Playing Super Mario 3D World made me curious about other traditional band renditions of videogame music, that's what caused me to find the channel. There's really nothing else like these guys on RUclips.
In the drum intro I checked if I had accidentally set the video playback speed 1.25. I had not, and you kept the tempo going, with an energy that just blew me away for two and a half minutes, right till the smooth section, without sounding like you were struggling. Just shows how technically proficient everyone is. Brilliant arrangement, too!
The fact that this was animated to an actual cook off makes this song slap twice as hard, and everything is on cue. Wonderfully done! My compliments to the conductor and the music players!

I love how the animator chose to change it from an eating contest / race to _a cooking contest!_ It just fits for some reason! 😁 Also love how, after Kirby wins, he does a victory dance and flies away on a warpstar, exactly like he does at the end of most levels. 😆
I discovered "1, 2, Oatmeal" a couple of weeks ago, and I halfway expected this to be another remix. This is a great arrangement! I guess you could say "What a triumph is thaaaaaaat!"
WOAH! Talk about SUPER!!! This is one of my FAVORITES from Backwards Compatible! Not to mention seeing the addition of some SUPERB VISUALS is (pun 100% intended) being the cherry on top!! Thank you 8BBB (and Kirby) for brightening up the air with some much needed groovy as all heck tunes, ESPECIALLY in these groggy times!!!! We need all the serotonin we can get nowadays. I'm not usually a big fan of jazz, but you guys are the main exception. I don't know how you do it, but lots of your videos bring me to tears because of how beautiful they are. There's definitely something different about your arrangements, but I can't put my finger on it, and I wish I could.
I still have no idea how you've gotten this off the ground financially, with top notch musicians, studio and mixing, but I'm not complaining! My 7-year old son also loves watching along for the faces the drummer makes when focused ;).
I'm lucky to be able to subsidize the cost of this ensemble with my music in other platforms like Bway and film! Thanks for listening, glad your son is having a good time too!

Hands down my favourite cover you all have done. I'm in love with the standing bass, the sax solo, especially the tempo changes! It's so much fun to listen to. I can't imagine all of the hard work everyone had put in.

Personally, I don't care for the solo, though I can see that the soloist is clearly talented--it just doesn't seem to be playing an actual intended melody that complements the song, at least not to my ear. I'd love to hear the arrangement without the solo break, if only for those of us who aren't as jazz-savvy as the rest of your audience. I've always loved this group's music and their passion for it. Keep up the amazing work!

Absolutely amazing! For sure one of my favorite arrangements from the band. I got some Gordon Goodwin vibes from this arrangement, especially the saxophone soli right before the straight swing at the end as well as the straight swing itself (which is definitely not a bad thing)

I just wish their mixing engineer didn’t hate Brass so much, or knew how to mix them better. Every recording this band does that ive heard suffers from the same issues: the brass (trumpets especially) get massively drowned out by the woodwinds, and end up sounding really wimpy.
