      Could you please suggest how to keep curls looking bouncy on day 3/4. Usually I have a wash day routine which works well and lasts until the next day but I don't really want to overuse products for refresh on day 3/4 as it can way my curls down which means the top straightens out. Thank you.

      @gemabordeaux4729 4 года назад +11

      @@kirtimaisuria9450 Kirti, I'm with you on not wanting to over apply hair product. It just results in having to wash prematurely. Normally after shampooing, I apply a generous amount of curl defining product. Like you, by the third day there is not much definition. What I do is flip my head between my knees and spritz with inexpensive rose water, but I'm sure water will do. Follow whatever routine you would normally at this stage after wash (air dry, diffuser, etc.) The product on my stands reactivates, and I have bouncy curls again. I hope this works for you.

      I also would love to see a video about how to refresh second or third day waves or curls to look defined and not frizzy. Its hard to fight the frizz without using so much product that my hair gets crunchy. Also, I'm trying to use heat sparingly to keep it healthy.

    Your observation that fine, curly hair can't handle being over-layered is golden. I'm still trying to grow out layers that were cut to "debulk". What they actually did was make the curls look stringy and sad on the bottom hem. I have been methodically cutting my ends blunt as short as I can handle to get real volume back. Real volume being a style that can support itself.

      Exactly. It's a lifelong struggle but I think I know what suits me after many years. Including products. Healthy hair and right cut is more important than any product. I just tell my stylist to give me layers but keeping long at back so back end doesn't look thin and see through. Saying that one hairdresser still had poor skills but the one I have now knows what to do. She is expensive though around £80 but I get a discount on that.

But I've got to learn what to ask for but again cheaper stylists don't know how to layer our hair type tbh.

    Hi Justin, I have thin fine hair that has some natural curl. The curl is a huge benefit to me in humid weather because it provides some volume when I desperately need it. I blow dry my hair straight for the most part. I have tried to go curly in the past but my hair never looked good because the curl was very uneven...curlier in the front than in the back...so it just looked kind of frizzy and flat in the back. Actually I get much better curl when I blow dry it straight but then get caught in drizzly rain, the ringlets i get in the front are lovely. I don't get those when I leave my hair to dry naturally or with curl-inducing sprays.

    Yes, please do a series on curly hair. It would be helpful if you could get models with different curl texture and density. There are not many videos on RUclips with fine, thin kinky hair. I used to have layers when I was younger. My texture was different and I had a lot more hair. Now; it’s unruly and needs to be one length, so I can manage it and keep it neat and tidy looking by styling it in updos. I find that I like to pull it back in a low messy bun, a side pony tail, or even a loose twist with a jaw clip. The jaw clips are life savors because they hold fine hair. I keep it loose at the crown and it looks like I have hair. There is a lot of air in my hair for that I feel fortunate as well as the curls. If I wear my hair down, which is rare, I will finger curl it and let it air dry. Finger curling it somehow removes the frizz. My hair can be frizzy. I also style it half up half down, but not finger curled. When I finger curl my hair, yes, it reduces the frizz substantially; however, it also makes it flatter, smoother, and pretty ringlets and not kinky frizz. That being said, my finger curled hair doesn’t work in and updo or half up half down. It shows my scalp and doesn’t have enough volume at the root. Maybe a curly hair series is too involved for you to create because there are so many variables with it including air quality and humidity and such. Personally, I would really love it if you did create a series with several different varieties of texture, density, and curl. Thank you.

Also, i would appreciate getting tips on how I can cut my bangs. Yes, i have watched your bangs vids but, again, cutting/styling curly-hair bangs would be different in cutting lengths, etc. Thanks!!

    Since moving to Florida, my salt and pepper fine curly hair refuses to straighten. I’ve been straightening or big-curling it with a styler for years. But the humidity here will not allow me wear it straighter. So I’m having to embrace my fine curls and it’s not easy. My A line Bob has grown out almost to my shoulders but it just looks horrible. The curls shrink up and look like a frizzy bob from the 80’s. I’ve been considering a wig!
    And I can’t seem to find the right product that makes my curls look defined yet doesn’t make my hair brassy. I need products that don’t contain a lot of yucky ingredients yet is good for curly and salt and pepper hair.
    I love the professional quality of your videos. You are a natural! Please continue with more videos on curly hair. 🙌

    Love your videos! Thank you! My hair is naturally curly but since I’ve been in my 50’s some areas of my hair are losing curl and looking frizzy. In order to wear curly hair I have to set rollers in some areas. And even that doesn’t hold the curl. I actually have good volume. I have let my hair grow long with long layers. But I’m getting that triangle look also. I believe I need more layers but I don’t want it short or a shag look. I like to put my hair up a lot. So I would love more videos on curly hair tips and products. Thank you

    First, I especially appreciate your channel addressing the consumer rather than the stylist! I am in my late 60s and have struggled with my hair nearly every day of my life. It is fine, but not sparse, and is a combination of straight, wavy and curly that doesn’t start its pattern at the root. Imagine random flips and waves mingled with straight pieces. I have found that a short pixie has been the easiest style for me, although the next morning it is “poofed” on top, flat in the middle and doing a number of tricks on the bottom. I am so tired of super short hair and would love to know if you would address hair like mine including suggestions for more length and modern, sporty styling?

Luckily my hairdresser is very clever, and I've stuck to a blunt ear lobe-length bob (3a curls) because I love how chic it is but also for "bigness". Would love to know though, how to refresh our type of hair? If I sleep on my hair that's it - back to square one. Dampening it doesn't get the volume or curls back. My hair is so thin too, but I appreciate the curls I have because it does make it look a little thicker. But the curls vary so much! Some are only wavy and some are as tight as a pencil! Any way to make it look more uniform? And finally, how to avoid the horrible KNOTS that come from even stepping outside in the wind and humidity in Florida! My hair always tangles so much. Its VERY frustrating! THANK YOU so much for all the great videos! You have a great camera personality...very natural! Wish I lived closer to your Salon!

    Thank you for the video on fine curly hair. As a woman with fine curly hair it is hard to find photos to show the stylist bc most photos you see online the hair is fuller/thicker/higher density and those cuts wouldn’t look the same on my fine/thin hair. Right now I am struggling bc my hairdresser tends to cut my top layer too short. I think she is looking to add volume but it leaves me with holes/gaps on the sides of my head right in front of my ears. I feel like curlies have to decide the balance between volume and definition and for me it is also volume or fullness.

    Thanks for this. I have baby fine strands, but curly. The problem I find is that most stylists I find have no idea how to deal with curly hair, they always claim that they do, but soon I start to realize that they don't actually, I guess they think they do. It has been a huge problem, I got tired of all of them at the end pulling out the dryer and round brush. That doesn't work with my hair, it looks horrible after, then they want to pull out the flat iron...I guess most people don't want to just go with the natural texture of their hair, idk? I also found when I would say that I don't want any of that, I want to just go with my natural curls, they still don't understand. I generally like to just let my hair air dry, I would love to see how to do that AND get volume. Another problem that I have and think is common with baby fine hair strands, how do I avoid the dreaded ramen noodle curls but nice big curls?

What used to be 2b 2c 3a is more of like sad, limp noodle...which brings me to the next hurdle being product! My ends want to dry and split so easily (even after a fresh cut) so protein is a concern down low, whereas too much weight from moisture up top leaves my hair heavy and drawn out!
