OTA updates have been such a pain for my Mach-e, several trips to the dealer and no-luck. Saw this video and have now received 2 updates in 24hrs. THANK YOU!!
was your blue cruise not working? My truck came with the map expired for blue cruise to work and dealer has no idea how to update this. pretty frustrating. Just followed the video now and hope updates start happening.
@@jskyba so I cancelled an update back in December and all updates completely stopped, so my bluecruise wasn’t working and I was about 4 or 5 updates behind. I’m not sure how “the map expired” works, but I followed this and after about 3 or 4 days, I had bluecruise and the most up to date software. The dealership could help you and they’re choosing not to if you ask me…I was close to ordering the computer hook up thing and doing it myself, but thanks to this guy, I didn’t have to.
@@rmcglynn80 thank you. I hope this solves all issues. had it at dealership for a day and they said car is not taking any updates. but today I got 3.5.2 and now am doing these new steps from vide to see if I can get more updates
I rebooted the screen twice as you said then I connected to wi-fi when I went to the next step went to general scrolled all the way to bottom but there is no send feedback icon to select. What do I do in this case?
2024 Ford Lightning is still on the sync4 system. Our 2023 has done two minor updates in 3 months and I’m WAY behind on updates. Hoping this method works…
Update: have been doing this procedure multiple times per week, it worked and I got some updates, but I’m stuck on Sept 2023, and it’s Aug 2024… so maybe this worked but not much success in the past dozen attempts
4/22/23-New 2023 Bronco will not connect to Ford Pass Wi-Fi will not allow me to turn it off. Also when I search for Wi-Fi networks none show. The vehicle modem is not working. The connected menu is not showing either. Have called Ford Technology several times. They are saying this is a known issue and to wait for the next over the air update. It appears to me this vehicle will not update. We will see. Sucks to buy a brand new vehicle and not have the technology working.
I’m having a failure to update for the first time on this truck. 2021 f150 sync 4. I followed your procedures and when i tapped on the screen too review updates, all i got was it saying there was an available update described below and there was nothing below. On my FordPass app on my cell phone, it describes the update. This update has failed 4 times now. I called ford customer service about this and they told me what was showing up on their end was that it failed because of my battery not being up to charge. I put my battery on a tender charger to full capacity and the update still failed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated?
Same here. My truck has over 28 attempts to update and still no love. Trickle charged the battery to get it up to full and still no successful update. With all the electronic extraneous activity going on in this truck, why can't they use an charger from the hybrid battery to keep the truck's 12 volt topped off? I'm retired but have a part time job for something to do. It's 10 minutes away from where I live so not much charging going on. Eventually I go to a dark truck in the morning after a while. Just maddening. Never had to worry about my 12 volt or have to manually charge the battery on anything I've owned over the years. This one is supposed to wipe my ass, but I guess it uses so much battery power waiting to wipe that the battery goes low. There's where the darn inverter would come in handy. It's a pretty obvious oversight in my opinion. Anyway, the update battle rages on! (Why do we need to put the parking brake on??? It was never explained.)
@@SgtBFGunner I took my truck to the dealer to let them update it and it kept failing for them too. They said the apim module was bad and would need replaced. $900 fix. They also told me they had to replace several of them. Not good news.

Hey brother is your truck flareside? If it is where did you get the pocket fender flares, been having trouble finding some all they have is for styleside beds.
Waiting on the big full screen update for the F250, I understand it is 5gb. Do you need to be truck modem, or can I keep it on my wifi/fiber to help speed up the download?
The best method that I have found is to shut off the wifi, make sure you're somewhere that has good cell signal, and let it download that way. It doesnt cost you anything to do it that way.
Hello, So we have a 2022 F-150 with all the Options, Why is it that our TRUCK isn't being sent the OTA Updates for the Blue Cruise System??? No one has the answer so far and our system is at 1.0?????? What gives, would you gave any Idea??
You can try, but sites like F150forums and F150gen14 are filled with anecdotal experiences noting that you'll have the best chance with downloads coming over your cell modem as opposed to wifi.
Yes, there are issues with a small file downloaded near the end of the 3.5.3 update that doesnt seem to be completing for a lot of folks. My truck is in the same boat. Just wait it out or use FDRS.
You can go to the forums and ask guys to run your vin to see if there is a pending update. The guy told me I didn’t have a pending update in 60 days so looks like it hasn’t been my turn yet. That and my battery is bad. Doesn’t hold charges and my auto start/stop get disabled so that’s going to be an issue for me too whenever it actually gets pushed to me.
Check the OTA site linked in the description to see if Ford is even pushing updates to your truck right now. There are also issues with 3.5.3 that are causing it to not install.
Gonna give it a shot tonight. Just got 2.7.3 randomly today and apparently that came out in February so need to try to force it. Will report back. Only thing different on my end was I didn’t get a message after rebooting the screen twice…..
Thanks for the video. I just ran this through. Hoping that 3.5 update comes in. Here is the Wikipedia article for this curious en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Power-Up_Version_History
There are a lot of variables involved with actually getting the updates form Ford. The 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 updates have been a bit of a train wreck for Ford and are just starting to go out to MY21 and MY22 trucks. You might need to wait until it gets in your update queue, check the description for a link to how to see that for your truck.
Looks Like NO ONE KNOW'S WHAT THEY ARE DOING, OR TALKING ABOUT!!!! And FORD Has NOT A CLUE EITHER!!! And This Is OLD STUFF. You should Come Back and UPDATE IT!!!! An OTA UPDATE Got Rid of this Update Stuff.... And..... FORD Said to NOT take the Truck Off of WIFI!!!! DO NOT Do it.
Don't you see the problem? Your car shouldn't need that many updates it should be Built correctly the first time. I think I'll just buy something that works the first time instead of having to jump through hoops and go on forums to make my car work correctly. And we have many issues at the dealer programming as well. Half the time system is down
There's definitely something different going on with these updates. I'm just a couple behind but it's my understanding that 4.1.1 thru 4.1.3 have been out since January. I finally got the first of 3, and was told by ford that the updates cone out to the oldest produced lightnings to tge newest. If that's true then I should've been one of the first to get all the updates. Mine came to the dealer June of last year. So I returned to the deal to have them push the other 2 updates, only to find out that the other 2 updates aren't available yet for my lightning platinum to be pushed. Strange. So just because there are newer updates for the lightning out there doesn't mean they are available for your VIN. Everyone tells me to be patient. Now I'm thinking that even if I had an ODB-2 with a paid subscription you may not be able to get these updates.
