Thank you for all your videos. I have forwarded a few to my mother in law who is 80 and this really helps her since we are 3 hour away and she just got a new iPhone. You explain every so simple and clear. I even found something I learned at 60. Thanks again.
Hi Rich, I have really enjoyed watching your videos, and have started to share them with many of my clients. I worked for Apple as a Creative (trainer) for 4 years and started private one on one coaching on Apple applications and devices after I left Apple. Most of my clients are seniors (I am a senior myself), and I think your videos will help my clients better understand the lessons I provide. You have built the PERFECT channel in my opinion, there are so many seniors with technology who don’t know how to use their devices (including computers) who will benefit from your videos. Thank you Rich, best wishes to you.😊
Wow! Thanks so much for the kind words. Not to mention someone coming from Apple who did the same thing. I'm honored you think highly of the videos and were kind enough to watch and share. You're comment made my day!
Thanks, I have an iPad and a couple of friends with iPhones. Pretty sure I can figure it out from watching this. I have had the new iPad since March of last year and haven't tried using FaceTime. My phone is android so I know I can use Face Time on my iPad. I appreciate your clear and to the point video. Awesome of you family to help too
Thank You for all the help. I 'm going to be 71 this trip around. I just switched from a flip phone to an iPhone. Your videos are well done and packed with information.
You are right. If the other person is using an android device, there’s no way to FaceTime. I just watched this video. I wish my family would switch to iPhone. iMessage works from iPhone to android, but not FaceTime. I did learn how. Thanks again my friend.
I'm not a senior (yet) but I am a new iPhone user just having ourchased an iPhone SE 3. I find your videos extremely helpful coming from android. Thank you!
I really am enjoying your videos, learning a lot. I appreciate that you are not talking and moving so fast that I cannot keep up as so many of the other videos have done. Thank you so much
@@RichBowlin The SE 3 is a little workhorse, I can tell you that. Old form factor with a Ferrari engine under the hood! 5G (sub6), Deep Fusion, Smart HDR4, Neural Engine, A15 Bionic chipset (same as the iPhone 13 series), darn good camera that takes excellent photos and videos, Apple Photographic Styles (like the iPhone 13 has and the 14 will have), decent battery life for the size of the phone and *yes* , I like the old form factor better than the newer form factor...rounded edges, thinner, etc. However there is no 'Night Mode' for low-lit photography and videography and there is no 'Cinematic Mode'. Both of these features are standard on the iPhone 13 models. But boy does the SE 3 itself *scream* with speed!
@@stevennovakovich2525 So because you really like your SE3, I went by AT&T and played around with it. I forgot how much I like the size and form factor. Plus I could use it in my videos. My wife will kill me if I buy another iPhone. If all my videos suddenly stop you'll know what happened.
Thanks, Rich, your videos and info are really clear, easy to understand, and informative. The other great quality of your videos is the speed at which you speak. My hearing and understanding doesn't have any trouble keeping up with your speaking :-)
I love your iPhone presentations, Rich! Clustering together "like items" makes great sense to me, as it seems easier to learn. I have watched 4 iPhone presentations - are there any more? If so, how do I find them? I tried searching for iPhone 5, but no luck. Is there a #5??
Hey thanks from one senior to another. I’m glad I came across this particular one on FaceTime. My family does this a lot. I thought I knew something but I didn’t know about the multiple FaceTime calls. Now I’m going to really annoy my kids🤣
Your videos are great in both presentation and material. In the later IOS, people can use iphone to Facetime video conference with Android phone users by giving them a link to accept the Facetime call. Also, do want to mention that people can establish the Facetime call through email addresses, besides phone number. Thanks.
Yes! Great points all. This video is a little older and I'll be making an update soon. I hope others see you comments because of the great tips. Thanks!
Thanks for this! I sent it to someone who needs it! Is there a way to get the numbers of friends, like calling 411 in the old days? Is there now an automated way to do that? Thanks so much for your help!
If the other person doesn't hit their ft icon will they still be able to see me ? (Yes each party having an iphone) yes I know time to buy smart phones for dummies! Great video Rich !
One step that is left out is what the receiver will see and what they need to do. You mentioned in the last example that your daughter hit her Facetime button. Is that all that the receiver should do for any Facetime call? What should the receiver expect to see on his/her screen? Most tutorials show only what the "senior" needs to do to make the call.
Thank you Rich. This sounded simple, but it don't help me :( I had a call come in today from my doctor and could not get it. I don't have a icon that says face time. I have a Samsung Galaxy A03s , phone. Just my luck. Thank you again, for helping others
Hi Cathy. Yes, FaceTime is for iPhones. But thank you for taking the time to write a few kind words to me. My videos are pretty much related to the iPhone and iPad. Maybe someday if you end up with one of these devices, my videos will help you get started. Thanks so much for watching.

In the past, FaceTime only worked with other people who had iDevices and FaceTime enabled. With iOS/iPadOS 16, You can create a FaceTime link and share it with your contacts who don't have iPhones. I haven't tried it, so I don't know how well it works, but it is now an option.
Hi Rich, I am new subscriber and finding many helpful tips. I am an insurance broke and have been a PC user because many company interfaces did not work with Apple. That is no longer the case and I am moving to an I Pad Pro for my daily driver. Having an ear phone jack is important as I can use my Rode Video mikes. Sorry to see that feature go away with ne’er models. Will look forward to a video showing how you edit on the I Pad Pro, connecting to printers and maybe faxing from the I Pad and connection to external monitors. It takes a lot of skill to understand a subject so well that you can make it seem really simple. Like our W,C. Clark playing Chicago Electric Blues at the Continental Club. TX Jack, Austin
question... it seems like the facetime was answered but neither one of us could see or hear the other just ourselves... and im pretty sure my mic n camera was turned on... what would be a problem

Thanks Rich! Could you make a video how to get back to the facetime video call when you accidentally exit and open another app. I’m having an awfully difficult time showing my mom from a distance. Sorry if it’s rude to make such a request. Thank you!

Hi John - FaceTime only works between Apple devices. It's an Apple product designed to work on iPhones , iPads and Macs. I prefer it's ease of use, but I always say use what feels and works best for you. Thanks for watching!
Tried using your instrument using Contacts. My cousin is now in my contacts using her recent email. She doesn’t have a phone number because I am international. The FaceTime icon is blocked out. We both have iPhones. What’s wrong?
Good question. That's why I made this video in hopes it would help some people learn how to make FaceTime calls. It's not as good as seeing someone in person, but it's great when you can't be together.
Great set of videos for us 'old timers' who still remember using a 'shared phone line'.
Thanks! Most young people don't even know what a phone booth is. But they sure know tech! Thanks for watching!
I remember from my childhood back in the 60´s how Disney had science fiction stories with "see who you talk to telephones."

FaceTime calls do allow you to see the other person. It's like you're talking in person.
How to do FaceTime call when people don’t have an Apple FaceTime phone
hello kktc den
If old people can’t make a FaceTime call, how are they going to get here?
Good question. That's why I made this video in hopes it would help some people learn how to make FaceTime calls. It's not as good as seeing someone in person, but it's great when you can't be together.
This video is useless calling an Android phone.
That's because Apple didn't allow FaceTime calls to non-Apple phones at the time the video was released. Its not a "useless" video....
