Hands free option-I just say -hey Siri torch on or hey Siri torch off, and the flashlight goes on or off hands-free. I use the word torch because it’s only one syllable. Saying Flashlight just seems awkward.
My passwords area doesn’t look like yours I loved it when I saw the video to organize passwords as I have a ton and they keep saving the old ones and new ones I loved the folder Idea but I dont see that option on my iPhone iOS 18

I opened your RUclips video on IOS 18, 7 iPhone tips for seniors and found that you failed to advise viewers of the model of iPhone you are using. I have a basic iPhone 13 on which I just performed the update to IOS 18, but I have no "Dynamic Island", nor the ability to "Add to Home Screen". It is frustrating when this happens. for example, I spent time trying to learn how to switch on Dynamic Island, only to find its not available on my phone. You need to include a preamble advising viewers that some features are not available on all phones.
This issue (software versions) is a fundamental concern, or should be, for any competent software author or manipulator. My iphone 18 pro max has led me thru the many blind alleys as I followed some supposedly accurate utube sites, so shame on you Rich and many others.
According to Apple, one does not need to close apps. They are designed to be open, and they are not necessarily live. There can be flukes. I always close my camera app cause you just don't know what it might be up to.
Unfortunately I have a iPhone 8 SE and whilst I have iOS 18 running, my screen does not always function like yours. Variations due to iterations of the iPhone would be greatly appreciated.

If your iPhone is locked and you touch your screen but don't unlock it, the illumination is going to fade quickly. However, if you unlock your phone and you want it to stay illuminated longer with inactivity, you can change this by going to Settings > Display and Brightness > Auto-Lock and change the default time between when you last touch your phone and when it automatically locks after inactivity. You can always lock your phone immediately by pressing the side button. I hope this helps.

I would like to second the comment regarding all hints do not apply to all versions of window. My version says it is 18.0.1 and does not perform the new options in models. Knowing what models these updates apply to might be able to help if someone tries to update and check all his hints out and they don’t work.

Hi, I installed iOS18 on my 15 pro and I do not have the icon in the bottom left. I have watched other videos about the app and their layouts do not have the icon in the bottom left but some do - it’s a bit confusing.
When I did the update I lost my speaker in it , I’ve tried multiple times to get it back but I never found the link to get it back . I’m sorry but I’m no longer a iPhone fan !

Please help with videos I have made over last few years that are ruined by IOS 18. I will listen to one as I fall asleep but hours later it is still running . grr. I tried edit or something else and all it did was cut my video into 5 minute segments. worse! can you help me? or can i remover IOS 18 completely?
I really enjoy watching your video's! I do believe, however, that most of these features only work on the latest iPhones, The dynamic island features do not work on my iPhone 13.
Yes. That's right. I try to make videos that span an array of iPhones from older ones to the newest. But it's not always possible to bridge everything together. Hopefully some of the tips helped out a little.
I've had no issues other than battery life. I'm not recommending it yet though. Besides, the final version will be out very soon. But if you're adventurous, you could load it up. So far, pretty stable for me.

I have just installed iOS 18 on my iPhone 12 and the passwords app does not look quite the same as the one in your video. There is no facility to add a new folder as you demonstrate (no icon in the bottom left) all I can do is add a new “Shared Group” or create a new password (plus icon in the right hand bottom right hand corner). Is this to do with the iPhone model, or is the first iteration not fully functional.

I have the 14 pro, but I’m going to update to the 16pro max. I don’t mind asking if I can record a phone call. What about the Plaud just for recording and not getting a subscription to just record, or any other device that is easy to record. Your video’s are great and easy to follow. I do reminder/calender in reverse. If I have an appointment/meeting, date, tTASK, I JUST add a reminder THEN link it to calender…then I have clock, cal, reminder all in 1 widget STACK. Day planner DONE.
Why would I want to put all my activities on the iPhone? It takes a lot of time and I would have to consult regularly. I prefer a a slip of paper and a pencil. That way, my wife can also add or cross out items. I love gadgets, but sometimes I think I have to change a perfect routine, just to make use of the gadget.
Some parts of my tasking/remembering work better with paper and pencil, like small daily one off tasks. Others work better on the phone because then I can check on them wherever I am when I am out. The ultimate in customization for me.

It seems to me that my iPads and iPhone start malfunctioning prior to a new software upgrade. Remembering so many thousands of hidden controls and functions is another brain overload with few improvements in the actual work my devices can do. Recently the font size reduced to a size I cannot easily read, when writing a comment on RUclips. As Apple does not design its own App, all of the fancy colours and visual effects do not fix the basic problem of readability on an App I use 6 hours a day. For essential Apple controls to adjust my devices Apple has to design its own Apps. As Steve Jobs said, "Apple designs its Software and Hardware to work as one."
So is anybody having trouble with their iPhone map? Since the 18 update it does not show a route for the highway I use the most. It directs me to a nearby town and a route that is twice as long as the highway near me. I have no idea how to manage this.😮

Apple loves his updates, but I’m gonna wait until they get all the kinks out of it because you know there will be. I suggest you wait too even though there’s a lot of really cool features in it plus I don’t see anything that’s really specific for elderly people.

Of course it’s because you have an older iPhone. Dynamic Island only came out on iPhone 14 Pro then to all models in the iPhone 15 lineup afterwards

Which Pro Max do you have? BTW, you will need to get the permission of the other person on the call before recording.
