The Most Recognizable Voice in New York
Producer: Andrew David Watson Развлечения
My favorite sound in the whole world: "Stand clear of the closing doors, please."
AGREED! Especially after the train has been sitting in the station for 5 minutes..im like "FINALLY"
ShikagoMale1 yup
Ladies and Gentlemen, this is an important message from the New York City Police Department. Keep your belongings in sight at all times. Protect yourself. If you see a suspicious package or activity on the platform or train, do not keep it to yourself. Tell a Police Officer or an MTA employee. Remain alert and have a safe day.
ShikagoMale1 bing bong doors closing
KTG lmao Chicago Metra plays the doors closing announcements right as they open
“Here we go”
"Metronome"
@@solseclipse man I'm up to something.

@@solseclipse i hope you like the show cuz its on a budget.
@@jedgefootball So ooh-de-la-dee-do, yeah, come on, here we go, yeah, come on here we go
Aww, so sad he had to erase his British accent just because some brats somehow convinced him being special was wrong. But it turned to be a nice story.
I agree. English accents are pretty cool. It’s a shame he fought so hard to remove his own accentZ
And now his voice haunts the bullies forever
Come on, when you're a kid, you wanna fit in and it's easier to change things like your accent to adapt.
I mean, I’d wanna change on _my own_ accord, I’d rather not want a bunch of brats try and make me change. They can stick it up theirs if they think I would just to make them feel better
Aidan McLeod But literally!! His voice is so iconic now, it will actually haunt his bullies XDD
He would have never got his job with a British accent
Who else is here after hearing "Bang!" by AJR?
Me haha
mee 😂
lol same
i didn’t know he was the guy who said here we go and metronome until the how we made video came out

I remember the subway announcements before they made this change. They were usually incomprehensible. It was terrible. This was an incredible improvement.
StepInStandClearClosingDoorsPlease
they still have the old trains that have incomprehensible announcements, i sometimes end up missing my stop because i can’t hear what they’re saying lol
They were looseleaf-secrets.
Chicago's transit system, too, hired a great voice (Lee Crooks) for clear and mannerism-free announcements.
ruclips.net/video/6c7NGPD9ViE/видео.html
@@tharamendoza6287 Sometimes when there's construction or something, they override the automatic announcements, which are written for clarity and to help the visually impaired. Instead, the operator blabs something in a hurry and with no thought to clarity. Yabbita-blabbita-closing doors.
Yeah I loved his voice in that song by AJR and that's the reason I came here
Same
when he has a comical, romantic, and gritty voice 😩👌🏼
karina murphy here they come
so this is two years too late but I came to this video to sample the train announcer and these comments had me confused. Until I remembered the PSAT. I didn't know PSAT memes went this hard.
Shut up.
Incredible, the most famous and best known voice in New York City. Every tourist recognize the specific voice of Charlie Pellet
Ruud Mulder The Netherlands

Such an Iconic voice, seriously. Probably the most iconic voice in New York.
"Please be mindful of the gap between the platform, and the train."
4CN Shon NO, now stand clear of the closing doors!
No comma though.
Its please be careful of the gap between the platform and the train.
BANG by AJR = Subway voice
This man’s voice was always there for us in our whole lives.
OH MY GOSH IT’S THE “HERE WE GO” GUY!
Here We Go!
“Metronome”
this man got on an ajr song
Charlie Pellett's voice needs to be recorded and preserved forever. His voice should keep being used for the NYC Subway, it is iconic.
He should replace the overwatch announcers
AI can do it now
3yrs back it probably wasn’t possible. However, now with the help of AI it is possible
So who’s the female counterpart? There’s a woman as well who announces the station you arrive to.
And there is a video for that too:

NYCT needs to keep that recording for all future rolling stock.
Here we go and metronome you can add to his iconic lines
was not expecting this video to be produced so beautifully. the cinematography, sound mixing, and editing is superb. and the cherry on top is obviously this man's voice and story. s-tier video
Here we go
Yes....his voice in the song makes my day Everytime.
My earliest broadcast is at my school, where I am announcing school bus route numbers, and certain students names, over the school's loudspeakers, and I have been enjoying the job a lot.
@MP.4 Channel Nice!
His comic, romantic, and gritty voice ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I didn't say a name but he still popped into your head didn't he?
Alison Barrera Hahahaha
I've ALWAYS wanted to see this video. I knew it existed somewhere, but I decided to let it come to me. And it has, after all these years.
Love this piece. Perfectly produced for a four minute story. I remember hearing Charlie while at 1010 WINS.
GrandFunalley Media Same!
GrandFunalley Media He's currently working at Bloomberg Radio in Lexington-59th.
@Grandfunalley Media Yes, it is perfectly produced for a four minutes story, isn't it.
He’s the guy who does the stocks on 1010. Hear him all the time.
his voice is so comical, gritty and sexy

The Mrs. is a retired pastry chef who spent 12 years working in The City at 2 very upscale restaurants. Now that she is in her second career and misses New York City so much with the pandemic, when I open the door for her to get in the car I always say, stand clear of the closing doors please!
God Bless this guy forever because the nostalgia hitting different ❤
HERE WE GO!
His voice appeared in Spiderverse!
Kevan Brighting is the Narrator for Stanley.
This guy is the Narrator for the whole damn NYC.
His comic, romantic, and gritty voice ❤️❤️
Beautiful 🤗🤗🤗 no words to describe his voice love it 👍👍👍👍
Great video - Subway system and yes memorable voice !!
I love this: "stand clear of the closing doors, please". !!!!!
I love that sound it’s one of my favourite things in New York, has it been recorded for a text message tone ?
A beautiful voice ♥️
I hear him every day his voice is stuck in my head 😂
Awesome!
This guy's a legend
Great story, nicely told -and great job with the accent. We should all enjoy some degree of luck and return on personal effort that Mr. Pellett has.
HERE WE GO
makes me tear up
@Eric Wilke Awwwwww
I’m not a New Yorker, but I recognize his voice since I’ve been to NY many times so far.
Metronome
I am happy to hear that "Stand clear of the closing doors, please!" all the time when I am in NYC!
this guy did a voice in my favorite song
SO COOL!!!
met Mr. Pellett, he's a cool dude, but this is for you Charlie: fix the announcement @ 59th St on the 6, it needs to be ("transfer to the 4, 5, N, R & W trains; a free transfer is also available to the F & Q trains by walking to the Lex Av-63rd St station and using your metrocard") & when its on the 4/5: announce the 6 first & then the lettered lines in the same order I mentioned above
Might want to change it when metrocards get removed and replace with omny
I like nyc announcements and I sound like you like stand clear closing doors please but I'm a kid lol
Here we go ;)
I love his Littering announcements
I always wondered who the guy was. I love his voice. It’s so classic.
This is awesome :D :)
On the SkyTrain in Vancouver the voice for the announcements is Loreen Reagan and she’s pretty good too
Hearing the words “Stand clear of the closing doors, please.” goes hard after leaving that station due to a train being held up.
HERE WE GO!!
sir i heard your voice everyday for 6 years how fing cool!
Vaya, que tipo tan simpático!
I think they picked him because he sounds closest to Jack Wagner's announcements on the Disney World Monorail
The most memorable moments in my eight day visit to New York.
Lovely voice.
amazing.
Dude I thought they used the guy who counted push-ups but this is just as good
“Up, down, 1. Up, down, 2. Up, down, 3.”
i like his voice
If I were him every time I was on the subway I would confuse people with my voice
50% of comments: omg wow this is the guy on the subway :)
other 50%: Bang! by AJR
I took my boyfriend to NYC for the very first time this January! He is a Vegas native while I was born and raised in NYC. He absolutely loved the “Stand clear of the closing doors” announcements and the subsequent sounds. It was very nostalgic for me as well, and I love hearing it too.
Somehow I always find myself repeating that right after you! trying to sound like you off course! Lol... stand clear of the closing doors please.!
" HERE WE GO"
So, is he the NYC subway's voice guy? It's impossible not to recognize it. It's so iconic!
I grew up with his voice on the subway.
I’m a big fan of your voice
Metronome hits hard
A happy man. How I envy him. I would love to be the voice of the Berlin U-Bahn. (But I really find the "Mind the gap"-bloke more interesting, what a haunting voice. I always wonder if he scares little children.) Are there any gaps to be reminded of on the subway of NYC?
@LaWendeltreppe, yes, but he says "be careful of the gap between the train and the platform."
I've been calling him the "Dapper Man"!
@Melissa Moon Awww, that's cute!
I miss NY. So just to feel brink of an athmosphere I searched first thing popped on my mind -STAND CLEAR OF THE CLOSING DOOR PLEASE. Nice.
Lol this is hilarious!!!!
I like how people relate to your voice
And then me who doesn’t know you at all
Cool!
I listen to him all the time on 1010WINS and never knew he was the "Voice".
Wait when does he broadcast on 1010?
What a legend
I have that as my ringtone
What
Hasta que se me hizo conocer a "La voz del Metro de NY" Saludos desde México
Wow! I don’t know it’s him until he says the words....
OMG ITS THE GUY WHO SAYS “Stand clear of the closing doors please”
The LEGO Guy 752 nooooo omg really??? 😂
This is my best memory of NYC - yes, there are a lot of fascinating stuff, but sorry guys, that's what I always will remember
