Yo so I’m an artist, and one thing I love doing is experimenting with random colors and lighting, so thank you so much! This’ll make funky color palettes so much easier!!
Thank you so much for a very helpful video!👍
Thankyou. Perfect video
thankyou! it's really helpful
Helpful. Thank you
Really appreciate you bro!
thank you!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks!
thank you
OR you could just make it as a shortcut on your side button... Like press it 3 times and you could toggle it on and off. Thank me later
I actually made a video about that in 2022. But as I mentioned in the beginning of this video, a commenter on the original video had requested a way to do it from the Home Screen rather than multiple button pushes, so I was accommodating them.

is it possible to add this shortcut to a focus? i tried to create a shortcut, where the grayscale mode activates if i turn on my study focus but it didn’t worked for me. i’m not so much into shortcuts so i guess it’s on me
Don't blame yourself. It would be nice if Apple could give us an option to change screen modes when the focus is active within the Focus settings. The short version is that you can build it in Shortcuts in a couple of different ways either with a manual toggle, or using either the "Time of Day" or "Focus Mode" automations in the Shortcuts app. There are a few of caveats with this method.
1: This uses the Color Filters toggle, meaning you have to set Grayscale as your Color Filter first in Settings. If you use another filter, say for another form of color blindness, then this will only toggle that filter and standard display rather than between grayscale and another filter.
2: While the Focus mode will sync between devices, the screen settings will not. So if you activate it on your iPhone, your Mac (synced to the same Apple account) will go into Work Focus, but will not change its screen color. This may be desirable though depending on your work.
3: You can set this to automatically run on iPhone and iPad, but not on your Mac. For whatever reason the "Automation" section of Shortcuts that runs things based on the the time of day, when you arrive/leave a location, etc. is not available on MacOS. Can only guess why Apple hasn't added that feature yet, so if you did want it to run automatically on Mac you'll have to use a second tool to automate that portion.
If you're willing to wait a little bit, I could probably turn this into a video. I'm sure other people have this same desire. As a matter of fact I've been experimenting with using grayscale on my phone during work hours to help with distraction. I can give you a shoutout for the idea at the beginning of the video if you would like as well.
@@EasyOSXthank you for the fast response. i managed to set the shortcut like wanted, following the tips in your detailed explanation. the grayscale mode works very well for me to get less distracted while studying and now i don’t have turn it on manually every time. huge game changer for me 🙌🏼🙌🏼
i only use an iphone and an ipad so i don’t have the issue with the macos
@bubulul Glad to hear! I might still make that video anyway, and can give you credit for the suggestion if you’re cool with that
@@EasyOSX yes of course i’m okay with it
No toggle greyscale option for me😢
What options do you see?
You have to go to settings and turn on color filters, select grayscale, and then when you run the shortcut it should toggle in and off.
I had the same problem, hoped that helped
This seems to be for iPads, not iPhones.
Well it works the same on iPhones, but my iPad is what I use mostly for recording RUclips videos. The setup process is exactly the same
It worked on my iPhone
