Rich, thanks so much. I'm 62 and feeling like I'm getting left behind technology-wise. Bought an iPhone 15 Pro Max yesterday and at the moment I don't know what the hell I'm doing! Your videos are really useful.
I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m so tired of trying to keep up with all the changes to my iPhone & doing almost everything online. To the younger people, we seniors were once young too! We could multitask as well as you. Live long enough & you’ll appreciate it when people have patience with you. Appreciate your grandparents❤ New subbie!
Rich, a great job teasing ios18. One of my favorites is being able to send a text message at a certain time, like you can with email. Keep up the fantastic work.
It seems to me that my iPads and iPhone start malfunctioning prior to a new software upgrade. Remembering so many thousands of hidden controls and functions is another brain overload with few improvements in the actual work my devices can do. Recently the font size reduced to a size I cannot easily read, when writing a comment on RUclips. As Apple does not design its own App, all of the fancy colours and visual effects do not fix the basic problem of readability on an App I use 6 hours a day. For essential Apple controls to adjust my devices Apple has to design its own Apps. As Steve Jobs said, "Apple designs its Software and Hardware to work as one."
Rich, I’m going to be upgrading to an iPhone 12 from an iPhone 7 shortly. Do you have a video on how to transfer all my information to my new phone please?
First time I come across your site, and found it well put together always had Apple since my son got me a iPhone 3G it just works to my advantage I’m now on iPhone max with upgrading every 2 ore 3 years and always sell them to my brother when finished with Look forward to your future posts
Excellent presentation Rich, thank you. Almost all the changes to 18 are irrelevant for me. More info I don’t really need!! Modern life is rubbish!!😂 Keep well!
You might be surprised to know how often your sentiment comes up in these comments. Just yesterday I told my wife that wondered if my tech-less life as a kid was better than my grandson's. I hope not I want his life to be the best.
If your iPhone is locked and you touch your screen but don't unlock it, the illumination is going to fade quickly. However, if you unlock your phone and you want it to stay illuminated longer with inactivity, you can change this by going to Settings > Display and Brightness > Auto-Lock and change the default time between when you last touch your phone and when it automatically locks after inactivity. You can always lock your phone immediately by pressing the side button. I hope this helps.
@@katiemcteague Thanks; I knew that. But I would like to be able to see/show the Lock Screen picture for longer than four seconds. I mean, come on! I’ve got some really cute Lock Screen photos I like to show off! 🤪
I've had no issues other than battery life. I'm not recommending it yet though. Besides, the final version will be out very soon. But if you're adventurous, you could load it up. So far, pretty stable for me.
I was just reading on their website, so you have to charge this card, how long does a charge last and will it notify you when the battery is getting low? Maybe you can do a video on how to set it up, charge it, etc. Couldn’t find much info on the website. Thank you
When is this available for iPhone pro max? Can you record your phone calls with this. I’m 76 and I can’t remember what my Doctor said in calls or at the office?
I have the 14 pro, but I’m going to update to the 16pro max. I don’t mind asking if I can record a phone call. What about the Plaud just for recording and not getting a subscription to just record, or any other device that is easy to record. Your video’s are great and easy to follow. Probably better to wait for the new iPhone 16 pro max. Thank You
The wallet you’re promoting is interesting although expensive. I’m not sure why one needs it these days as we’re moving away from physical credit cards to contactless payments everywhere. As someone who works with Apple products don’t you feel that the Apple Wallet has supplanted your Esker?
In a word, no. It may at some point, but I still carry my driver's license and my debit card. I also have a work credit card and a couple others that haven't made it to Apple Wallet yet. You 're point is well taken, and that day is surely coming. But for now, I truly do use my Ekster wallet every day. Thanks so much for watching!
@@RichBowlin here all the public transit, taxis, and most merchants now have contactless payments. It’s almost rare to see old fashioned cash anymore at all. I’ve not even seen the newest issue currency in circulation.
Hi @Quince828, just something to consider about Seniors using technology. My husband is visually impaired and still after 8 years hasn't mastered using an IPhone without my assistance. In fact, he most often presses on an icon or two and moves them around without realizing and then can't find where they went to. I wish there was a way to lock the icons for someone like him who knows where things are located on their phones. If he is out and about with someone other than myself, relying on a phone "only" isn't an option. So it is very important for him to carry a wallet with his License, Medicaid card, credit card, etc. Besides, being visually impaired, using a cell phone with a relatively small screen (for him he would need a tablet - which is not a compact device) and a single window visibility for an extended period causes more eye strain, which is not good especially Seniors. Also, cell phones are still pervious to being hacked and open to malware. As I am now a Senior as well, I hope that there never comes a day where we "only" rely on contactless payments or for purposes of showing ID.

I’ll come back and watch when 18 is available. I will just forget
Ha! Me too!
Welcome to my world😁😁😁
I will send this link to myself to be sent to myself on sept 1, 2004 🤔

Yeah - good tip. Thanks so much for watching!
I REALLY appreciate your videos. I feel prepared for the upcoming, new 18.0 update! Thanks so much.
You're very welcome!
I am so relieved that iOS 18 will have new features for us who have iPhones older than 15!

Excellent video as all of yours Rich so neat and clear!
Thank you kindly!
Hi Rich , I picked up a couple of things that I didn’t know about, thank you. I’m using Beta and really enjoying the new updates.
Great to hear!
We love Apple Music lossless quality.
Many thanks.

I wish Apple would fix the iTunes recently played widget. It doesn't work in the UK
I assume you are using Beta version of IOS 18. If so, has it hung up on you yet? Do you recommend we try it as well? Thank you for the video!

This Are All Handy New Things. My Wish Is That They Would Have Found A Way To Put Anti Glare On The iPhone By Now
I’m excited for these new features! TFS
Me too. There may actually be some good stuff in there this year.
Thanks for a very informative video Rich.
You're welcome. Glad it was helpful a little bit.
Photos, can you make folders for like photos??
Task in Calendar … finally!!!
Yes! That might actually be my favorite thing of all.
Hey Rich. Appreciate the video, but my Dynamic Island functions as described on iOS 17.5.1 iPhone 14 ProMax right now. What am I missing here.
Thanks for the instructional tutorial. 👍
You're welcome!
I cant find the Edit buttton at the top
Can you use that finder card on just regular wallets?
Yes! You sure can. I think I'm going to get my wife one for the wallet she caries in her purse.

Which Pro Max do you have? BTW, you will need to get the permission of the other person on the call before recording.

Imho, the only thing to look forward to is ipadOS 18 math notes. All the rest is mostly fluff.
Still no built in shortcut for location ?
Well, the first one has been available on androids for years.
But it do not matter as I like Apple, and I respect respect your choice
