A distant relative had one of these when they were new. The interior quality was stunning. The smell of the leather was intoxicating. The HVAC vents are made of solid metal and feel better made than most car engines. The power is just amazing. During normal driving it feels like someone is pushing the car from behind and the engine is not even running. It is dead silent inside and the car kind of floats along where you don’t even feel like the tires are touching the road. Outside styling is a matter of taste. For what it cost new, it is kind of ugly especially from the rear end but this was worth the price unlike a 2012 Mercedes Benz S class he bought new for around $100K. I recently saw one of these Bentley models at a Home Depot in hooptie condition with front bumper damage, dirt all over it, and probably all sorts of broken things. They are now “affordable” for ordinary people to buy but not to repair and maintain.
Best Damn Channel on RUclips! Bill, we all have lives and things get away from us from time to time. The time you spend on your videos is much appreciated. Thank You for sharing your time and whiskey-soaked wisdom in the shitty Florida climate! Greetings from Cincinnati where it’s 2 degrees and icicles abound. Bottoms Up! as David Lee Roth used to say and keep the Anti-Communist elixir flowing!
I saw Bill the other day! It was out the front of Naples Lawn Equipment Center. He was trying to feed a carrot to a tractor because he thought it was a horse! Turns out it wasn't Bill. Didn't even look like him.
Hey Bill! Great to see you here, as always. This is one beautiful and stately Bentley, but somehow reminds me more than a little bit of ol' Moby Dick lol 🤣. Looking forward to seeing you (and hearing you) delve into that Olds Toronado and Lincoln LSC, brother. Take it slow. Best, JV Johnny ⚾⚾
Bill!!!!! Greetings from Atlanta, GA a.k.a. "Snowlanta"!!!! Temperatures are down in the 20s here. I dont care how long you stay gone, I will always be a subscriber to the channel. Everytime I see a new Curious Cars video, I have to stop what I am doing, roll a blunt and sit down and watch Bill. Im here for the rambling, sighs, car history and the car review itself.😊
Miss you Bill, on RUclips! Of course we recall that you are posting on other forums. Honestly, you are fit enough to whip a property into shape. It’s not something you have to do all at once you could do it over a year and then your fitness increases over a year! You can do it, buddy!
The old Bentley Mulsanne, now sadly gone, was the epitome of a "master of the universe" car. Still, this is pretty nice. In Britain they say that the new money goes for Rolls Royce. The old money people favor Bentleys.
Bill thanks for sharing your time, expertise and experiences with us. Always an honest well-presented assessment without pretensions. Wishing you the best of luck on your search for the right home.
Good to see you back! You’re spot-on in saying that this isn’t the Bentley one lusts to own as an enthusiast of the brand… but as an instrument of getting from point A to point B as silently and quickly as possible, it is virtually without peer-apart from a Mercedes S600, in which the interior is simply a poorhouse compared to this. I’ve deeply considered making the jump to VW-I mean, Bentley-ownership from my own S600.
Bill, it's so great to see you're back! Like so many others, as soon as I saw you had a new video, I clicked on it immediately. This shows just how much you matter to dullards like myself!
@@ruk2023-- It’s mainly a North America thing. It’s the same reason nobody buys an Audi A8 in America; Audi just doesn’t have the prestige to compete in that segment in NA. Compare that to A8 sales in Europe and the A8 sells decently well.

I have a 2014 Flying Spur with the W12. The solidity and heavy feel of the car is truly epic as Bill said. The few times I have put the pedal down over the years is fun, but also somewhat frightening! 😅
I'm so glad to see you back, Bill!! I love all your videos, history briefings, and of course, your epic sense of humor and complaining. Certainly awesome cars as well. Best of luck house hunting! 🙏🏻☮️👍🏻😎🍾
Good point in the title, Bill, I feel it too. Bentley used to be a hand-made sporty RR, but now it's a vw for the rich... The RR in the BMW assembly is almost free to do whatever it wants, as long as it works with BMW components. And all the main jobs are done by the British....like with lamborghini with the vw group...somehow it's a downgrade for bentley, even though it's still lucky to be alive and they're making something... A really nice car, but it could never have a vw badge or auto union rings, so it's a Bentley
Beautiful car. If you buy a house with extra garden area you can get someone in once a fortnight to tidy it up. It’s a small price to pay for having some extra space around you. Gardeners don’t exactly charge huge rates so you get good value.
Like fine whisky are your videos. They don't come out as often as my other RUclipsrs but yours make up in quality what others produce in quantity. Happy New Year bill and good luck on your house hunting adventures. Try house hunting half a country away.
It's true this Bentley has a lot of German technology, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. This car was built for volume with opulence which dates back to 2003 and many of which are still on the road. Some have over 100,000 miles on the clock and still going strong. Having that technology made Bentley more appealing and certainly saved the company from financial ruins.

Yeah that is a Bentley. The latest iteration especially suffers from a cheaper interior due to cost cutting and no W12 cuz reasons. This is a fine ass car. Now the Mulsanne was a whole other beast but no one bought it.
Bill! Didn’t even see the video yet I just wanna say we missed you and we hope you are doing great! 👍

That door chime on a Bentley always throws me off. Same door chime as my wife's beetle convertible. Just shouldn't be that way.
Agree 100%
Just like a Porsche key fob and Volkswagen Jetta are the same…
It seems like such a small change that they could make. Awful, really.
Audi as well
All the same company
Glad you're back Bill 😊

Can't wait to see Bill making snow angels in Florida.

What a beautiful car-what is yearly maintenance like?
That La Niña comment cracked me up, Bill!
I maintain that the Phaeton was simply a trojan horse built so that VW could engineer a new Bentley hidden in plain sight.
That’s essentially what it was. It was also meant to be a halo car for VW designed to elevate the prestige of the VW brand.
