I’m not even satisfied with THAT Cameo but this is my favorite episode. For OBVIOUS reasons (the Saint and the Savage ). But if HE would’ve said something, I would’ve lost it😂 .

I dunno. It's great, but the finale of JLU is at least tied with it.
The implications of what Magneto did are terrifying. Airplanes, hospitals, people out at sea - all the people that would have been casualties in that moment.

Those humans aren't reaponsible for Genosha, so he brings up a good point that they are casualties. Genosha was bad. This is bad. But there wasn't really another option to stop the Sentinels. That's part of why this show is so good is that it's so complex
Magneto's declared war on humanity. Those are war casualties. They're part of his enemy now.

Bastion is actually kind of scary in how intelligent he seems to be. There is a huge difference between someone like X-Cutioner or Gyrich and someone like Bastion, the latter is immensely more dangerous. Man this show is so cool!
Doom had one sentence. Already peak Doom
I didn't realize this until someone pointed it out, the piece of nimrod that infects bastions father is that piece of nimrod that broke off and remained behind in season 3 or 4 (I think, one of bishops last timetravel episodes in the old series) nimrod kept putting himself back together T-1000 style, and during one of the last battles nimrod gets blown to pieces and then gets sucks back to his own timeline, BUT a lil piece of him remained behind that most of us forgot about (including).. it was a plot thread that was left dangling and unexplored b4 the show was canceled!! I'm glad they tied it up even tho most of us completely forgot about it lol
What's really messed up is that most of these people were taken off the streets, taken into a lab, and experimented on to continue this wild mutant hunt because of some backwards thinking from the future. Bastion said it himself: they'd go back to normal till they go in contact with a mutant.
This just takes the cake at how screwed up this really is. And I'm sure if it's permanent at that.

Remember, Bastion is partly born from Nimrod, and Nimrod is from a future where Sentinels have gone full skynet and are wiping out mutants and humans alike. The sentinels from Nimrod's future are solely dedicated to their end goal of wiping out all mutants, they don't care about saving humanity. It's explicitly a story about the bad guy's methods spreading out of their own control.

I mean, if the mutants are the next step of human evolution - it only makes sense to preemptively exterminate the humans too.
Not only is the writing spectacular, but the cinematography is perfect and the music is insanely good. I never imagined I would see a version of the X-men this good in my lifetime and now that I’m experiencing it, it feels so surreal! 🤩
Nightcrawler's my favorite but Wolverine got himself a few great action scenes too. Also amazing to see the cameos like Silver Samurai, Omega Red, Spider-Man, Zemo and Doctor Doom. They did great with the tension of the sentinels acting so zombie-like and unkillable. So, so many memorable scenes. Cannot wait to see what they do with the final two XM97 eps.

It was either a Doombot or the imposter that was in the comics a while back. He’s credited as “Latverian OZT Member”. Doom’s too important not to be properly credited.

Recently I came across cross a couple of comic panels where cable is doubting himself and asks Scott to remember as the man he wanted his son to be. Scott hugs him and tell him he is who he wanted him to be

I would agree emh is close. Never thought anything would rival that, but this is for sure the best thing from marvel/mcu in the last couple years. Now we just need Deadpool and Wolverine to be good.

Kamar- Taj reference so they know about dr strange in this universe.
Dr. Strange was in multiple episodes of the original X-Men series, he also shows up in both Spider-man and The Incredible Hulk. All the Marvel animated shows from back then had crossovers with each other.
Dr. Strange was in like 1 episode as a brief cameo similar to the cameos here. And had no voice actor or interaction with the X-Men.
And this series is in a very established universe. Nothing is really new to the characters. It's not the MCU where they're kinda giving you a tour.
All this for that episode of What If, it really make an impact.
Jean Grey and Madelyne Pryor is a prime example of "Quantum Entanglement."

I completely missed Rachel somehow, but I did catch Polaris on a quick rewind of certain moments.

My man Nightcrawler never misses. Be it his speeches or battles. Love that Santoryu (Three-Sword Style) he has going on.
Forge once made a device for Nightcrawler that could let him teleport further and leave things in the dimension he teleports through. When the rest of the team was getting bodied by Apocalypse, Kurt used the device to leave Apocalypse in the brimstone dimension and broke it to strand him. Only problem is that whenever he teleported, he would get a quick split second glimpse of Apocalypse trying to nab him.

Yoo when I saw Spidey & Omega-Red I fanboyed like crazy!
Since they were willing to show violent vivisection of the prime sentinels, I'm surprised they didn't do a Nightcrawler special: teleporting heads off the sentinels. It would have been the way to fight them locally, at least. Wolvie keeping them occupied and Nightcrawler teleporting heads and limbs to remote locations from each other.
Looking at this episode again just gave me a scary thought. What if Bastion wanted Magneto to escape. What if all of this was a stage play so Magneto would revert to his old ways and declare war? Magneto, and anyone who joins him, will be seen as that bad guys once again even though they aren't. This might be the real start of Operation Zero Tolerance.
I don't think so, based on Bastion's reaction when he heard the news. It didn't matter to him, but perhaps he'd have said something different if he had planned for it.
The writing is perfect and you're so on it with the understanding and the connection to today's world.
One other thing, Bastion is standing after a world wide emp pulse, his prime units will reboot, if it didn’t kill him, it won’t kill them or he will upgrade the next units activated.
I hope in 25 years from these awful times, they look at how this show was speaking directly to our times

Hey Omni, great vid as always - episode was crazy! Wanted to note some quick context for Nightcrawler's abilities for ya. He doesn't teleport back and forth through hell but instead through a dimension of endless Brimstone. That's why whenever he teleports, it's purple in appearance and the team always makes remarks about how he or his abilities are pretty strong in smell haha. Think like how Cyclops' abilities are his eyes being portals to a universe of endless energy (where the accident as a kid made those portals impossible to control on his own). Honestly those mutant abilities where they source from random universes of just about whatever are some of my favorites just 'cause of how silly and fun it all is

This episode was straight 🔥🔥🔥. From the Fast and Furious shout out with Cable Cyclops and Jean all that was missing was Dom come sliding in with his charger or whatever muscle car he would use and the brilliant dance with Nightcrawler and Wolverine tearing up the hybrid sentinels Left and right then Magneto sending out a massive electromagnetic waves around the world and Spiderman along with Omega Red saw and felt it then lord and behold Xavier shows up at the end. What's next??? Lol Awesome reaction bro like always
