If anyone wants my collection of unhinged / dumb emojis here they are on Google Drive: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1LSrgk0qzFYUJypUAOkvP_GTr94PlKctK?usp=sharing Several of them I made myself in photoshop, others I found. You can add them as a sticker in iOS by viewing them in Photos and long pressing on them, it should automatically extract it out, then you can hit "Add Sticker".
I’m a total fan of albums and photo folders. Apps just made my library look like a mess. The fact that they go straight to the created folder is awesome 😍
I’ve been really happy with the update. Just switched to the 16 a week ago, but I’m struggling a bit because I’m not sure what screen protector to put on it
I get what you mean by your phrasing, that there's no direct mention of Apple Intelligence here, but I'm pretty darned sure that math notes feature is powered by their "AI" stuff behind-the-scenes. But the user-facing experience hides all that crap from you, just type, it's intended to just work as expected (but we'll have to see how that pans out once real people start using it).
Another not talked about feature: for audio nerds like me, Voice Memoes now supports recording in stereo. Go to settings, apps, voice memos, then toggle stereo recording on
Joe! You gotta check out under accessibility settings! There is eye tracking which can help select things hands free. Takes a bit of time to set up but I can see how it'd be useful for some people.
I’m more excited about the changes now since watching your videos! This has got to be one of the best videos I’ve seen for new features with iOS 18. Explained well, and to the point. New sub. Thank you!
Hi Joe, as an Android user for more than a decade (I think I've only touched an iPhone once), what do you think will be the first thing that will shock, amaze, or surprise me when I start using an iPhone/iOS?
One small feature they added was to add a background sounds toggle in the control center. Previously it was buried in the settings no not a lot of people knew or used that feature. What the background sounds feature does is basically being a simple white noise generator. It has some few different sounds like rain, waves, white noise etc. the sounds also can play over other content so it’s good for relaxing or sleeping. Before the feature was mostly unusable since it’s buried deep in the settings but now that you can put a simple toggle button it’s nice to use.
@@block_place1232 a lot of those things absolutely do not matter to the end user though, I'm a big supporter of FOSS but it doesn't make a difference to me whether the phone OS I use is open source or not (especially considering all the big manufacturers are not using stock android anyway). I don't jailbreak and I don't use custom launchers, and sideloading is even starting to become much easier (albeit the EU is having to force them into it lol). I'll probably still stick with my android for a while but if iOS keeps advancing at this rate, it might be worth looking into
This is exactly the video I needed today! One thing I've noticed is that legacy widgets are no longer supported. I used the Google home and kasa widgets multiple times a day to control devices in my home.
What I found different with IOS 18 is they made it simple for old people to use. I am using my iPhone now for more things then I ever did before. I make notes on it, use the calendar, the calculator, so no more just making phone calls and picture taking. I love it. When up dates came out I use to think Oh God another two weeks of learning and then doing nothing but make calls take pictures. This time after seeing a video on OIS 18 I had to download it right away. I am so happy I did. I am one very happy 75 year old woman who loves her phone.
Hi ThioJoe, There is supposed to be a way to record incoming and outgoing phone calls as well. I would love to see the step by step ways to get this to work! Thanks
I was hesitant about iOS 18 because some of the major changes were donkey, But thank god you made this video because I actually love these little changes! 😅
for apple music users; apple music now has a proper add to queue feature that spotify has had for ages; what used to be play last has now become add to queue and it creates a separate queue that will finish playing before continuing with whatever playlist was playing before

I'm just glad they got rid of the swiping left and right in the Photos app. That was in the first few dev betas and public betas and I found it unusably bad. Great video as always! Edit: also i forgot to mention, I LOVE vehicle motion cues! It was kinda broken at first but now that it seems to work properly, it's great and helps me out a ton.
Best thing I've seen is the attention to detail when you press a button on the side of the phone. Try increasing and decreasing the volume and watch the screen near to where the button is. It's the little things!!

I was gonna look it up on google after this video. Thanks for the quick link❤
That emoji is downright terrifying 😂😂😂

Vionentus privacy screen protectors are next level
Finally a video about iOS 18 features that isn't about Apple Intelligence
Really ? I’ve seen more videos like that than apple intelligence

@@TheNuttGuysame, especially given apple intelligence doesn’t exist on ios 18
You forgot the inverted commas around Intelligence.
@@HavingFunTimes yeah, because there is no apple intelligence in iOS18
That math notes feature is pretty cool actually
It's also available in other apple apps, like notes.
Apple finally doing something right taking jailbreak features and refining them
My iPhone 7 looked at me and gulped when I started watching this
My iphone 17 too
same with my iphone SE 1
@@KimYoungUn69 iPhone 17 isn’t even here yet
@@Modi939 it’s there even the iPhone fold phone is there
yooo it’s man
YES, this is an amazing video highlighting those awesome QOL features and actually explaining them properly. Thanks!
Another not talked about feature: for audio nerds like me, Voice Memoes now supports recording in stereo. Go to settings, apps, voice memos, then toggle stereo recording on
The calculator changes are cool.
It's the subtle updates that gives life to iPhone and makes it sooo much better! We love hidden updates!
Superb video, packed with really handy suggestions. So much more useful than control panel customization, etc

This is a more useful video than other RUclips creator videos.
This is why I love this guy, I kind of never watched any video on the topic except for our guy
One of the best videos on iOS 18 ! Excellent! Very useful, just appropriate speed, easy to understand!
The best video about iOS 18 features, and I watched like 10 of them at this point. Good work!
Your video is more organized comparing others. Big like
A comprehensive insight to some not so talked about features in iOS 18. Thank you.
Cracking explanation, TJ, more than anyone else has given us. Well done.
This is a great informative video definitely one of the best ones I've seen. Love some of these features that no one talks about. Thanks!

Now this is some USEFULL features!
I have gotten car sick my whole life and the vehicle motion cues really help
Simply the best, most useful stuff! Been my go-to channel for all stuff Windows, and now the iPhone too haha! Thanks 😊
I know this guy from like 6 years back and learn alot from it.
Thanks ThioJoe
Hi Joe, as an Android user for more than a decade (I think I've only touched an iPhone once), what do you think will be the first thing that will shock, amaze, or surprise me when I start using an iPhone/iOS?
Hm I’d have to think about it cuz i’ve used it so long 🤔
The best thing about Apple is that their features actually work reliably, they aren’t gimmicky like a lot of android features
@@ThioJoe 🙂👍🏻 okay
no bugs - no adware - no virus
Literally everything.

I had made a shortcut for it myself. Nice of it to be accessible now
Super excited about the new updates and the ones you spoke about in your video. Thank you
Ok. This was actually useful
At last, one of those “allll the features” videos that’s actually super useful. Thanks for this!
Very many thanks for these "hidden" tips! Some of them are really useful for me.
i’m actually so happy for this update
Great video, thanks for sharing stuff that’s not just apple intelligence
Great features! SLOW DOWN!!
Yes, please slow down.
ThioJoe iPhone 16 pro or should I wait for S25 ultra?
As a long time Android user, I'm starting to run out of arguments for why it's better than iOS 😭😭 might need to switch over sometime soon...
root, open source, jailbreaks easier, custom phone launchers, apks i could go on for hours

Love that they try to make things easier for us to use. How far we ve come since first iPhone 🎉
The T9 feature was by far my most useful thing that I missed when switching from android to apple. I’m so excited that it’s an apple feature now!
