? Very limiting with regulations
Any one know where I can buy batteries for this drone? Help please.
thx for the video. I'm trying to make a decision on one.
What editing software do you use on your pic?
I use Premiere Pro. Love the Adobe Suite.
Very well done. I'm looking at this one for Christmas.
Thanks for the info man - great video and editing.
nickbishop777 Appreciate that fam!
good vidieo one thing I wanted to know is does the camera have voice like can you here anything from camera if I were filming my kids can I here them through camera
Amazing video full of wonderful.
I bought the white version. It was on sale. Do you know of a place that sells decals? Great video by the way.
Great Video, Well done. And very cool Dog
Great video ! I think I am going to get the Autel X *
What camera and microphone are you using? Thank you.
hey man, nice video.. very informative. i'm just sad, that i couldnt find it to buy in my country.. :(
i have a question: you show, that you can undock the gimbal... so would it be possible to fly the drone without it? in order to practice just flying? that would be good to know.
you just got a new subscriber.
Thanks friend! I have flown the drone without the gimbal, yes. I don't think it's recommended tho.
Big video, thank you very much, i buy it now too, beautiful drone
It is a great drone! The orange, "pumpkin," is cool.
New to your channel. Great, sound advice....been watching this drone for a while as a cheaper alternative to DJI Phantom. Autel is working on obstacle avoidance...but it's under wraps for now. Great review!
Thanks for watching! And thanks for the headsup on the obstacle avoidance.
Thanks for watching! Of course: I'm shooting with a Canon 80D.
John S dude it's unfortunate that you had to buy a new gimbal. but that story is hilarious.
What 📷 are you using to shoot this video with? awesome man
Thanks Mark! I'm shooting this with a Canon 80D and a Tokina 11-16 lens. I'm doing a video next week on all my favorite lenses, so watch out for that!
Would be useful for finding lost people or animals.
theone2be33 I've never thought about that application...using the drone to find people. that's brilliant
These things are no good if u live in high populated area incase you have have crash and it falls out the sky or live near an airport
Thanks for the review, very informative. I have this Drone and I love it. I stayed in beginner mode for about two hours of flight. took it off and I have to say it was awesome. I Flew today in pretty stiff wind, was amazingly stable. 5 stars For autel x star Premium.
Bill Marz exactly! 5 stars. I ran into a drone pro at Hollywood Park the other day and we raved about this thing for an hour
I'm terrified to fly over water, lol. But I'm glad you did. I want to see the footage! Thanks for the shoutout to my pup Blue!
Very informative and straight forward!
Great review man! I think I'm going to buy this one.
prevention and quality phantom 4 still the best
they are making a new version that does have obstacle avoidance
Good video "dude"! You are a smart guy and did a good job. I'm getting one.
