Been missing big chirds. harmonies are usually just another guitar track playing a melody instead of using them basic structures and add4 or b7 or whatever and it needs to come back. also love circus Maximus for this reason

Every Holcomb SE I’ve played feels amazing, extremely consistent guitar
I love mine, and seeing Mark play it so much makes me feel like it’s a really solid instrument and not just a budget signature.
I agree however I have a horrible time with string buzz above the 12th fret and intonation of the low E, But the neck/ frets/pickups are all amazing.
My roommate and I both have one and use it daily :) the alpha/omega set just sings so beautifully in that guitar

I had no idea that there were tapping riffs/notes in this song,but that’s always welcome in my mind since it’s super tasty.
And challenging to play but I’m always up for one even though i have to admit that it took me 4 days to learn the song and play it at album speed......one of my fave of all time

I love how clean his playing is. All that movement across the fretboard and lots of right hand movement and still, no string noise. Mark is amazing!

I hate string noise! One of my current problems. And I notice I nick the string with my pointer finger when I try to speed pick. But I’m starting to get sweeping down! Just a couple riffs, but I’ll get there! Keep playing!
when you can tell a story that brings you to tears, without saying a single word. But with just a guitar and pick in your hands... That's what this track does for me.

I can tell he wrote this. There was so much passion especially at the end
I was suffering immensely from depersonalisation/derealisation as a symptom of anxiety around the time P4 came out. It made me utterly miserable and suicidal. I’ve never connected with a lyric more than “the warmth that reflects let’s me know I’m still alive”. I listened to that album most days for months, and I’m happy to say I’m in a better place now. Hearing my musical idols tell me I was going to be okay was a huge help. Thank you for everything you do ❤️

I have marigold, scarlet, have a blast, omega, buttersnips, sentient glow, and a couple others down so far... Not complete, but I'm working my way through them. Marigold and scarlet I have down start to finish. The others I'm various lengths through

Mark has been my inspiration and favorite overall guitarist for the last 6 or so years. He's absolutely brilliant when it comes to writing "metal" guitar among other things. He takes a unique and fresh approach to writing and it's videos like these that make me pickup my guitar and want to be better.
I love the fact this was originally a Haunted Shores song. Makes me think back to when I first discovered Haunted Shores and was completely and utterly mind fucked, so much so that it totally made me change my approach to metal guitar playing. Hi Mrak.
I love watching this song evolve. I remember years back I was a contributor to an online metal webzine and once upon a time I did an email interview with Mark and Chris re: cyclaman split ep which to this day is some of the most beautiful cover art I have ever seen

What amazes me the most with periphery, is the chord voicings they use. Even with distortion it sounds good. I dunno who intonates those damn guitars, but i can never make mine sound as good.
I think its the pickup, it really does maintain the clarity

Getting to know Periphery is such a rollercoaster. First it's like "yeah the singer Spencer really steals the show, what an amazing register AND he growls, awesome!"

And then you see this video and you realize "holy shit this entire band is run by absolute maniacs, every single one of these musicians is insanely good at what they do AND it works well together"
