As always, Steve, your videos are very comprehensive. Thanks for your hard work. Regarding how you level the bass, mid-range and treble, I always understood you should format them like a parabola: high on the bass and treble, with mid-range lower by two periods. Of course, that comes from the days when add-on equalizers with little led lights on home stereos were all the rage. I may be hopelessly out of date.
Try deleting the phone and then re-adding it.. Remove the connection to the phone from the trucks bluetooth connections and remove the bluetooth connection from phone's bluetooth settings. The if you're on an iPhone go to Settings --> General --> CarPlay and delete your truck from there. Then reconnect your phone!
Yup.. launch Waze through CarPlay and then go back to the home screen, and tune to the station that you want. Re-launch CarPlay and you should be good to go! Other option.. if you have a good data plan is to just download the SiriusXM phone app and run that through CarPlay instead
@roccooneill if you have Android Auto...touch the directional arrows on the screen and it should change to full screen. Touch it again and it will go to smaller screen.
What year is your F150? Google maps through Apple CarPlay you need to press the zoom icon on the screen to adjust it. In Android Auto it's pinch to zoom
I want to expand google maps full screen. I saw it done on another 2021 lariat simply by touching icon in left corner. MIne has no icon and says phonelist instead. Do certain packages of truck give you separate sync 4 options.
The full screen feature was released on the screens in 2022 I believe.. I'm actually surprised Ford didn't roll the feature out to the existing screens too. I'm assuming yours is fully updated right?
Some of the features are trim level specific.. but you should have navigation in the XLT though. Connected navigation is standard, you just need to connect your phone though the FordPass app to activate it
Ford really misses the mark on small details that would make their vehicles feel modern and refined. That useless "info bar" frame surrounding the "full screen" Apple CarPlay is so tacky looking. If you ever driven another modern vehicle, the full screen CarPlay is truly full screen and it looks so sharp. Mixing Ford's 1990-era fonts and icons with Apple CarPlay design just doesn't translate as good design. Another modern detail that would be nice on the F150/F250 upper trim levels would be a digital rear view mirror.
If they don't get feedback from people they'd have no idea what people do and don't like. Full screen CarPlay does look good.. and the next gen screen solves that ;) I'm surprised more vehicles don't have the option for the digital rearview, I've always been a fan of that. Kia/Hyundai offer a blindspot view camera right in the cluster that looks great. So many things to try and build the perfectly loaded car
@@CarsWithSteve i have an xlt with the 302 high package and black appreance package...18,000 dollars in options....i just realized that it shows in side when the heater or a/c is on....lol , my bad.
Android Auto is a piece of garbage. Worst feature in my truck. Ruined the whole enjoyment of a truck that when buying, I thought I would love....now it's a total regret. Especially when traveling...I will never buy another new vehicle with this system in it again. 😢 Ruined a totally good 4x4. By installing a junkie radio system. And navigation.
You know you don't have to use Android Auto right? And that it's not Fords fault but the UI of Android Auto itself... Pretty much every car has support for Android Auto so you're going to have to go used to find one that doesn't have it

Thanks so much Patrick! I've played around with the settings a bit but I'll try some more tests with the mid-range a bit lower to see how it sounds
Just learned the “direct tune”
Thanks Steve!
You're welcome Josip!
So much stuff... I'm way behind on much of this.. Thanks for the explanation!!
There really is a lot to know. Did you have an older F150 before upgrading to one with this technology?
@@CarsWithSteve No, this is my first time ever in the ford ecosystem... It's all new to me. Came from Toyota..
Fair enough! What build did you end up going with?
Great vid Steve. Hope you do one for the new Chevy Blazer soon. I think you’re the best 😊
Thanks! Working on getting my hands on one, it's on the list though
Nice! Very helpful and informative.
Thanks Jim!
How do you get rid of that window that show the news section? It drives me crazy! It's called "For You".
Is that the same system that's in the 23 Bronco Raptor
Some slightly different features between them but it's pretty much identical
I have a 2021 xlt, and i have never been able to turn on my wireless app projection to get all these features. Any help?

Can you listen to XM while using CarPlay? (Waze or other non "music")

Is there a way to turn on 360cameras automatically when you are driving below 5 miles per hour?
Nope.. just by pressing the button
I cant full screen on my 21 f150 any reason why
If it's updated to the latest version, you should be able to go full screen. What trim level do you have?
same. says the system is up to date but i don't have the fullscreen option
Where do I get that update?
@roccooneill if you have Android Auto...touch the directional arrows on the screen and it should change to full screen. Touch it again and it will go to smaller screen.
Same
Why does my sync 4 have phone list in left hand corner and yours has time and temp. Please tell me how to enlarge google maps on screen. Thanks

@@CarsWithSteve Yes sir.
How do you change the theme? I really hate the blue edging in dark mode. Makes it look so tacky
You'd think there would be an option for different themes but it's either the day or night modes...
My 2024 sync 4 doesn't have a lot of that. Must be cause it's an xlt without nav or sirius

@@CarsWithSteve I have nav only when android auto is running. I am connected with ford pass. Sync connects to phone then android auto takes over.
Put google maps on 3D and 😍
It does look really good!
Where do I get that update? $$$$$
What year F150 do you have right now?

NexGen as in 2024? I’m looking at getting a Lariat. Is there a difference between that and XLT/Trimmer as far as options?
I have sync 4 but mines isn’t able to go full screen
Really? What year is your F150? And it is this larger screen right?
@@CarsWithSteveyes, I have a 2021 king ranch. And it does have the 12” screen
Is yours up to date with the latest software version?
@@CarsWithSteveno I don’t believe so
Check under system updates.. There was a mid cycle update but I'm not 100% if that's been rolled back to 2021 models yet
my sync doesnt show inside and outside temps
What year is your F150?

HAHA well at least you figured it out. I never even thought to ask if the HVAC was turned on. How are you liking the truck so far?
Can you do youtube videos in park
Not yet.. Ford just added RUclips video support to the 2024 Mach-E but unsure if they're rolling it out across the whole Sync4 lineup
Turn that treble up….lol
Lol
I don't like the new my truck 23 f150 xlt 5.0. My 2020 f150 xlt 5.0 is a better truck than the new f150 xlt don't like the sink 4 system at all
Is it just the media screen you aren't a fan of? What issues are you finding with it?
