  • I had a Gastric Bypass on December 1, 2020 at Mexico Bariatric Center in Tijuana Mexico. This video is all about vitamins! Vitamins play a very important role after weight loss surgery, whether you've had the Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG) or the RNY Gastric Bypass. I discuss what I did pre-op to prepare for taking vitamins with my new tummy, as well as the vitamin requirements that were sent to me by the nutritionist and what my current vitamin regimen is.
    This video is for general information and to share my experience only; it is not intended to offer medical advice. Always consult your physician and surgical team for medical information. *

    I am in 3 months post surgery. If my dietitian had advised this of the sample packets. Thank you for helping. I wished that I had found your channel 1st. It is overwhelming of the weight loss journeys on RUclips. You are the most informative!

      Right?? Editing that footage I was like...okay I can see that haha. Pictures weren't doing it justice for me but watching myself on camera sure is different. It's so funny how we have a hard time seeing the progress on ourselves!

    I’m considering (once I’ve discussed what Vitamins I should be taking daily with my surgeon) getting that vitamin prescription service that quizzes you about what you need and once they’ve given you what they recommend you can edit their choices and add other things as well as choose your daily dose, it seems pricey but it is a month worth of vitamins

    Ahhh thank you for the pill organizer idea. I’ve been needing one that can detach. I’m that crazy person with a whole box of vitamins in her bag 😂

      Congrats on your surgery date! That's coming up quickly! I've been considering looking into liquid vitamins myself. I just got my first bloodwork done post-op and so I have a little bit of tweaking to do - my levels look good overall, which is great news.

    Hi I just seen this video what do you take now on vitamins can you please let me know

    • @1FatBeet

      I hesitate to do too much of an update on this because I work with my doctor specifically on my vitamin needs this far out from surgery and highly recommend doing the same as your needs may be different from mine. What I take is really not indicative of what anyone else should take. Most of my vitamins are the same, though, with a couple of changes. I take a prenatal multivitamin twice a day as the bariatric ones all had too much copper and my body was retaining it, omeprazole, a probiotic, the same iron, folic acid, and biotin, calcium, and vitamin D as before. I take my sublingual B12 three times a week.

      Are you asking where I get my vitamins from at this point? I still get any of my bariatric-specific vitamins (iron, calcium, B12) from Bariatric Advantage. The rest I get from either Costco or on Amazon!

    I do B12 sublingual liquid

      Twice daily

      @1FatBeet  2 года назад

      Awesome, great choice! Have you had bloodwork done yet? Twice daily may be more than you need. It's not a huge deal but since my doctor had me cut back on mine a bit because my levels were high, I've saved a bit of money on B12.
