I personally find it most comfortable to economy pick (6th string alternate picked, starting with an upstroke, 5th and 4th string all upstrokes). Everything has a different feel, I personally find Mishas picking to be the hardest, but that's a great alternate picking/string skipping exercise.

Literally just one more band has 3 guitarists. And Iron maiden Definitely uses all three guitarists to their full potential, from the dual guitar harmonies to the three back to back solos in several of their songs.

He can use his pinky just fine but from what I've seen he does favor the thumb-over-neck type of left hand technique where you use 3 fingers 90% of the time

practice it the normal way, just slow the tempo down and eventually your muscle memory will pick it up, and you will be able to push further along with developing your hand :D

Your alternate picking is all that matters when playing the main riff, ive found its easiest to play and sounds the best when you down pick the first two notes, instead of alternating all of the picks. I never knew its what mark does to, but you can see it here, so im assuming its the correct way to play

I was intrigued though, so I went and listened to the actual song and it's Cm -> Fm6 -> G7 -> Csus4/G (and back down)... which you can easily play on standard 7 string I guess. Fuck retuning :D

Josh Leahy OD cranked, Gain at 14:00, neck pickup, tone and volume dials at max, don't let bass overpower treble and mids. Frankly, I don't know how you're going wrong here.

Tim Dawson their seven string tuning is generally Drop Ab, so close but just down a half step.
It is in A=440. It's just that 440 is on the 7th fret 1st string instead of the 5th fret :p

I prefer to play the riff using 1,3 and 4th finger, unlike Mark...feels less painfull for me :)
