This is why you can’t assume anything based on just weight. A heavier car with excellent chassis, suspension, brakes, and aero can perform better than a lighter car that’s otherwise inferior
I usually always drive with TC fully off. But I wanted to experiment with the TC in the M2, since it is supposed to be a really advanced system that help drivers maximize performance rather than limit anything. I feel bmw has chassis and brake tuning down really good, but at a compromize. But maybe chassis tuning comes at a cost like lets say bmw has high center of gravity. Toyota supra seems to have them beat there. Also bmw has optimized gearing for its power, which may mean longer gears. Thats where the supra may have the bmw beat also, supra with more aggressive shorter gears.
i have a M2 and a supra -> i think you are going to find that the M2 is a very rigid platform. Great performance as stock but modifying the car is a pain... A modern BMW is inferior in many ways to the 20 year old S2000. Weight: literally 1,000 pounds heavier. Suspension design: simplistic and compromised compared to the double wishbone suspension on the s2000. Wheelbase: extra long vs quite short. Pros and cons here, but the really long wheelbase has downsides too. Obviously, it wins when it comes to stock power, stock brakes, stock suspension, etc.... However, give that S2000 a similar amount of power with a transmission that can handle it (8hp and DCT swaps are a thing now too, btw) and upgraded brakes and suspension, and you're going to see way different results.
Great video. Want to work with you.Let’s take your passion and mix it with mine. Let’s be the best.
Seriously enjoying this video though I typically don't enjoy Jackie's videos... if he did more street cars I could be more intrigued more often.
Remember for a second we don’t get press cars to beat on like many other channels. When we get stock cars to play with, it’s either our friends’ cars or cars we had to pay money for ourselves. As much as I’d like the opportunity to drive more stock cars on track, going to our friends and saying hey can I borrow your car and go beat on it on track for a day doesn’t really work all the time lol
To bad the car looks like a brick of butter that has been left in the sun for too long. Truly vile ..
In China,Supra has a higher MSP than M2 ,but M2 is much quicker than Supra. fortunately i did not ordered a BMW Supra, rather than a really BMW.
