very good video, I had bolts in the middle of the console and the coffee cup holder has to be removed (just pull up on tab and twist out) and then fold back what holds the lighter to have access to these 10mm bolts, note plastic has to clear the bushings where those bolts are to slide the console back. The two screws in the vent vanes are designed to stay in the assembly once unscrewed. The whole job can be done without a magnetic pickup but useful if you have fat fingers. I had to remove the key switch so to take the switch off the panel simply use a small flat and pry on a tab of the outer ring and push counter-clock wise.
Thank you for the video I really appreciate it I’ve been doing it for the last four years rough and trying to figure it outAnd makes it a lot easier for me thank you
@@AndyPMercedesBenzChannel I'm having this problem right now, where my key wont turn at all when you put the key in to start the car . Mercedes told me something about a " E.I.S " replacement. Not sure what to do .

Does the ignition switch have to be programmed by a computer to work? Or can you buy a new one and it’s ready to go?
I don't know this. Never looked into that
Need help I working with a Mercedes Benz 2005 c230 kompressor steering wheel is locked key doesn't wanta turn but the car wants to work
Look at this cable, either at the transmission side or at the Ignition lock.
Key still won't turn after replacing the ignition switch and key with a working one. For sure, the key was bad, but now I don't know what's the issue.
Did you ever fix it ? I need help
Great well done u did it
Could this cable be the reason why the key will not allow the switch to turn to the on position
Its a possibility, this cable runs from the shifter.. I cant remember now exact function of the cable
