Tetris Theme - Contemporary Big Band/Classical Fusion Version (The 8-Bit Big Band)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 3 мар 2019
- A Dub Step + Tchaikovsky + Folk Song + Chopin + Klezmer infused big band arrangement of the Tetris “Theme A”!! (Also known traditionally as "Korobeiniki"). This is one of my favorite arrangements to date. Not only did I include both Tuba and Accordion in this arrangement, I also inserted all sorts of arranging and composing easter eggs for the really attentive listeners out there including:
• Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony
• The Chopin Revolutionary Etude
• Russian Folk songs “Song of the Volga Boatmen” and “Kalinka”
• A Jewish Hora “Mayim Mayim”
and more!! See if you can hear them all! Thanks for listening and subscribing!!

Oh shoot
LOL I loled at your comment and loled that it's actually you.

hi :)
Miyazaki’s worst nightmare
I am the man who arranges the blocks that descend upon me from up above
They come down and I spin them around till they fit in the ground like hands in glove.

Whoever does your little Sprite work is doing a great job. Just as great as all the musicians
@@The8BitBigBand a hero of the People
ok we get it hes a hero
Truly he is a hero!!!
Truly he is a hero !!!
Truly he is a hero!!!
I clicked on this video like "oh yeah they're just gonna do the tetris theme" but holy hell this blew me away in every way imaginable.
I mean Korobeiniki is a great tune in any genre.
PowerfulPaper what about the joke with the soviet "block"
Feel same as you.
Ditto
It’s fabulous!!!
All of those Russian folk song references were great. I liked how you guys slowed everything down on the kalinka part, like how it’s super slow in the beginning.
There are just two rusian songs referenced here. And the first and main song is not a folk song. It was writen on poem of Nikolay Nikrasov.
And one more thing. Thre is no kalinka here. Just "korobushka" and "hey, uhnem".
Andrey r Well, I didn’t mean referencing actual songs. More like referencing cliches or common techniques found in Russian folk songs.
@@GiorboiGiomama Sorry if my reply sound rude.
Andrey r Oh, no problem. Don’t worry about it.
This is probably the most satisfying music video I'll ever watch. Just seeing those tetrominos fall to the beat of the music is top notch
I agree
Thank you sir! Getting those things to fall when I wanted them to was more daunting than I thought it would be!
@@TaylorRussell_TheAnimator :O
Holy cow!! You did an amazing job with this!! Keep up the amazing work! :D
Do you usually do the visuals for these videos?
I do! Each animation to date has been my handiwork and I gotta say, its so wild that I get to do this for such a talented group of musicians!
@@TaylorRussell_TheAnimator wow! I love all of them, but I've got to say, this one, I am Impact and yoshi's island's athletic themes are definitely my favorite ones (so far)
I can't wait to see what you'll get to do with these in the future!!
Can we all appreciate the cinematography of this video
Some of us probably can
Wow the Tchaikovsky Symphony #5 reference at the beginning is a DEEP cut
I knew Tetris was Russian, but it never occurred to me the theme tune was inspired by Kossack music!
The Tetris theme was made by a Japanese man. This is what he thought Russian songs were like.
@@kaelkirkby9191 the creator was russian, so they chose Коробейники/korobeiniki for the theme song.
Dat Lettuce ok I get it I was wrong I’ve been told several times
@@kaelkirkby9191 Tetris Theme B was made to resemble Russian folk music.
swing and a miss, it is a russian folk song
Really appreciate the effort you guys put into each and every song/video. loved it
Thanks so much!!
Thanks so much!!
Do something, Snake!
I love how the feel of the hard drops of Tetris are written right into the song! It of course helps that it is made obvious by the sprite animation, but it's such a cool compositional feature that I'll never unhear when listening to this song again and again.
That rise in tempo at the end is so impressive.
Genius, I love how it’s a contemporary big band/classical fusion... it really gives the Tetris theme an interesting twist
Amazing job! Keep it up :D
It's also nice that they included references to other Russian songs as well.
You guys are really underrated, you should’ve reached 1 million long ago!
3 years later and they're still at 236k.
These guys are so underrated
Woah, this was a lot more intense than I thought it was gonna be both musically and visually.
falkkone: makes everything heavy metal
8-bit big band: makes everything jazz
2:01 - the song is Hey Uhnem (the Song of the Volga Boatmen), and is also featured in the Malinovka theme in World of Tanks :)
Duuuuuuuude this was fire. Not only the playing (as ALWAYS) but those animations!!
Also drummer continuing the tank top trend is 👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Omg its InstrumentManiac
Love it! With that kalinka Part just brilliant! Good Job everyone
I was surprised at the inclusion of the Volga Boatmen song.
This was some great Tetrising, but what place did you finish and how many KOs did you get? :P
Did you secure the excellent Russian Royale comrade?
They obviously got first.

What words can be used? The arrangements coming out of this channel are amazing. I love the electric guitar in this and the big sound at the beginning. Its cool seeing the piano accordian.
Do you have a conductor in this? I want to see what it looks like to conduct this lol.
The band looked like they were having fun and that guy furiously page flipping was funny (If i saw that right)
The 8-Bit Big Band bass and conductor?? Dude 👏👏👏
Chopin's Etude op. 10 nº 12 at the end! 😍 Amazing work
I love the fact the blocks landed on sync with the beat, I love the attention to detail and the different styles you guys pulled. Amazing~
Not only did you guys kill it, but you gave me the name to a song that has eluded me since my childhood: the Song of the Volga Boatman. That's nearly 30 years that tune has rattled around in my head, unnamed.
You all are incredible! Thank you for these wonderful arrangements.
Amazing work. It seems that you guys really push yourselves and your talents to the limit to make interesting and different arrangements of all these classic songs. It shows and it's clearly paying off. Keep it up, this blew me away.
Incredible spin on a classic! Love the animation as well. You guys have quickly become one of my favorite channels!
Fantastic. No other words for it. As I watch all the videos put up so far, I’m continually blown away.
THAT WAS FREAKING EPIC!!!! The mixture of styles the Cossack dance bit, the animation, it was all just PERFECT! Came for the nostalgia, left with a new fav version of one of my fav themes and a big smile on my face! Thank you guys for yet another awesome performance! Seriously when is album 2 out? I need more of this in my life!
Still Alive brought me too you, All your other work keeps me coming back! I love all the time and effort you guys must put into these arrangements.
Both a spectacular and fun piece, bravo! I'm always looking forward to them.

The 8-Bit Big Band Also, you made Tetris into the Eb Major key, I like that!
this was simply incredible and with the little animations is simply a delight to hear
The low brass at 2:27 is GODLIKE
I honestly can't fathom how you all don't have more subs. Each video has been so fantastically professional - this channel has been my childhood wrapped in my favorite styles of music, astronomically impressive!!
I love how this goes from an amazing Tetris theme cover to an amazing Korobieniki arrangement. Very well done!
Awesome as HELL! Liked and subbed! Great job, guys and dolls. Can't wait to hear more.
This is great! This combines my two favorite types of music, jazz and traditional Slavic music. I love it. Davai!

The power the piano has at the end during the buildup is so great, It feels so in your face.
Way to go Charlie. You’ve done it again. I think this might be my favorite as well. Loved the accordion player.
The music is amazing, it’s candy to the ear.
