I concur. Love this story arc, always have! You've got a great voice too my man! And you hit every beat of the storyline. 10/10 and telling a friends. New subs unlocked!
Thanks buddies, I had the original run (being myself a regular comic buyer during original arc release). But, I was missing out on subsequent stories. Thanks again!
I never thought there’d be an event that captured me as much as the X-Cutioners Song did…and then The Age of Apocalypse. I have every book in the series and revisit them often! Incredible story, character redesign, and artwork.
Own this in trade and paperback. That’s how good it is. Marvel had done multiverse stories before but this and 2099 both from the mid 90s really set us on the path to get to where we are now.
Everything from this story was just 🔥🔥🔥🔥. If this came out before you were born, it is the one storyline I recommend spending time to read in it's entirety.
This was hands down my favorite X-Men storyline since X-Cutioner's Song! This was major for me as a kid, an alternative reality set off from Legion Quest. It was so different, dark, and gritty, and I ate this up with a spoon!
Great recap but I still feel that, the video doesn’t capture the impact of Colossus going back to fight and then getting scared and running away leaving his team to die while they were still fighting hoping that Shadow Cat and Colossus would come back to help them. Especially with the tough training at the beginning of the issues. That was heart wrenching back in the day.
Yeah, he went way too fast. And the music didn't help. You didn't even see them in the video. The narrator just skimmed through the death parts way too much.
After the Jim Lee Xmen i had to rest in collecting X title books. Then, after years, i was shocked to see the xmen in a weird status quo and also with different appearance. Damn i got so obsessed with collecting these weird x titles, knowing also that this will be a short event.
Quando Scott Lobdell dominava ... ! E quando gli X - Men guidavano l'intera Marvel genuinamente per propri meriti e senza che le altre serie venissero volutamente indebolite dall'editore stesso ... Bei Tempi Migliori !
I loved AoA when it came out. The downside was that when it ended, I didn't like the following storylines nearly as much and stopped buying X-Men altogether soon after.
Amazing work. I know this takes a lot of time and energy putting this together and you did an amazing job. If I may be so bold, may I request: DC - Kingdom Come, Marvel - Civil War I & II, World War Hulk (this would get you a lot of traffic with the whispers of a WWH Movie soon) and A vs X please.
Appreciate the appreciation, man! Oh and, you can just put down your requests. We like our subscribers suggesting us stuff. May we just say, kingdom come and world war Hulk are already in our list. Stay tuned. Keep the love coming. Cheerio!
Considering all the other random stuff that's covered in here, I'm surprised it doesn't include the 10th anniversary mini-series, or the Dark Angel Saga and such. :-b Still a LOT here; well done.
Some of the best cover art as well. I have a large wall in my office that i covered in staggered frames of old comics. This series makes up a lot of the space. I didn't like just having them in a box in the closet.
This was the last arc i read before collecting, i cillected for a few months after the end. I got my first real adult job and just didnt have to collect anymore.
The best AoA title was Factor X, with the messed up Summers family dynamic, with the exceptional Steve Epting art. The Astonishing Xmen, with Joe Mad art, was next best, and, Weapon X was the next best.
Nice one. I was hoping for the after story, though. That Jean survived or was reborn and saved the country from most of the bombs and the fall out channeling the Phoenix Force, lead the X-Men for a while, and somehow lost the power. Then she attained the Death Seed and fought something... That's all I remember but it was a good read.
The retcons introduced in X of Swords completely contadict everything in Age of Apocalypse. Granted they are separate timelines, but XoS retcons events so far back, they would have applied to AoA too. If Apocalypse is really a good guy, trying to make the people of the world strong enough to take on the threat of Arakko, then why in all of AoA did he not return to Krakoa? Why was there no mention of it? And how would his actions in AoA have, in any way, contributed towards his proposed goals in XoS? They wouldn't. X of swords completely disragards all continuity before it.
AoA is Earth-295, it's an alternate timeline. I know Apocalypse is long lived but why/how would he be concerned about the events in AoA while existing in the prime verse of Earth 616?
Having a rat-tail while Def Leopard blasts in the background of your parents dark, dank basement is truly the only way to appreciate the raw masculinity pulsing through these books. Age of Apocalypse or Fabio’s Fantasyland?

So happy you included X Universe. AOA is my favorite saga.
My favorite X-Men era!
Absolutely. The pinnacle of X-men. I doubt we will ever see anything like it again.
This was my favorite run too
Darn straight!!!
Straight facts.
Truth
One of my all time favorite story arcs for X-Men.
You just gained a new subscriber!
I concur. Love this story arc, always have! You've got a great voice too my man! And you hit every beat of the storyline. 10/10 and telling a friends. New subs unlocked!
This is the best I have seen covering this subject!!!!
Thanks for doing this, wanted some summary of events. It's been so long and I don't have the time to read it all at once.
One of my favorite stories from my childhood.
The trade paperbacks are always incomplete, and the books are never in order.
I really love this Magneto.
Thank you!! I've been looking for something like this for the longest time the AoA saga, now here it is! :D Please do the Onslaught saga next :)
Agreed!!
Yes
And X-Cutioners Song
When people were confused about Rogue & Magneto in the recent animation (X-Men ‘97), AoA is what I referenced. #RIPGambitsHeart
Good for you. Here’s a cookie 🍪
Lol but AoA is an alt timeline. Rogue/Magnus' history in the prime verse is based in their time in the savage lands not AoA.
Thanks buddies,
I had the original run (being myself a regular comic buyer during original arc release).
But, I was missing out on subsequent stories.
Thanks again!
You're welcome, friend.
Best X-Men storyline ever!!!!
luved this whole story from book to book and page to page!!
This era is a core memory for me. My pops would collect comics and even had some of these in 1st edition.
the trading cards and if you were really lucky you'd get a foil card
Me and my brother stopped collecting comics after this crossover and right before onslaught
I never thought there’d be an event that captured me as much as the X-Cutioners Song did…and then The Age of Apocalypse. I have every book in the series and revisit them often! Incredible story, character redesign, and artwork.
I am with you! It is still one of my favorite storylines!
Awesome story arc! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!

been waiting for someone to do this for SO long. instant sub
this brings back some memories, i think i still have some of these in the garage
Everything from this story was just 🔥🔥🔥🔥. If this came out before you were born, it is the one storyline I recommend spending time to read in it's entirety.
I had all comics so much as associated with aoa. Even cables fight to stop it leading to xaviers death. My favorite story.
Joe Mad is a top 5 x men artist of all time
I think he's my number 1
I remember reading Uncanny 312 and being blown away by his style.

Just subscribed and am now going back 2 collecting X men/X-force/X-factor comics.Thank u 4 what u do😊

He didn’t get scared ? He ran back to get his wife, etc but the doors closed on him
Because it's an AI video.
I read that issue at 10 years old and it had such an impact on me. That page with the door closing is burnt into my brain

Generation next storyline was amazing 👍
It was Dark AF, Chris B was such a good artist.💎
@@calvinjohnstone2664 yea his art was really a standout for me. Sugarman was the nastiest, most evil character

best storyline ever. wish they would do more with this version of Sabretooth and Blink.
I agree. This was probably the beat, most stable version of Victor Creed I've read.
AoA is my pinnacle era ...french and exchange student in the US...this was my best life..also discoverd Madureira thanks to this saga...🎉
You earned a subscriber for completing my childhood. Forever in your debt
We are humbled!
This really got me teary-eyed cause this got me into drawing. Damn. Good times
Apocalypse and Mephisto had similar stories in Wolverine and the Xmen and XM97
😂 WWHHHYYY WOULD HE GO BACK !? Stay in the 616 and count your lucky stars!
I was always angry that cyclops ended so poorly.
When Blink took on Holocaust and failed. That blow me away when I was a kid.
I have all of these books, foil and non foil 1st issues and all...encased...my fave x-men story right here...
Thank you for making this video

They have the paper back complete for about 50 - 70 bucks
Well done. 👍
I thank the great man Stan that i never read that Blink trash.
The main AOA was epic 😎
Blink is one of the dopest characters to come out of AoA
Best comic I've ever read !!
Love the art style
Best video ever filmed

And then everything went to hell when Apocalypsis possesed Weapon X
I have the 90s action figures from my childhood
This event gave me my favorite marvel character: Blink
Love AoE so much
Mutant x universe video would be nice too
thank you for this
I love to hate to love Sabretooth! He's the best heel ever!
Best ever!
THANK U THIS IS AWESOME
Loving ur long reads I'd really enjoy some spawn done the same
How can Magneto and Rogue have a kid? Wouldn't Magneto's little swimmers have their energy to swim drained by Rogue's powers? 😂😂😂
I think it has to be skin on skin contact. I don't believe her egg and his sperm would have any issues.
Both had magnetic powers.
Together, they can match frequencies and reproduce.
Never quite 'touching' on a micro- verse scale.
I am sure Magneto can create an electro-magnetic field to allow really close contact. Not sure about the in utero action.
Loved this story

I have every comic from "Age of Apocalypse" 90's series, how much do you think all those books are worth in 2024?
Priceless to you
Proud to own this and the X-Man series and yes there was an X-Man not X-Men.
AI channels gonna drown out the genuine HI channels.
Because the AI doesn't think it's a voice actor and try to make the voices of the characters which makes it really really cringey and hard to watch.
I love this!!
(spoilers) So we at long last got to see Apocalypse Wolverine on screen and boy did he look good

Thanks now more Marvel please 🙏
Blink was so cool
I thought i had the fill AoA stories but this blink story i have no idea about. What issues are they? Im going to go on a search for those books
it was a Blink mini-series published later than the AOA original publication, due to the popularity of the character Blink
