- The Sync4 media screen inside of the Ford F150 was introduced back in 2021! It brings an enhanced voice assistant, smoother interface and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. There's a slight change in the 2024 model, with the navigation system now only having the option for Connected Navigation that will require an after subscription after the trial period. In this video I go over everything about the screen from how to connect a phone to moving through different vehicle settings.
You'll learn a lot but if you've already bought the truck or are thinking about buying it.. this is a video that you have to watch!

Just learned the “direct tune”
Thanks Steve!
You're welcome Josip!
Nice! Very helpful and informative.
Thanks Jim!
As always, Steve, your videos are very comprehensive. Thanks for your hard work. Regarding how you level the bass, mid-range and treble, I always understood you should format them like a parabola: high on the bass and treble, with mid-range lower by two periods. Of course, that comes from the days when add-on equalizers with little led lights on home stereos were all the rage. I may be hopelessly out of date.
Thanks so much Patrick! I've played around with the settings a bit but I'll try some more tests with the mid-range a bit lower to see how it sounds
Great vid Steve. Hope you do one for the new Chevy Blazer soon. I think you’re the best 😊
Thanks! Working on getting my hands on one, it's on the list though
Is that the same system that's in the 23 Bronco Raptor
Some slightly different features between them but it's pretty much identical
How do you change the theme? I really hate the blue edging in dark mode. Makes it look so tacky
You'd think there would be an option for different themes but it's either the day or night modes...
Where do I get that update? $$$$$
What year F150 do you have right now?
My 2024 sync 4 doesn't have a lot of that. Must be cause it's an xlt without nav or sirius
Some of the features are trim level specific.. but you should have navigation in the XLT though. Connected navigation is standard, you just need to connect your phone though the FordPass app to activate it
@@CarsWithSteve I have nav only when android auto is running. I am connected with ford pass. Sync connects to phone then android auto takes over.
I cant full screen on my 21 f150 any reason why
If it's updated to the latest version, you should be able to go full screen. What trim level do you have?
same. says the system is up to date but i don't have the fullscreen option
Where do I get that update?
Put google maps on 3D and 😍
It does look really good!
Turn that treble up….lol
Lol
Ford really misses the mark on small details that would make their vehicles feel modern and refined. That useless "info bar" frame surrounding the "full screen" Apple CarPlay is so tacky looking. If you ever driven another modern vehicle, the full screen CarPlay is truly full screen and it looks so sharp. Mixing Ford's 1990-era fonts and icons with Apple CarPlay design just doesn't translate as good design. Another modern detail that would be nice on the F150/F250 upper trim levels would be a digital rear view mirror.
If they don't get feedback from people they'd have no idea what people do and don't like. Full screen CarPlay does look good.. and the next gen screen solves that ;) I'm surprised more vehicles don't have the option for the digital rearview, I've always been a fan of that. Kia/Hyundai offer a blindspot view camera right in the cluster that looks great. So many things to try and build the perfectly loaded car
NexGen as in 2024? I’m looking at getting a Lariat. Is there a difference between that and XLT/Trimmer as far as options?
I don't like the new my truck 23 f150 xlt 5.0. My 2020 f150 xlt 5.0 is a better truck than the new f150 xlt don't like the sink 4 system at all
Is it just the media screen you aren't a fan of? What issues are you finding with it?
