I feel vindicated in thinking Morph had a thing for Logan. His Goblin Queen Nightmare had way too much of that subtext to be nothing.

I hate that marvel screwed with that in the books with their inhuman bs because they didn’t have the movie rights to mutants
I noticed we didn’t see where Storm, Wolverine and Morph went too when everyone got separated through time. My guess is that they could have ended up in the age of apocalypse timeline
That or a lot of different timelines. I think they’re all on an Exiles mission where Morph will be staying with that team when Wolverine and Storm return.
Those 3 along with gambit could be the 4 horsemen.

The entire season can be described as perfection. Holy shit we need season 2 now.
Cloak and Dagger were surprises. They weren't in any of the 90s marvel animated series as far as I'm aware. Their first animated appearance was in Ultimate Spiderman.

@@monsterking1973 If they appear in X Men 97 next season or another show from the 90s that Marvel brings back, Spiderman the Animated series etc, and they have speaking lines I wonder who will voice them. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Olivia Holt and Aubrey Joseph reprise their roles as Dagger and Cloak.

And in an alternate timeline he and Rouge had a son named Charles, I think.

There was a 6-part mini series X-Men story where Scott and Jean end up in the future and are made guardians of baby Nathan. They spend years raising him before being ripped back in time. Scott got to raise his son, and Cable would become closer to his patents. It looks like that's where the second story may be going.

This episode was actually overwhelming and like I was actually worried for quite a few minutes whether if all the characters will make it through alive or not. The superhero cameos, the emotions, the fight sequences, the background score was a complete rollercoaster ride, it gives me so much hope and happiness for the future seasons of this show, cannot wait for season 2, 3, and 4. (I hope they revive Spiderman 1998 series, loved his and Mary Jane's cameo.) The opening sequence was really nice, I initially thought we were watching a flashback or memory of Magneto with Professor X in the past as young scientists post-WWII, but then the reveal happens that they are both in Magneto's mind, as Professor X is trying to repair his fractured psyche. I am surprised they did not do the Onslaught route, where Magneto's resentment, anger, bitterness overpowers Professor X's abilities and their minds are merged as the new, unstoppable entity known as Onslaught. Cable's psionic moment with his parents was very touching. Cyclops cutting loose against Bastion and Jean as the Phoenix incinerating Bastion was such a high moment. Young En Sabah Nur is eventually destined to become Apocalypse, kind of like young Nathaniel Richards is eventually destined to become Kang the Conqueror. Gambit is going to become Apocalypse's Horseman of Death. Mother Askani who raises young Nathan/Cable in distant future is actually a much elder version of Rachel Summers, the daughter of Scott and Jean. Bishop's back in the present and the he references his friendship with the much older version of Forge in the distant future, it reminded me of the friendship with the Protagonist and Neil in the movie Tenet. All in all, 10/10.
Oh Onslaught has been fertilised. He can be the big bad for S3 since it seems like it's mostly Apocalypse for S2 as shown in the end (past, present 1997 & future --- ALL Apocalypse).

As someone who's Jewish, Magneto specifically using the word "pogrom" is so affecting. And I love Storm's reaction to The Phoenix. And we’re even getting Nate Grey! I guess we also know how Gambit’s coming back. Next season is going to be _wild!!!_

This scene gave me massive First Class vibes and I LOVED IT!
Over the course of the last 20+ years of live action Marvel, Charles and Erik have become my favorite duo. I really love that they allowed their bond to have its moment in this show. I think something the movies did very well was highlight the relationship between Charles and Erik. I like that this show didn’t shy away from the intimacy that is present in their relationship.
Marvel is constantly elevating itself, learning from, and building upon its past. Forever bringing it full circle and making it all better as a complete interconnected Multiverse. BRAVO 👏 to the X-Men 97’ team!!! Well done.
I had to check myself because I noticed I was trying to be "cute" making 'now kissss' jokes & I realized it was tacky.
We got to see two (assumed) heterosexual men have a tender, intimate moment of connection & we don't see that often enough.
Season one was spectacular, image the security and seasons possibilities of going higher in storyline.
It was 1 a.m. when it finished for me and I immediately wanted to restart the finale, despite having work later in the morning

I was so hyped to see Daredevil, especially since he was in one of episode’s of the Fantastic 4,(the 90’s show) it was great to see him again. Also it was so great to see Tyrone & Tandy pop up for a second,(Cloak & Dagger) I’m glad the creators got them to make a cameo, they are such a good duo.
One question I now have is at the end it shows Scarlett Witch is off world. Which I hope they explore.
She’s on a mission with the Avengers.
That was so good. Good season cannot wait to see the next season 2. Age of Apocalypse is coming. This is going to be so good to watch.
Honestly watching the show made me go out and buy the Onslaught omnibus. I think that's been one of the strengths of this revival of X-Men, it's making people want to go read the comics

I think Trevor Fitzroy is involved and that’s why Bishop is back. He did something with his space-time powers to send the X-Men throughout time including Morph, Wolverine, and Storm who I think will be involved in some Exiles storyline.
Finally they showed and incorporated Cyclops ricochet I just wished we saw him do more of those like Captain America. It would be so cool seeing him moving around with his beams, blasting some ricochet shots and throwing some punches and kicks like Daredevil.
Anyone else notice Scott got the X Pose optic blast like he does in Marvel vs Capcom 3?
I'm wondering if Storm, Wolvie and Morph are in the Age of Apocalypse timeline. Where in the comics, Morph has the facial features they are using now. Missing trio!

By the end of Season 2/begining of Season 3 the Gambit we know and love will be back better than ever (now able to charge living things too) but until then you can expect his Death form to kick some ridiculous ass after Apocalypse brings Gambit back from the dead. *Note* The ONLY time Gambit has died in the comics has been in alternate realities but NEVER in the actual 616 universe.
Iirc the 97 universe isnt actually 616 anyway, so that status quo continues lol. Edit: Yup, the animated universes take place in earth 92131

In the comics, When Wolverine is on the Blackbird right after that attack it looked like the liquid metal was frozen mid explosion coming out of his body... it looked HORRIBLE and worse that his skin was trying to grow OVER the Adamantine spikes poking out of his body
This was an amazing episode. That part with the diner scene made me tear up.
On the topic of What If, I believe the showrunners have stated a while back that they won’t be doing any episodes about the X-Men until they’ve properly debuted in the mainline MCU.

You might be thinking of Wolverine comic 'Casualties of War" where wolverines adamantium skeleton is the only thing left after his flesh is burnt off and he has to regenerate everything.
I do remember that visual but I do vividly remember his skeleton being pulled out of him and his body left as like a husk of meat :o

It’s a super famous comic panel which has shown up in tons of breakdown and prediction videos, especially the last few years. This was Awesome! I think we’re gonna still get onslaught in season 3. I’m thinking some of that evil gonna have to take root in Xavier for awhile but will see hints of it later on in season 2. I also think we will see a new X-men team in the present to battle gambit and the other horseman. Regarding the past and future timeline that the others are in it’s up in the air but I suspect that apocalypse is dealing with the axis of time again . Not to mention in the original series apocalypse was in the future battling cable where cable had to go back to the present to help apocalypse destroy a past one, but Wolverine blood created the anti bodies that was needed. Also it will be cool to see a real battle between magneto and apocalypse and not that little scuffle we saw on the original series

I think this was to make way for a second season. They gave everything from showing everything to marvel rpactimanete. So that it would help them fight a great battle alongside the X-Men. And they have all looked fantastic, and I still think they should do a revival of Spiderman 90 and the Avengers, the most powerful heroes on the planet. 🙏🙏❤❤

It's possible what you remember isn't his skeleton being ripped out, but rather, his skin getting blown off. There's a comic where Wolverine bets blown up to the point where he's just standing there as an adamantium skeleton and he regenerates from that completely. So it's possible your brain mixed the two events.
The emotional content of this series rivals that of any live action series I have ever seen, the writers did an amazing job.

You are remembering something from alternate story, sounds like his death from the Ultimate Universe. During Ultimatum, Magneto overrides Iron Man's armor and Cyclops' visor to unleash full strength blasts from both to incinerate Wolverine. Believing him to be dead, Magneto gets too close to gloat before Wolverine. The nearly fleshless Wolverine jumps up and stabs his claws into Magneto's chest, mortally wounding him. Magneto rips the Adamantium from Wolverine's bones, killing Wolverine, leaving just a severely charred skeleton and an arm of flesh due to his healing factor not working.
1:15 there was an issue where Logan had his entire meat suit blown off leaving just his metal skeleton until everything regrew. Wolverine #48 Civil War
what you might've remembered could be Wolverine's death in the old Ultimate Comics universe

I wasn't excited when this show was announced. I was much more into Spidey at the time the OG was airing. That said throughout the ten episodes so far I think I've openly wept during at least half of them. Fantastic show. Absolutely cannot wait to get more. Spider-Man 98 please. PLEASE.
Bastion absorbed Cable’s time slip tech that’s in his arm, that’s how he grabbed Rogue and that’s how he’s not dead, he jumped somewhere. Pietro, Wanda and Lorna have all left Eric, a drift in his trauma, very poetic scene. Rogue and Bastion were fighting on the blue section of the moon, it has air and then the asteroid was in low orbit when Jubilee fell out, that’s why she was falling, gravity and atmosphere, air. Scott and Jean are in the Askani’son storyline, they help raise Nathan in the future but don’t reveal who they are because they don’t want to damage the timeline with the help of Askani, Rachel Summers, the daughter of Jean and Scott in the futures past timeline sent through time by the mutant daughter of Bolivar Trask to warn the X-men and she gets split into two versions of herself. One in the future and the other in the present joined with a portion of the power of the Phoenix. As Rachel was traveling through the time stream the Phoenix sensed her and thought she was Jean and left a portion of itself within her. So many stories touched by this show, season two is going to be insane with what is coming. We get Gambit back as a horseman of Apocalypse, we get feral Wolverine because of the adamantium being yanked from his body, we get possibly Excalibur finding Rachel in the present maybe, we get Apocalypse and the Xmen joining forces to stop Kang, maybe we even get Stryfe, the clone of Nathan made out of fear that he couldn’t be saved from the techno virus who went totally evil, insanity 🤪
