DAAAAAAAAAAAANG! I never knew the Onslaught saga was so BIG! My time with Marvel in the 2000's made it seem like the only event on Earth that really shook things up and made series acknowledge its existence was Civil War (World War Hulk got 2 issues of Ghost Rider to pay attention, but I don't recall anything else doing so). Turns out, Onslaught got everyone's attention AND resulted in the most anime conclusion to a story I've seen from Marvel (and I say that in a good way)! I can definitely see why Marvel vs Capcom based itself around Onslaught! Also love the bit where Doom tried playing Onslaught and the heroes' sacrifices to his advantage and then got literally dragged into helping out. Although it doesn't involve Reed directly and Iron Man isn't really a major enemy to him, I could kinda see this being a permanent death for Doom if they decided to kill the characters and keep it that way...Granted, the sheer number of characters lost probably wouldn't have made this sacrifice worthwhile, especially since a lot of these characters still had huge moments ahead of them in years after Onslaught.

The problem with the whole Onslaught thing and him being the traitor that killed the X-men was it was too transparent and obvious. At the time, during the Jean Grey encounter, allyou had to do is ask " who would be most shocking to find out being the X-traitor. First thought is Cyclops, next thougt is Professor X. Wow Professir X is Onslaught and the X-traitor ... SHOCKING
I read those comics in real time in 1996. And nobody saw it coming. I only guessed it at the last moment, just before the reveal, because of the X-Men tv show about Charles' astral projection gone crazy. It was unimaginable at the time.
Completely wrong, speaking as someone who was there and actively part of the fandom. Absolutely nobody saw that coming at the time. People had speculated who the X-Traitor was for years, and Xavier was never a candidate anyone took seriously or discussed in any real detail. If Marvel editorial hadn't chickened out at the last minute and decided to pin Onslaught on Magneto instead of the original idea that it was very much just Xavier's true personality that had been suppressed for the entire history of the Marvel Universe, this would be considered one of the most shocking and pivotal reveals in the history of superhero comics. Instead it was just another detour before snapping everything back to status quo a couple years later.

Soon. Stay tuned.
This is NOT the entire saga, and it's WAY out of order.
Onslaught wouldn’t stand a chance against Franklin Richard’s….
So many goddamned ads
Xforce?
Yes yes yes yes yes💚💚💚💚💚💚
Onslaught is such of a mess story in my opinion.
Agreed. This comment section is actually the first time I'm hearing of it being even average - it's chaotic with artwork all over the place and characters just being ridiculous for the sake of newest kid on the block at the time which was Onslaught.
@@RickyfromAZ indeed and honestly trying to adapt this storyline for X-Men 97 is going to be a challenge but maybe with this creative team they could pull it off and do it ten times better then the comics ever did at least in my opinion.
Ugh, Franklin Richards. Leave it to Marvel to create a character even more insufferable than his father.
Over modulated
Nun uh
Nah, I think his gain might just be a little high. It seems like he is peaking occasionally and it makes his voice sounds sort of hollow or tin like
AI channels are a plague.
Is that the explanation of why the audio sounds like it was recorded in 1958?
@@moragslothe6449 yet here you are. Commenting on the video to boost it for the algorithm. Too many speds with a super computer in their pocket and don’t know how to use it. Time to take it away
If only the mcu would have enough balls to go this kinda route .
Don't be suprise X men 97 go this route
In their defense they just got to work on xmen for the first time this year
😜why DOOM come through with the game winning 🏆 plan 😉💯
Wow, REALLY could have done without the "voice acting". Absolutely horrible.
Dial down that gain brother. You are a professional voice over, you should know better.

👍🙂👍
I'm glad I'm not the only who only new Onslaught from Marvel vs Capcom 1.
The artwork is all over the place. I remember the story being better as a kid. Good job though. Very entertaining
I remember these and boy did I hate the hulk artist. His artwork was so ugly, huge foreheads, elongated upper body and small legs.
